About the Game:
Legends of Callasia is a simultaneous turn-based single and multiplayer fantasy world conquest strategy game with no hotseat waiting. Choose from a wide range of heroes from three factions - The Hundred Kingdoms, The Faeborne, and The Revenant - and conquer lands through single player campaigns, or battle against friends through online multiplayer in board game-style maps. Use bonus cards against your enemies or boost your armies and rule the world!

What Makes It Different:
  • Can be played in quick 1 to 2 hour sessions and doesn't take the whole day
  • Though turn-based, there is no hotseat waiting. Plan and resolve actions without waiting for other players to finish their turns
  • Auto-resolve combat calls for strategic choices in heroes and units before going into battle
  • Card system allows players to completely turn the tides of battle even late in the game
  • Pay once and play on all platforms (coming soon)

Why is it Free-to-Play (F2P)?
Actually it is not F2P, but Try-and-Buy. We thought it was important to let the customers try the game before they spent any money on it. Early Access price is $15.99 USD, which is a one time payment for an account to play the complete full game. Unlike other premium games, we are giving you a free demo before that payment. We didn't make a separate demo because if you buy the game on ONE platform, it's unlocked on all. That's simple enough to do through Steam, but we are planning to release the game on other platforms (mobile tablets). Making the Steam version paid only (as other games normally do) would be bad for Android / iOS users who pay for the game on that platform first, and have to purchase it again on PC.

Free Codes:
We do believe the game videos well, so we're giving Youtube and Twitch users our permission to stream the game and its music and giving away free copies for the streams or giveaways to the viewers. We can even host you on our channel if you tell us before you go live. Email us at legends[at]boomzap.com.

    This looks interesting! Very slick presentation visually, and I love simultaneous turn-based strategy. A bit worried about what 'inspired by Risk' means, since Risk is. . .not a good game. On the other hand, the two other cited inspirations are some of my favourite games ever. Guess I will go investigate!

    Curious if you're referring to the original Risk board game or Risk Factions on Steam. Or both?
    Nevertheless, it's a combination of features we liked about those games, but we've also added our own touch. It would be great if you could check it out and let us know if there's anything that needs improvement. That's why we have Early Access anyway. :)

    I did not use a code, @monikazapper. When I saw it was free to play, I downloaded it, but didn't want to take a code because I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to actually play it. If I end up grabbing one, I'll post a note.

    • Reworked Hundred Kingdoms Campaign 3 and 6 based on user feedback. NOTE: If you have an old save file for these campaigns, you might not be able to use those anymore due to the changes we've made. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    • Added Discard Unit feature on Organize Units UI. Notice that the units now have an 'x' button on their thumbnails, which you can click on to discard said units.

    We’re dropping a mid-week update today for final preparation of our Twitch livestream marathon. We will be playing all 30 campaign levels for 48 hours straight on twitch.tv/legendsofcallasia at May 11, 10PM EST. We're also giving away codes for the full version of the game!

    Patch Notes:
    • Added player action priority for Campaign Objectives with turn limits so if you complete said objective on the last turn, the game would treat it as a completed objective.
    • Further adjusted some campaign levels based on user feedback, namely Hundred Kingdoms Campaign 6 and 7, and Revenant Campaign 9.
    • Fixed save game loading bug for maps with closed sea lanes.
    • Allow giving move orders to move onto allied troops; troops will move if ally moves out of the way during end turn.
    • Campaign Ally movement has been adjusted so they will give way to player movement.

    After gathering much feedback from our livestream marathon and from our users, we've decided to do a balance pass for this patch.
    • Added reminders for all objectives with turn limits.
    • Fixed reported bugs for certain campaign levels and increased turn limit for most of the Conquer Kingdom objectives.
    • Changed Game UI behavior to show details depending on whether an army or land is selected.
    • Changed the way how neutral army spawning works. Due to this the Summon Tentaklor card behaves differently as it now spawns a Tentaklor hero that you have to fight and will subjugate the land where it was summoned if left alone.
    • Adjusted Turn Timer for a player that has no valid moves during a Multiplayer game.
    • Adjusted the Recruiter hero ability to affect the entire stack when hiring units.
    • Adjusted defense modifiers for Lands, Improvements, and Army States.
    • Adjusted Game UI to better explain defensive bonuses.
    • Added two new Unit traits - Homeguard and Rampage. Homeguard doubles the defense of the unit while defending and Rampage doubles the attack of the unit while defending.
    • Added Homeguard trait to Man at Arms and Rampage trait to Skeleton and Sprigg.
    • Adjusted Griffon's attack stat to 15 from 20 and added Charge trait.
    • Changed Death Knight's trait from Armor to Frontline.

    the game looks awesome.

    I have a small tip, in the Steam description, remove the "Pay once and play: no ads, no pay to win" line. It just shows that the game was meant for mobile devices and most ports of such games are poor on PC. When people see that you haven't even bothered to edit the description to fit the PC conventions, they are more likely to ignore the game.

    Thank you for the tip! We haven't actually released the game on mobile yet, but I understand how that line can be misleading. What we meant was if you purchased it already on PC, you can also grab the tablet version without paying again. Your progress will carry over all the platforms.     We're having a mid-week update to prepare for the upcoming Legends of Callasia 1v1 Tournament as well as our official launch this month.

    Card Adjustments
    • Adjusted Portal card to allow it to build a Portal on a City.
    • Fixed Sabotage card to properly damage improvements.
    • Adjusted Partisans card reinforce rate.
    • Adjusted Steal card to only take 25% of your Enemy's income but increased its chances to be drawn from the deck.
    • Adjusted Imperial Guards card to only convert Men at Arms.

    Game Balancing
    • Adjusted Terrain Defense Modifiers to make less powerful.
    • Adjusted Terrain Defense Modifiers to make Deserts and Wastes have negative modifier.
    • Adjusted Improvement, City, and City Improvement Modifiers to make them less powerful.

    Map Adjustments
    • Added new kingdom to Aquilian Sea map for balancing.
    • Adjusted Istmar map for balancing.
    • Adjusted the sea lanes on Turan Sea for balancing.

    • Added hover function on UI elements to show tooltips.
    • Fixed small card image for Reinforce Phoenixes and Bribery.
    • Added Hero Death notification.
    • Added new Critter achievement.
    • Text adjustments for Tooltips and Card and Improvement Descriptions to make them easier to understand.
    • Removed VP related stuff for Campaigns since they serve no purpose there.
