LMB: Last Man Batallion, it's the 4th faction in the game.

I kind of wish the story missions were gated so you have to do them in order, I did one and the voiceover just assumed I already knew everything about them.

Yeah, I think that would have been nice. A few games have suffered from story missions in an open-world having a progression but allowing you to jump it.

It's not as bad as it was in say... Mad Max, but it's there.

I have to admit I've been doing so many side missions and exploring the city that I cant remember a thing about the actual story. I have only done the first three missions to unlock the wings so maybe I haven't really started the story.

That said, I haven't actually played much in that last two days since I've still been tweaking my PC to get the CPU temperature down and my framerate higher. I think I finally found a happy medium last night just in time for a weekly Destiny raid.

have people tried the reallocation station in the Base of Operations.
You pay money and get to change the stats/effects on an item.

So say you have a really good bag but it gives you a bonus to your turret, but you don't use a turret.
pay some money and have it change to a bonus to your sticky bomb, which you do use.

Its a nice way to change your stats without having to rely on shops/crafting/rng god having good stuff

I like how the story is presented, its not presented in a single narrative, its given to you as you want it. But from what I've seen.

spoilers to the best of my knowledge.

There was a dude who made a virus Burnenko? I believe or that's who they suspect who did it, and he spread it on one dollar bills during black friday. The virus was a fast acting small pox that is infectious during incubation. So it spread all over new york and by the time anyone clued in it wasn't just the flu it was too late. Panic ensued parts of the city got walled off and that's when things really went south.

Rioters are just former normal people who decided the best way out was going bad, several recordings show they aren't as dedicated as the other factions initially but work their way up to awful things.

The cleaners are lead by a dude who lost his wife to the virus early on and went nuts, they were formely the garbage men of the city, now they are trying to burn it all down.

Rikers are criminals from rikers obviously.

Last Man Battalion are former pmc dudes called in by rich people to protect their assets that then decided they can run the city.

That's what I've gotten so far. Each faction has a leader aside from the rioters.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Yeah trash, blown up cars, and the quarantine zones all show the varying falling apart of the city as it all came crashing down. And yet even in some real shit holes people are still walking around. I hope when they do the underground expansion they do something with all the really cool but kind of empty tunnels currently open. Like up by clifton there is cool huge trail card tunnel that leads way back to the hudson camp I think.

I'm rolling through the 20's now, and I'm starting to see a lot more blue gear drop, which is nice. In fact, I'm completely kitted out in blues or better at this point and I haven't done anything special. Crafted a thing here or there, and then just regular play drops.

It's a god send. I recommend people open it post haste. I've found tons of great items that have a bunch of tech power (I'm leveling as balanced fire arms/stamina) and the station allowed me to get an upgrade for a reasonable price. The way it works you can basically always change a primary stat in to another primary stat. At worst you lose a few points, at best you gain a few.

Yeah gear drops are very much like a diablo style. Early on its whites and greens, then its greens and blues, I imagine towards the end its blues and purps. And blues are great on the guns for the talents that can be awesome like health on kills or skill reduction.

I have a "4% health on kill" mask that I can't get rid of. That perk is insanely OP - if you're at the cusp of your third-health-regen-stops-here bar and get a kill, it kicks you over that hump and you regen back up to the next notch. It's awesome. =D

Edit: Also, since it's a percentage, it scales with your Stamina. MORE OP!

Yeah and they are shitty shots. Obi pointed this out, but enemies have pretty god awful accuracy, even the sniper ones miss you unless you stand still or run at them in a straight line.

Its nice that the developers bring difficulty from enemy types/numbers and rpg stuff like hps, and not like prenatural aiming ability.

Yeah, I rarely ever die because the enemy had insane accuracy and killed me while running or behind cover.

I have always died because I got squeezed by flanking or was out of position one too many times.

I had one case last night, which I'm not sure if it was programmed into the game, but I'm walking down a street and I see a group of 3 Rikers. I start firing at them, and they shoot back, shout as usual, and then suddenly they stopped firing at me. They just stayed back, so I'm aiming down my sights waiting for one of them to pop their head up, when suddenly, out of nowhere, two shotgun guys came from behind, not making a sound, and split me in two.

It really felt like they intentionally created that diversion so that the other guys could just silently come up behind me.

There are situations and you start hitting them I want to say around clifton. But enemies on the street get dramatically more dense, and they start flanking and grenading you from cover better. I got hit by a pincer attack between rioters and rikers who normally fight each other but not today.

Also I didn't realize named enemies were random spawns, and if you die they go away :(

So we rolled around the DZ today. First we got tons of loot, then we started shooting pretty much everyone. Except for once when we ended up 2v10 the DZ was way depopulated tonight and we never really fought any resistance. Like getting to manhunt was hard because it was difficult to even find that many players to kill.

Maybe the higher tiers are more action.

So a question for y'all at endgame (which I might hit this weekend, I have no other plans), what do skill cooldowns end up looking like with higher end gear? At level 7/8 having "high" Tech on gear will shave 2, maybe 3 seconds off a cooldown, do you get to a point where skills are down to 20/30s cooldown?

Sawed off shotguns are great, but buggy as hell. They don't seem to count as sidearms for any of the talents, and they only reload one round when you use them with the shield. Actually, they reload to two and then magically lose a round somehow.

Man this game is my kind of crack, straight to the vein.

Just started running in to the LMB more frequently, and yes, absolutely they have better AI tactics, use abilities more and are much better shots. They still play by the rules though. They can lose you if you break line of sight, and the weather effects them just like everyone else. Deep snow storms/fog are my friends, as I go full Metal Gear Solid 5 and rush up on individual enemies, erase them, and move on.

they don't go away forever, they patrol an area,

I had a firefight with a cleaner boss near a basketball court in Clifton, he killed me because his flamer did tons of damage from about 30 feet away.
I sprinted back to the area and he was walking away from where we fought, only his buddies has respawned with him, then a blizzard hit and visibility went to less than his flamethrower could shoot.
Ended up having to back track 2 blocks constantly plinking away at his health/throwing grenades in his direction while he advanced on me like the terminator. Then random guys kept deciding to join in. even some JTF guys backed me up, not that anyone could see who we were shooting at.
It was a fantastic random fight

The shield in general is kind of buggy. If you use it in cover you blow your cooldown but don't get the shield. Same if you use it while sprinting.

On the other side, the heal on hit perk on the shield is amazeballs.

You can probably do it fighting underleveled dudes, like if you're 14 and they're 10. It's gonna be rough to pull extractions by yourself on equal levels.

You could also just open your map and wait until an extraction point starts flashing, that means someone else is extracting. Or you could start following people around, but they could get the wrong impression.

Edit: Seeing as I'm totally that guy, this is a DZ PSA announcement. If you're afraid of me murdering you, get out of dodge. You're not really defending yourself by throwing out a turret and taking cover, or slowly walking backwards while aiming at me. My gank will still kill you, you should probably start running for real. Like people think 10 meters is a safety distance. It's not.
