I recently submitted a game to a mobile phone game development company based on political debates with a poker-chip style system of betting, bluffing and bartering with your opponent and the town's money to win over voters. One of these ideas out of a possible 25 or so is garunteed to be made and released so let's hope I can reccomend you buy my awesome cell-phone game in the near future.

Vivendi-Universal has a line of mobile games, including one based on the SWAT franchise. It looks like it's a 2d platforming type thing, but they managed to strong-arm flashbangs and tactical entries somehow.
I really, really wanted to get it, but the Sprint network either doesn't carry it (even though it says on the website they do) or my phone just won't play it, so it doesn't get displayed. Either way, I am cry.
For the record, I know all this because mobile games were featured in PSM, of all places. They reviewed the games and gave SWAT a 'B,' which is good enough for me. Also featured was Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow 6 Vegas, both of which I think also got Bs but looked substantially less impressive to me.
Be careful playing certain games though. Some, through Bell Mobility, required data connectivity and would access the data network when launched, causing charges to appear on people's bills.
I can tell you about the Gameloft games, since I worked there. Lumines is pretty good. Don't get Meteos, it blows. Brothers in Arms 3d is visually impressive, but only moderately fun. Your phone would handle it pretty well I think. The PoP suggestions are good. One of my favorites was Block breaker, which is super simple. It's Arkanoid, but it's pretty fun. Spring Break is meant to be a WarioWare spin off, but it's terrible. Don't buy that.

You might have worked with a friend of mine if that's the case.

I've had Zuma, Tetris, and Mahjongg (however it's spelled). Oh, Bomberman was ok, as was Lode Runner.
Buy some useless stuff at my Cafepress site!
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
I own a PW for the DS and I still almost bought this when I saw it on my games network.
I've enjoyed some of the dungeon-crawler RPGs in the past.

Not sure if that's the case with your provider.
Also, California Games is pretty good. But you'll have to hum the theme tune to yourself while you play because it ain't got it.

I did indeed work with other people.
