One massive rocket and two smaller ones attached to the spacecraft. The two smaller ones hold the necessary rocket fuel. The biggest one holds the crew's communal lube.
We choose to grill on Mars. We choose to grill on Mars in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.
that's not that bad, we were taking that long to cross the atlantic only a few centuries ago
Yeah, but once you get there, you're there for 18 months no matter what. The launch windows that make it a 6 month trip versus a much longer one are relatively short.

Assuming that new digital stuff can be sent to the craft I'll focus on physical stuff.
Um. A good pc and vr equipment? You could probably still play Civ V multiplayer even with the transmission delay. You'd be able to get a game done by the time you get back.
Really, most of my physical interests involve being outside in some way.
Hmm, Nerf guns. Some board games (it'd probably be better to digitise those but there's nothing like a physical board game). It'd be a chance to try some of the longer games.

Why would that be a problem for playing Country music?
I'm bringing the mandolin.
You know grilling is out of the question, right?

Good news, there is, and it's amazing
If not, then I choose 23658.8 milliliters of single malt.
What brand?
Don't want to starve.
Mostly Glenfiddich with the occasional dram of Macallan.
