Carson might be the candidate who makes me the angriest actually.
Before he let his dumb opinions loose on America he was saving kids lives and pushing medicine forward. Now everything he does is giant step backwards for society. It's infuriating.

Fuck politics at work. I'm dreading Easter dinner with my parents and my in-laws. My FIL is super liberal and has tons of bumper stickers like "Don't like socialism? Build your own road." and "Is that true, or did you see it on Fox News?"
My parents are both independents who always vote Republican. I am 99% sure they are voting for Trump. I am aghast at it, and hoping that the subject doesn't come up. I have low hope for that being the case.
Where is the best non cable place to watch primary results come in. I kinda want to listen to something in the background while I'm dicking around today.

I thought he was retired
Did he retire to go into politics?
I honestly don't know but I'm still pissed
Edit: alright yeah he retired in 2013 and his national prayer breakfast speech was also that year.

As a successful neurosurgeon, I'm sure he wouldn't have retired unless he was ready to be done. Like, yeah, he shouldn't be in politics, but if he wasn't doing this, I still doubt he'd be doing surgery.
I spent some time the last few days phone banking.
At work.
Because I was bored and there is a nice dialer site for it.
My boss asked me what I was doing, I told him, he just thought about it for a few minutes then just gave a thumbs up and walked away because I was still getting my normal work done.
I know for a fact he's pretty hard right. Hell he's one of those, 'I immigrated legally so jail and deport all those illegals' types which are all over the place in AZ.
So that was cool. Also phone banking is kind of cool? I'm not the most social person but it was pretty interesting to talk to people. Most weren't interested and quite a few just had the urge to yell rude shit before hanging up, but probably 1/5 calls were pretty nice!
From the dude rushing the sage, to the screams of "kill him", to Trump saying he was ready for it?
Trump rallies are bizarro land.
The biggest orgasm Donald Trump would ever have is after somebody shot him. He is such a narcissist that the idea somebody thought the world would drastically alter with his death has to be his biggest fantasy. So I can totally see him staging fake assassination attempts .
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

So carson just openly admitted to commiting a felony
Ummm...if I'm reading this right Carson might have just implicated Trump and himself in a crime that could net them both two years in jail.
Please American Justice system. If ever there were a a time to throw the book at somebody...
Carson would claim he was misquoted, Trump would threaten Carson, Thinkprogress.org, and probably all of us on this forum with slander/libel suits, and the entire thing would be equal parts hilarious and sad.

Trump has said and done quite a few legally actionable things over the course of this election, but right now he's hot and has a lot of backing and attention only makes him stronger.
I do not however, predict a happy future for him if he doesn't win.

I would not be the least bit surprised if Trump were to stage an incident where someone rushes the stage to assault him and Trump singlehandedly subdues the attacker with his powerful, powerful fists.

The polar opposite of Bernie Sanders leaving his podium to check on that guy who passed out.
Being an independent is great. I can vote in either primary! Pretty big turn out too here in NC. I was 168 person at my polling location which covered maybe a max of 1,000-1,500 people and I voted at noon so turn out is probably gonna be significantly higher than that.

In my state, the Republican primary is closed and you have to be a registered Republican to vote in it, but the Democratic primary is open. Probably says a lot about the state's politics.

Seriously though, this is getting crazy. Bernie Sanders was arrested for protesting on behalf of integration of Chicago's public school system. Hillary Clinton's got really too many federal investigations hounding her. Ben Carson and Trump might be put away for up to two years. At this point the one viable candidate with a clean record is Ted Cruz and that's only because they never caught the Zodiac Killer.
I'm of two minds on the Zodiac Killer bit. On the one hand, yeah, it's pretty funny to make fun of Cruz and there have been a lot of really good jokes where things have worked out perfectly to support the bit, but on the other hand that's a real thing that actually happened and real people died and turning that event into a overwrought meme has kind of robbed that of some of its impact and perspective.

It's funnier when it's Ted Cruz and not John Green, though
I think the reason I like the Zodiac Killer bit is because it comes up so infrequently. Like it feels like I hear the meme just when I had almost forgotten it.

I think part of the reason it's starting to bug me is because I've seen it more and more lately and that's what's making it feel like it's crossing the line to irreverent. And to be clear, I'm only concerned about it disrespecting the victims of the killings and their loved ones. If anything the joke is a compliment to Cruz because the Killer was competent and effective at what he did.
Hahaha, oh man. Apparently if you work for Trump's campaign, you're not allowed to criticize him, his family, or any of his businesses for the rest of your life.

I assume everything that happens at them is staged because possibly the only thing Trump is actually good at is showmanship.

No, that's a different incident. I'm pretty sure the first one was an air horn, but I'm having trouble finding the video.

Very interested in seeing how Bernie does in NC.

Didn't Trump say that Hillary should be ineligible to run because she was under investigation?

BRING ON THE CONTESTED CONVENTION
http://www.politico.com/story/2016/03/top-conservatives-gather-to-plot-third-party-run-against-trump-220786
"top" conservatives is an extremely loose term. no party officials, no elected representatives. just a bunch of dudes.
Top.
Men.
(cut to a crate containing Ted Cruz being wheeled into a massive warehouse)
and he's like "*sigh* you know, I'm a republican, I support republicans...but....it's getting harder every day."
you can tell in that moment that he is a believer and that he honestly had no idea that
1) his party has been actively courting and in fact creating a base of racist xenophobes
2) that base actually doesn't give a single goddamn fuck about any conservative principles
it is just so precious
a small part of me does feel bad for him
but a much larger part is like hahaha fuck you Marco, this is your bed and by gar you're gonna lie in it
I look forward to seeing the outcome of Ohio's vote tonight.
Nah
It's funnier when it's Ted Cruz and not John Green, though

I'm sure it's technically legal in the moment, but any claims of a breach would be really easy to get struck down in court for being unreasonable.
