Rank 20, the only rank where one game you get completely stomped by a legendary tempo mage deck in the first game, and then the next game is against a basic-ish priest who does a turn 1 Holy Smite to face, followed by a turn 2 Holy Smite to face.
That's right. I got double Dennis'd. I crushed that poor priest.
Strangers with candy just always seemed to reach for the glory days of python but always fell short. I never got the appeal.
this is Kids in the Hall which I'm gonna figure is what you meant to say since Strangers isn't sketch
on Anubarak, Dog insists on it in Raptor. While I understand the value it generates vs Control I have some confusion as to how it's useful at all vs midrange. you can't keep re-playing it against a deck like that unless you've found yourself in a very comfortable position.

One part of me can't believe that people are still doing that 2 years into this game. But then the other part of me realizes that most people probably don't play this every day, and watch it for even longer. Unlike me, who sort of thinks about Hearthstone like a crazy person.
Like, even knowing what Dennis is is kind of inside baseball at this point, since that meme is 18 months old.

Yeah, but that's why we talk about the game in this thread. We're all about the inside hearthball. We worship at the altar of the Dennis here.

I like it. Fun synergy with UtH for refilling hand, cheap enough mana cost to be playable, even with things like Haunted Creeper rotating out of Standard, Hunter still has a few ways to flood the board.
Sweet card! Has feign death synergy as well even though that is rotating out, right? I guess it has a place in control hunter and maybe if fatigue hunter can become a thing

I know it's not exactly the same, but if you combo this with UTH, aren't you basically getting the same effect as the old buzzard/UTH combo? I guess it's less powerful because it's random, but at the same time if you're getting 3-6 cards from this thing, you're going to get something pretty good.
Well, I got tired of bashing my head against the wall so I decided I'd just muck around on ranked with one of the pre-constructed decks and finish up my quests.
I chose the Dragonfire Mage deck and switched out a messing Effigy for a Mirror Entity.
I won 5 games in a row...
My favourite was the game against the Control Paladin where I managed to get an alexstrasza back from 1 health. But the really great bit was that the turn before they killed my Nefarian while I had an Effigy out... it turned into Mekgineer Themaplugg... and they were pumping out 1/1s from their Justicar'd Hero power.
Endless Leper Gnomes... they had no answer and they conceded.

Slightly better because you're not drawing yourself closer to fatigue (not that that is a problem with Hunters, but if a control deck pops up again then it's a bit more valuable)
But I definitely don't coin if I don't have a mana efficient next turn. Albeit that's flexible if I need to deal with something on board and need 1 more mana to do it.

Yes and no. Buzzard/UtH didn't require your hounds to die, and cycled through your deck. In general for Hunter decks card draw is better than adding random cards to your hand, because Hunter decks really don't want to go to fatigue and the average quality of cards you put in your deck on purpose will generally be higher than the average quality of completely random cards.
I like the card, though. Could probably see some play in Midrange Hunter. Almost certainly not going to be in Face Hunter, spending 3 mana to add random cards to your hand is too slow for an aggro deck.
But I definitely don't coin if I don't have a mana efficient next turn. Albeit that's flexible if I need to deal with something on board and need 1 more mana to do it.
Agree. Also, with some decks I'd coin for tempo even without a good next turn play in hand, hoping to draw one because I know my deck has a lot of X-drops I could draw.
Infest is straight up what Ball of Spiders should have been.
6 mana summon three Webspinners, hahaha what an overcosted joke. Like I get it, it's equivalent to drawing three cards, it's a pretty powerful effect, but 6 mana was unplayable.
Infest is awesome. I'm in love with this card. It's gonna be fucking amazing for Midrange Hunter. 3 mana is a really nice sweet spot for this.
Alternatively one could view Infest as an apology for Ball of Spiders. :rotate:
The general idea of the coin is to provide tempo, limit enemy tempo or smooth out a curve.
So with an aggro deck, it's often good to coin out an extra 1/2 drop in turns 1-3, as you make it harder for your enemy to take board control by doing that. With both aggro and tempo decks, you also want to use it to play removal spells to protect an early contested board. With slower decks, it's more about smoothing out a curve, so you don't have a weak missed turn that allows aggro/tempo, who have more consistent early games, to start snowballing. The other things of note are using it to limit the curve-hurting effects of Overload in Shaman decks, and holding it for Auctioneer in combo decks.
One thing to consider with the new card is that it's not that dissimilar from Soul of the Forest. It's cheaper than SotF, which is a plus, but it's also slower - requiring you to cast the minions you get versus just leaving behind some 2/2s.
Soul does see some play in token druid, so a token based approach centered around unleash could be decent. But I think the card is very niche, and will probably only find a home in a specialized hunter deck.

The thing is Soul is hybrid tempo and card advantage, but weighted more towards tempo. This one is much more heavily slighted towards card advantage, and thus fits a control shell much better.
And of course the card advantage aspect of Soul doesn't matter whatsoever because it's a druid card and lol druids don't do control.

Infest kind of shores up a big problem with midrange hunter, which is that it has a problem maintaing card advantage in the later game.
