I think by "contemporary," they just meant the 3D ones. Post-Ocarina. And Majora's is a great choice, IMO. That's my favorite Zelda game, regardless of timeframe.

Majora's Mask is the best Zelda game, making it the greatest video game in existence. But that's just my clearly unbiased opinion. :P
It won't be a Ross April Fool's video if it's not also kind of a backhanded fuck you to fans at the same time. Bonus points if they're Sega Genesis fans.
I liked the stamina meter and liked its implementation even more in Link Between Worlds. I agree with the super slow tutorial at the beginning though. I want that sleeping pikachu pillow.
I dunno if I'd call the tutorial super long or slow, though. At the very least, you can get to your first major dungeon faster than in Twilight Princess, and there's some combat and puzzle situations on the way there. I guess it depends on whether or not one likes the setting of a given Zelda game prior to getting to their first dungeon. Like, if one were to play Wind Waker and think "enough doing errands for my birthday present. When can I get to Dragon Roost Cave?", that would feel like an interminable prologue.
That said, there's definitely a fair bit of time learning stuff before the Wing Ceremony, and Fi never really stops telling you things. Not so much in dungeons, though. That's nice.
Personally, I'd say SS is among my favorite over-the-shoulder Zelda games. I like the world, the dungeons, the combat, and the items. The Beetle in particular is my second-favorite Zelda item.
Guuuuuh too many people I watch are putting out Dark Souls 3 content. I'm going to have so much of a backlog to catch up on after I get past the early points in the game myself in a week and a half.
