I am just not getting the tiers here (because I am a dum). $1 for the first 3 games yeah? $13 and I get everything? Or go just above the average and get the $1 games plus the 4 down below but not SF4 and Darksiders 2?
So it looks like after I finish Tokyo Mirage Sessions I can go ahead and sell my Wii U.
Zelda was the one thing I was really hanging on to it for. Might as well get an NX to play it on.
Although, if NX is going to end up like Wii U where I play a game for 2 weeks then wait another 4 months for another game, I may skip it.
I've never understood the impetus to sell a system just because there aren't new games coming out for it. And this isn't exclusive to Nintendo systems, but, for example with the Wii U, I can see myself playing Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, and Mario Maker for a long time. I don't need new games to continue to get value out of my purchase. Then again, I'm the person that still has every system I've ever owned, starting with an Atari 2600.

On the plus side, releasing it in March is perfect for me, between my birthday and tax returns. Disappointed that I won't be playing the game sooner. I kinda have a feeling the game will be ready this year, but they're holding it back (which I still believe was the real reason for Twilight Princess' big delay).
So, uh, i'm gonna have a bunch of codes for 3ds games I can't play and maybe a couple for WiiU games I don't want. Is it cool to just offer them up(give them away) in the thread?

Yeah, I have too much of a library of Wii and Wii U titles to just abandon the console. Unless the NX plays all of those games (highly doubtful), I'll be holding onto this for a while.

It depends on what sort of games you prefer to play.
Some people prefer games that go on forever.
Others prefer games that definitively end at a certain point.

Well, I know not everyone is like this, but I also like to replay games that have an ending. So when I want to revisit Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Mario Galaxy, or Metroid Prime, I'll need a WiiU for that.

Yup, it's definitely important to have both. Having a game that doesn't really end like a shooter / racing / fighting game always there to play in-between the more narrative driven games that do end.

Disappointed and relieved that the NX isn't releasing this year. I have too many games to play and catch up on with the PS4 and Wii U. This gives me the rest of the year's worth of breathing room plus the few things coming out later I want.
Sad that there won't be any NX info at E3 though.
Very much looking forward to the Zelda blowout though.

With that said, Nintendo made my decision easy to just wait and buy Zelda with the NX as one of my launch titles. No need to buy it for the Wii U now. :P
This news kinda sucks, but it might take me till next march to make my way through the Wii U Library.
Plus, maybe paper mario will be amazing.
No I don't.

I am actually looking forward to Paper Mario. I didn't hate Sticker Star like most people. The paper/cardboard art style will look amazing in HD and maybe they'll fix some of the things people hated from SS. Even if they don't I'm interested in the paint mechanic they are introducing.

These are upcoming releases and already released games I still need to get and play. Not including the fact that I'm still knee deep in Xenoblade Chronicles X. I have plenty to play that with my gaming time, I'm not sure if I'll even have time for these before the year is up.

I typically play one game at a time until I've "finished" it. Either by completing the narrative, or just getting tired of playing. Many games reach a point where the mechanics get stale and the story hooks just aren't strong enough to get me to finish. I also don't get into unnecessary padding like grinding or collectibles. Once I'm done I move on to the next game I want to play and very very rarely ever play a game I've "finished" again.
I also have a limited amount of space and can't stand things sitting around that I'm not using. So when I look over at a game console with 3 months of dust on it, I see $$$ I can use on something that won't be collecting dust.
March of next year sounds like the predicted time frame that Sony and Microsoft have for their upgraded systems.
The NX will most likely be competing with them.
I won't be surprised to see PS4-2 in time for the holidays. Sony's requiring games released in October to ship with support for the new hardware and games released in September to have a "Day 1 Patch" to support the new hardware.
I really hope they have some more interesting stuff to show at this year's E3. Because otherwise, I don't have much to look forward to. I don't expect Sony's conference to be all that great this year. MS, EA, and Ubi's conferences are more of a curiosity to me.
I know they won't be playable, but I'm not going to E3, so meh.
I'm honestly surprised Death of Rats hadn't already heard about the Color Splash controversy. There seem to be an endless amount of YouTube videos condemning the game, all of which are punctuated with shocked disbelief that Nintendo refuses to make another game akin to Thousand Year Door.
It's feedback so consistent and omnipresent that even Nintendo may not be able to remain oblivious to it. But I suppose if anyone can...

Yea, Zelda will be cool to see, but it's not till next year. This E3 will be a bit barren. Zelda, Color Splash, and Pokémon. Unless they have a surprise they've kept hidden, I'm not sure what else they have to show. :?
Pikmin 4 maybe? Supposedly that is still Wii U bound, but I just assumed it got shifted to the NX.
Oh, does that work, redeeming online? I don't need the code, I bought my own bundle. But with Nintendo's system, you have to actually start the download before they'll accept the code, and I don't have the 10 gigs free to do that without temporarily deleting something. It'd be swell to just redeem the code and get credit now and download it when I'm ready and have the space.

It scares me that they said this:
E3: Nintendo changes its approach to the show every year. This June, Nintendo will focus its attentions on the upcoming game in The Legend of Zelda series. The Wii U version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E3 show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion.

Showing up at E3 with nothing to announce only 9 months prior to launch seems like such a weird strategy to me. If it turns out Nintendo are just saying March to keep their shareholders happy and are actually intending on delaying it into their next fiscal year, I wouldn't be surprised.

Meanwhile they go bankrupt not releasing any software for Wii U in the mean time :P All of their development has already shifted to NX which is why you're only seeing garbage shoveware out of them right now. They can't keep sustaining that ANOTHER year

They really could though. They are making enough money from Amiibo and cross promotions that they'll be fine (fine being a relative term). It might not be the best decision, but it is very unlikely that they could bankrupt themselves in a year, even if they tried.

Just a thought, but it might also help mitigate lines for people who *are* at E3. Since I'd assume the demo for it would be longer than a couple minutes, having more demo stations open for it means that journalists can spend more time actually playing the game without a traffic jam.
And since it's "A New Motherbucking Zelda Game," EVERYONE is going to want to get their hands on it.

Wait, why would it be bad? TTYD was AMAZING and the one on the Wii was good too. I fell off of nintendo for the most part after that.
Sticker Star came out after that, and was NOT received well. A lot of people see similar trappings of that game.
