And Elite Dangerous: Horizons is announced to be coming to the One by June, with all future updates said to be release simultaneously.
Get landing on them planets!
Btw, Masquerade: Baubles of Doom wound up to be a disappointment. In a nutshell:
The silly of the plot didnt outweigh the weak implementation of free-flow combat.
The platforming elements were bearable.
Will eventually finish it for the gamerscore, but its a miss.
In other less commented on game news, Blues and Bullets: Episode 2 was released a bit back. Havent had a chance to play it yet but it's a neat adventure game imo.

i wonder if MS went after that as an alternative to No Man's Sky which will release at the end of June.

Oh you know that's a good shout. Yeah I wouldn't mind betting there's been at least a couple of thoughts of it being something of a stealthy competitor, at least so they're not devoid of space exploration.
As a fan of the genre I'll be playing both for the things they do differently, of course.

honestly, when No Man's Sky was first shown off, my mind immediately went to the original Elite as a comparison so having the modern version as a competitor/substitute just makes sense to me.
I still don't understand the appeal of No Man's Sky, primarily because the narrative before was built around "YOU CANT PUT THIS ON CONSOLE!" and... so on.
And... I could be wrong... but the primary objective of the game seems to be ennui, and I produce enough of that on my own. :P

I'm not sure what you're referring to here. Especially give that the second time it was shown off to the public was at a PS4 keynote.

So... some other space graphics porn game?

I'm a little worried by the fact that, literally the more I hear about the game, the more it sounds like the lead up to Spore. Which....isn't a good thing (I say this as a huge Will Wright fan).
I've generally decided not to learn anything more about the game until it comes out (and assume my GTX 970 can handle it if I pick it up, since I don't own a PS4 yet).
I'm just trying to remember what the other graphics porn game it was with no clear point (to me) that I decided to pay minimal attention to now, heh.
Star Citizen?
That is literally the only space game that comes to mind that was announced from day 1 as being something you can get "only on PC!!!". And I could have sworn that No Man's Sky was announced at Sony's E3 presentation (of this, I could certainly be mistaken about...it's been a few years).
And crap...DCUO is on the Bone now, too? Well, why not...it's not like it'd be the only game in my library that I have on PC, PS4, and XB1...

No Man's Sky was first shown at Spike TVs last attempt at a games award show. in fact, it was one of the highlights* of that absolute shit show.
as for DC Online, is it worth checking out? might give it a bash if there's others playing it.

*it not the highlight.
Ahh...I forgot that Spike existed after they stopped showing MXC, so it makes sense that I wouldn't have known about the reveal at such an...*cough*...illustrious venue.
And personally, I like DCUO for what it is (a lightweight, action-heavy brawler that lets me fight side-by-side with iconic (and some lesser-known) DC heroes and villains).
EDIT - as for how it plays....um...I'm trying to think of an analog, and the best/closest I can come up with is it's kind of like TERA with less fan service and fewer loli-catgirls.
Erlkönig on

The objectives and gameplay of No Man's Sky have been reiterated so many times at this point that I feel like anyone going "but what do you do?" is just being willfully ignorant now

well here's a pleasant surprise, Episode 1 of King's Quest is currently free on Xbone. not sure if its a limited time thing or not* but worth grabbing if you've been curious about it i think.
*or if its always been that way and i just never noticed.

But also FUCK! Everything is coming out in May...
FUCKING FINALLY! Seriously, that was supposed to be out in March.
Glad at least it's coming. Also, the actual good Ghostbusters game needs to be BC already. Also KOF XIII.
The Cave really was so much fun.

It's Minecraft IN SPAAAAACE!
The press is hyping it up 'cuz they think it's the Valkyria VR game from the EVE Online people. :P
