I'm happy that I won't have to void warranties on controllers if I want custom colors. Although I strongly prefer metal thumbsticks... so I'll probably still be voiding warranties anyway.
am sure they'll extend it to the elites at some point too. those have metal sticks right?
The multicolour ones were kinda keen, the new S controller looks like an elite "lite" controller. The gears one looked ok. The current elite sticks are all magnetic, snap snap. Works great.
Yeah if Scuf or Evil controllers sold a custom stick set I would totally but one. I am sure they do custom Elite controllers, but I can't imagine how much that costs.

The new controller won't have the paddles either, right? Eh, I'll wait for them to come out in black--no motherboard comes with onboard bluetooth either, blah.
Finally watched the conference. Wow. Lot of stuff.
Limbo is easily one of my favorite games, just for the simplicity of the art and music, plus the puzzles are just the right amount of brain teasing I can handle (never finished Braid because it basically broke my brain).
I look forward to Inside so much, everything looks great there

Seriously. I said some words when that release date came up. Buying that so hard you'll feel shockwaves around the world.
That was one heck of a conference, I felt.

@darleysam I found some game-play footage from 'Inside':
It's unfortunate that it's not the remake Phil Spencer was hoping for, but considering we're getting remakes of the last three Resident Evil games, including what must be the eighth remake of Resident Evil 4, Phantom Dust absolutely deserves one modern option (I don't think it was BC on Xbox 360?).
I'll be buying it and I don't even like card games.
With the Xbox Anywhere thing, the console itself is redundant as far as a thing that you need to play their games. At the very least the Xbox One is now a hardware baseline for their games to utilize moving forward... an Xbox Scorpio game would effectively be an Xbox Game on a high end PC.

General Raam is out free to everyone this week. To showcase how big he is I put him up against the largest guy KI had to offer.

between Xbox Anywhere and Scorpio i think MS are likely to release a decent Steam Machine before Valve ever will. i can really see them moving towards modular hardware instead of a fixed console cycle. maybe team up with razor or steal their 'hardware as a sub service' idea.
Missed this earlier, GoW themed Elite. Looks pretty badass not gonna lie. I can't justify buying it but if for some reason it ever went on sale, it will be mine.
Also, background custom music is coming? Very excited. Hopefully I can get my Spotify through there somehow.
Yeah, I alos think that BC will be an "Xbox Console" exclusive, so as to not fully take it out of the equation.
The xbox should remain viable no matter. A 300 dollar box that can play all the games remains a very attractive option for those not wanting to spend money on even a mid level type of gaming pc.

Well, yeah. But tell that to the enthusiast masses who think that Classic Microsoft shot itself in the foot. :P

I like the message Microsoft are now pushing hard, that you don't need to worry about losing your games. Starting with backwards compatibility last year, they seem to feel like that's their big angle, that the games you buy aren't suddenly going to be obsolete and unsupported. If you buy a game now, you can play it on an Xbox One, your PC, a Scorpio, and (probably, but this is just speculation) hopefully whatever comes after. They're not going to re-sell you them in future, or stream them to you from a remote server. It's nice to feel like that's their interest.

I've said it in the past--it's an extremely attractive message from a consumer standpoint. Inasmuch as they are the first-party company, Nintendo has made a large part of their business reselling you their classic titles because, frankly, they're unparalleled in this area. No other company made Super Mario World or Super Metroid after all, but they've also included recent BC as a thing consistently. Sony's figured that reselling their previous titles makes very good business sense (and they're right) and there's really not a lot of consequences to removing functionality to make that happen, even if Gaikai just flat out sucks in certain parts of the world. Microsoft's in a very tough spot (not Nintendo tough, but they don't have the luxury of saying "We're not in this race, don't bother us.") so they see it as a way to increase brand loyalty,

Yeah, I'm glad to see that functionality coming back--I was always a huge fan of it on Xbox 360, when it helped you evade sometimes awful default soundtrack choices. Maybe one day we'll get default stick inversion and subtitle options?
some of the other features the announced where pretty nice too. don't see me using the Arena feature but for those that love multi and competitive play, built in tournys will be nice, especially with them teaming up with EA for their tourny efforts. but better than that, built in LFG! MS have fixed Destiny's biggest problem! :P that really will come in handy i think. and Clubs will be nice, probably the number one feature i've been hoping they'd steal from Sony, so nice to see them finally add it.
but yeah, the Xbox Play Anywhere* is a great thing for the consumer and hopefully i sign as to how MS plans to act going forward. making cross-buy and BC a staple of their ecosystem would be a smart move on their part i think.
*they really need to find a better name for that, even just drop the 'Play' part.
It's fascinating, the sort of stuff I drool over, but I don't think we can but that much weight on the video media during a press releases for something more than a year away.
Hell, Sony's not even talking about their intermediate model, and those rumors surfaced because dev kits were already being sent out. MS could have a completely different graphic next time they publicize theirs.
Or perhaps I'm being too cynical, so I'll keep drooling over their charts.

i'm just saying if they make custom elites at some point too then you can have both and keep your warranty.

Nope, said in their conference that it's the full thing.
Totally right. When I checked earlier all I saw was the "Try it for free" and "Buy" for $9.99
I checked again after your post and the "Buy" changed to $0.00.

It's still $5.00 on the website--guess you need to buy it via your console?
I haven't checked out KI since Season 3 started, gonna have to look into it

Its a timed unlock. The add-on is to perma-unlock Raam.
Also, background custom music is coming? Very excited. Hopefully I can get my Spotify through there somehow.
