Well! Met up with the OKC girl I've been talking to, and it went pretty well! She laughs really easily, which is good for someone who likes to think he can be funny, and we moved from topic to topic with basically no awkwardness (a big step for me). We ended up hanging out for about 5 hours(!) and I don't think there was a lull in the conversation for more than a second or two. At the end of the night, she made a point to let me know when she would be free next before I could ask, and we got in two(!) hugs before we went our separate ways (another big step for me).
The verdict is still out on her opinion of my doughboy physique, but I made it home with my scalp and skin all intact, so I'm calling this one a win. Also @Liiya I think you and her would get along - when describing what to look for as we were trying to meet up, she said to look for the girl holding a bunch of plants. And yup, there she was, holding the several plants she'd bought on the way to meeting me.
No idea if this is more than a potential friends situation, but it's easily the best date I've been on in a hell of a long time!
I haven't seen it either and I'm pretty great tbh so Liiya that cannot logically be why you are terrible (which I do not believe anyway based on evidence)
The guy from my writer's group and I were talking about awful music videos. He'd just showed me something one of his friends had to produce for an indie band, which was gloriously awful.
I mentioned that a girl I'd been friends with (from like, toddler-hood to five-ish) had started a band with her younger sister. My family totally lost touch with her family, but we found out about the band after the Tribune ran an article about them and I'd thought it was kinda interesting how her dad was claiming she'd "always" loved the piano and making up songs because I remember she HATED the piano and was basically forced to take lessons. But anyway, they were in a band, the music was kind of awful, and she and her sister made this really cliche black & white music video with lots "multiples" of them walking around an abandoned building and looking into water and stuff.
So then I told him to look up "Smoosh." And Writer's Group Guy got confused and asked me if I was talking about Chaos Chaos, which is the name Smoosh started using after they rebranded. I was really surprised somebody else knew them, but said yeah.
Then Writer's Group Guy started freaking out, pulled up a new song by them I hadn't heard, and told me they'd been on Rick and Morty.
Looks like in the last few years, Asya and Chloe fired their dad as manager, changed their last names, switched record labels, scrubbed most of their embarrassing stuff off the internet, and improved a LOT.
I've still not seen star wars :rotate: I should do that first.
Nor did 20q girl
She said she might like it as someone talked her into DBZ and she watched it and liked it
So I thought hmm how can I do this in the distance we have
She called me a nerd when I asked if she would like to and what edition she would like to see and we ended up watching the original Star Wars
Then talked for 2 hours about it and other things after
It was a fun "date"

I went to Richmond to meet a friend for drinks and food and I tell you the neighborhood of Scott's Addition is a Disneyland for hipster adults. There's four fucking breweries, a place that just refills growlers, a movie theater that has a separate indie theater, five goddamned restaurants, and an assortment of food trucks and live music all within five minutes' walking distance. Fuck me, it was great, and as my new friend put it, we got a lot of friendship merit badges that night. And her companionship did much to dispel- at least temporarily- the seething anger and bitterness that characterizes my waking hours.
Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself Tam! I know a thing or two about stewing in bitterness so hearing someone escape it, even temporarily, puts a smile on my face.

They're not tricks, Michael, they're illusions.
lateral thinking
because I am terrible.
Correct. On both counts.
(I've only seen... most of season 1, I think).
My terribleness is based on other things perhaps!
When you're no longer burdened with school work I am going to have to host some Netflix parties and get y'all up to speed. There's still hope for you.
Just to make sure, Episode 7, right?
Correct, I have seen the others!
Some were good
some made me want to slap a certain few characters.
That all sounds like it's within normal parameters, I think you've passed!
Depends on which were which
8-)

Dance for her.
That is the policy for me as it's directed toward me
What is
the dance of friendship?
like when birds puff out their feathers and dance all crazy like from side to side
Whats worrying is Solar and I have been friends for years and hes never done a dance of friendship for me
probably because I would laugh at him.
Like the Dance of Sorrow or the Dance of Under Pressure
Or the Dance of Vague Feeling of Achievement
