UPS truck pulled up with a package. Got all excited, doorbell rang, and then before I opened it I remembered, "Oh right.. FedEx is delivering it..."
I'm at work, got the ok to mess around with the vive. sitting at my desk. seated experience. kinda got it working everything still kinda blurry. test TheBlu. seated. still freaked out by the scale. i'm sitting in a damn chair and I'm still not trying to freak out around my coworkers
I am right now in VR Desktop watching giantbomb's thing
yeah this is a giant blurry mess. I'll mess with it more when I can do room scale instead of sitting at my desk-scale

did you go to htcvive.com/setup or whatever and ran that?
orange cables out of breakout box to headset, black/blue side goes to computer? the HDMI from breakout box is plugged into your video card HDMI and not the motherboard/other's hdmi port?

Never thought that, having placed a :02 order, launch day would come and go without me getting shipping info or even the actual product. Looking like that's going to be the case.
I can say with extreme confidence now the Vive was definitely the headset to get. I'll defend my purchase decision to the grave! Who wants to fight!?

I'd actually say that either headset is good. It's honestly up to whichever company is able to get a disgustingly good high quality screen that has a ridiculous PPI first at this point.

yeah, 05 here and I'm in the same boat, also annoying since I'll be out of town Fri-Mon so at this point it's unlikely I'll even be able to set it up before next week if they did ship it at some point today.
Have they mentioned if TheBlu will get Rift support?
It doesn't have any right now. But more then likely it will later when the Touch controllers come along. You can technically load the game on a Rift, it's just that SteamVR won't read the second watch tower or wands.

If I can just launch it and look around, that's good enough for me. My wife has been more impressed by videos of this game than anything else VR I've shown her, so if possible I'd love for this to be her first Rift experience.

Unplugged and replugged everything, rebooted a couple of times. It finally decided to work, all good now.

How does the whole headphone situation with the Vive work?
There's included earbuds, but they're in-ear ones, which are very love-em-or-hate-em, so if you're using actual headphones, which lots of people will do - how do you deal with having the huge loop of headphone cable?
