fyi you should be fine with unfollowing someone after you've added them as a friend. You can also add recommended friends after you have a few.

I just read on gamefaqs there's a secret mission for 10 platinum coins on the main mynintendo page. Clicking on the Mario block at the end of the Main Page and clicking repeatedly on your Mii which then is holding a present.
