So... Extra Credits just made a video of the conversation we had here and a lot of other places? :P
Yup. After watching that video, I was convinced that our agents are cyborgs who are being controlled by brain chips to do horrible, horrible things (like unquestioningly follow instructions to kill all red-identified IFF tags).
The only opposition that isn't totally fucked-up-4-real in the Division are the looters, and everyone of them so far just so happen to have opened fire on me with everything they got, at first sight. I have no qualms whatsoever murdering them all.

To be fair, every red-identified IFF tagged person has tried to kill me when I walk by. I could be minding my own business, checking out this sweet new scarf I got, and then some red-identified IFF tagged guy shows up with his friends and starts shooting at me.
If the only way to get any peace so I can check out my sweet new scarf is to kill all of the red-identified IFF tagged guys, then that's what I'm going to do.
That's exactly what a brain-chipped agent would say!
Also, what if the random NPCs we run into have also been implanted with brain chips and are unquestionably following their IFF color-coded orders, too? The Division's New York is really New New York over-run with robots!

After having read about that happened since Incursions was released.... Yeah, I think I'll stick to playing Dark Souls 3 a while longer before playing this game again.

I've occasionally been thinking of how Division agents are relayed information from their ISAC pods... The agent origins shorts had some imagery giving the impression of cyber eyes, which would explain that hooked up vibe agents have and the interface overlay on their vision, smartlink on the guns for example.

If there wasn't the Tom Clancy name attached to the game, I would have expected that Samaritan ISAC was behind the Green Poison.
Black lives matter.

Smurfing down to the lower DZ is totally a blast and I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't interested in competing against loot cavers and who hopefully won't be ruining other people's legitimate experiences in turn. I felt like a sheriff today just maintaining order and putting down rogues and helping out legitimately undergeared people. Partied with one rando who was at GS110 and did a full stash's worth of extractions with him. Afterwards, I saw him start taking gear out and get up to GS130.
You can still get down into the lower DZ with loot cave gear. If you ditch two weapons for low level versions you can wear a 4 piece sentry and two high ends and still be under 160.
For anybody who's heart dies a little every single time you see the 7/8 Badges or the 14/15 Rewards on The Division's Overview page in Uplay, this weekend's Steam free-play of Rainbow Six: Siege will allow you to unlock that last Reward (and, subsequently, unlock that last Badge).

At least if they do that then they should have a range weakness you can take advantage of or at least are forced into using AR to maintain range viability.
I thought they fixed the loophole. My buddy said he couldn't get in the lower dz. I wonder how they "fixed" it. They really should just look at all your chats and stash and go best in slot...

I also heard downloading RBS during the weekend would grant you the clothes from that game in Division, but I haven't been able to succeed with this yet...

You also have to actually run R6S so it gets attached to your Uplay account. My mid-level alt is currently rocking the Siege Hoodie and Siege Pants.

Hahaha, now instead of people just shooting a parked car they just shoot an orange dot on a grey wall. This is ridiculous
What do you mean?
Previously the glitch involved glitching through the wall into the arena and shooting the parked APC. So they 'fixed' that. So now, instead, they start the mission, get up to the double doors then go all the way back out of the sewers, glitch through the fences and run around to the building where you proceed to stand in front of a grey wall shooting at the orange 'dot' that highlights the APC

I haven't checked if its actually in-game (i'll do this a bit later to make %100 sure) But i was able to unlock it in the rewards section by simply starting the download and immediately stopping it.
I downloaded RB6 and went through a couple of the tutorial missions, but the reward claims vendor back home in Division ain't giving out shit.
Or do you just unlock the stuff in the Uplay rewards section and have to "buy" it with achi points in order to access it?

Yeah you have to 'buy' it with Upoints or ucoins or whatever that currency is, although it costs 'zero'.
i find the screaming and crying about how bad the Incursion glitch is to be very funny. yeah, it sucks that they didn't balance PVP so now people who glitched have 240 level gear. but that's a pvp balance thing. anytime you mix pve and pvp, you better learn to balance it, and as a player, expect it will be rough if they don't.
but isn't this glitch just like a bunch of glitches that happened in Destiny? An unintended outcome from a player input puts the player in a boring, but advantageous position to abuse holes in the code and scripting of boss fights. (Atheon in multiple ways (teleport "fix", push off edge), The Templar, what else?)
...yes? It's shitty in both games, why does that make it funny?

Nothing in destiny allowed you to get more rewards than the time gate allowed. Some glitches let you beat certain bosses without much effort but typically you had to spend a lot of time and show decent skills to get to that point.
I was firmly anti cheese in destiny but the actual cheese wasn't nearly as ridiculous and the damage not nearly as extensive.

It used to be you could just stash loot and you'd be okay. Now they check the stash. So what you do now is you stash the loot, log into an alt, remove the loot from the stash, and *now* you're okay.

If y'alls went through Uplay to get the free weekend, that makes sense. If you used the Steam download, you needed to actually run the game once to get the Steam-Siege attached to your Uplay account. Otherwise, the Steam-Siege install would be living in its own isolated shell and never know it had a (temporary) home in your Uplay library.

since the patch the one is none or whatever is bugging out my reloads. real pain, I get stuck with 1 bullet left and can't reload. I need to switch weapons to fix it and it resets to an unmodded magazine size
That this thread isn't getting many replies suggests that maybe the player base has fallen off a cliff?
It's definitely diminished. Players that enjoyed the open world 1-30 experience but aren't fans of the MMO loot-em-up aspect obviously are gone.
And there's not a whole lot to the current end game even with the incursions which are wonky as hell. A lot of us still knock out our dailies and stuff but since we're not paying a subscription fee we're also fine with not hitting the game hard when we can play Dark Souls or Enter the Gungeon and the like.

For me it's mostly that all the exploits definitely diminish enjoyment, my last 3 attempts at DZ have all been crap, and the matchmaking is also terrible.
And I hit a ton of mission failing to start bugs too, and the added up some is so much looking at loading screens, being unhappy with pugs in various ways, getting rolled with no counter that I'm just not sure if there's anything left that I want to achieve.
I'm probably taking an extended break and see what all the added content and a few months of fixes can achieve and then come back.
I enjoy the game and also will very much bitch about the exploit and cheater haven. They are not mutually exclusive. It really is by far the least polished most exploitive games I've ever played.
How do people even come up with these things? The ladder one? It's just mental
1. Deploy mobile cover at the top of ladder
2. Go down ladder, cover to wall opposite, then cover to cover to the ladder
3. Climb ladder and stop halfway
4. Switch to pistol... what?? why????
5. Empty your clip... huh? why would you even try this?
6. Climb invisible ladder out of scenery
did the incursion for real last night with some friends. Least interesting gameplay experience I've had in the last few years. Boring and tedious at every step.

The fact that so many exploits have involved mobile cover messing with things cuts down on how long it takes to find a new exploit with it. It's like the Adobe Flash of Division skills.
At least someone actually found a reason to equip mobile cover.
Mobile cover is actually interesting in Falcon Lost when doing it legit anyway if you're down in the pit. Making yourself some good cover to plug up against the rush can be very important.
I haven't played the division, but I've watched some people play it when it was released.
I like Extra Credits and they usually have a point about the episodes they post.

I thought they raised some good points. How it ties into modern policing, profiling, the hoodie bullshit.
But when they talk about shooting people without due process of law I kind of wanted to yell.
I wanted to scream out "DO YOU SEE THE SIGNS ALL OVER THE CITY THAT SAY MARTIAL LAW IS IN EFFECT."
"DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?!"
