Got another spellblade from the fft banner. I budgeted whatever mythril I have for this banner, then nothing until FF8 and ssb or bssb fests. So here's to hoping the next two days mythril might land me something neat since I plan to use ramza and agrias extensively.
So I am prepping up for that Snail fight, where you need to hit its head and not its shell. Any tips to make sure I don't hit the shell when it occasionally pulls its head into the shell?
Just ran the daily "++." I hit 4 magic pots. Got 1 MPO. Not bad. Not bad at all.
I'm not going to spam run that tonight, since I will need the stamina for Relm's bonus battles tonight, but in the future I'm looking forward to farming up some greens and the occasional major orb in the process.

I'm sure someone will be in here soon to tell you exactly how many turns it spends out of it's shell etc, but in general what I do on mechanics like that is have my team simply wait, then unload everything as soon as he pops out, usually for 2 turns worth, then wait again just in case.

I haven't seen a single magic pot since the reset, and never once got a major from them, although with still a hundred or so story missions to go, wasn't really farming dailies either.
I've been pretty happy with the rate of regular enemies dropping Greater Orbs in ++ so far. Though the one Major I got from a pot was White, because of course it was.

This. The shell by itself shouldn't attack you much (if at all), so you can really take your time with the fight. Also, if you do mess up and hit the shell, you can S/L and try to do better, or you can probably just say heck with it and suffer the medal loss, if you have perfected all the trash stages. You might not champion the boss stage, but you should still master the dungeon.
A good example of power creep just dawned on me as I was comparing weapons in preparation for tonight. Not even accounting for realm synergy, Vivi's Mace of Zeus, an SSB weapon only released about 3 weeks ago, has less stats in both ATK and MAG than Strago's Morning Star, a non-SSB item. Nothing significant mind you (5 ATK, 2 MAG), but this is what I'm talking about in regards to items that you only got a few banners ago already being outclassed. And it only keeps getting worse. When Cloud gets whatever new thing coming down the pipeline, it'll be nothing to what will come out a month or two later.
They've actually been pretty good with keeping stats relatively in line. Soul Breaks do get outclassed a bit, but it mostly seems to just be the first couple that are kinda power creeped out, like Cloud's and Squall's are both a bit rough compared to the stuff coming out now. But the damage is generally similar so the items are still very good, just lose out on some extra effects vs stuff like Gilgamesh's Genji Blade giving you Blade Beam + High Regen.

The average generic 5* sword originally used to be around 100-105 atk. Character specific swords were ~110. Then ~115. The FFT swords are currently 124.
Hell, just using Cloud as your example, his original Buster Sword was 110. Organics was 116. 1st Fusion Sword is currently 124. Blind guess is that his next sword breaks 130.
Yeah, it's absolutely creeping higher and higher.

Heh, decided to toss my 100 mythril at this banner since I'd love like 5 of the items and with 2 8x single target SBs, could basically finish my team. Got nothing, and then the bracer and strato's mace which I will never use.

Oh well, I am weak.
You'd hate for the game to be easy, right???
Heh, I just like that it managed to pick out the one item I wanted least. Stole that desire sensor tech from capcom.

Strago is just bad in both FFVI and in FFRK.

According to the after level messages for Ebot's Rock, his name is STRAGOS in FFRK. Heaven forbid they proofread anything.

"Stragos" is in fact his name in the Japanese. Unlike "Terra", who got a name change to keep the whole "name what sounds exotic and foreign" thing, he got changed to "Strago" because of character limitations. Couldn't fit a 7-letter name.
Similar stuff was the reason "Chrono" became "Crono" in Chrono Trigger.
I prefer Ultros, even though I know it's just a mistranslation of the sylables you'd use to say "Orhtros" in Japanese ("or to ro su", or something)
Mostly 'cause he doesn't really look like a two-headed dog, and because they're still flip-flopping on the translation (he's Orthros in Dawn of Souls, Ultros in VI Advance, Orthros in Theaterhythm, Ultros in FFXIV...), so I feel okay in choosing one and sticking with it.

You know I'm okay if they want to do that but at least stay consistent in the game.

I'm just kidding, I actually don't really mind either way . Just showing another example of that sort of thing. It's like Aeris and Aerith, I don't mind either way in that case either. After all the way the character is portrayed is the important part, not the name.

Whoops. Was not expecting boss rush river Ultros to counter fire damage with Firaga spells.
Can his counter Firaga be reflected? Or Runic'd?
And does airship boss rush Ultros do the same counter?
The one with Typhon? I don't believe so at least he did not counter my spells when I fought him. He did counter me in the revier which was annoying, so I just had Terra defend and took him down without her.
Thanks for the tip @A steak! I was going to bring Saint's cross for that requirement, looks like Diaga it is.

Holy anything will push that boss into Demon form, but only Holy Magical will make the Demon vulnerable to physical damage. I think. Haven't checked out the bonus battles yet.

Okay. I'll just power through with Shout, Retaliate, and Lifesiphon. Save my fire for the airship.

That said, RS tends to balance things out.
Soldier's Sabre (X) - 101 Attack. In realm, that turns to 190 Attack.
I drew that chasing Tidus's Brotherhood sword in the tenth overall event, and I'm still actively using it when in X realms.

This game knows Celes is my favorite.

Yeah, that ain't bad. I've been needing a much better thrown weapon anyway.
