Also, Wolf Among Us is still super good, but it's been long enough since I last played it and stopped after episode 2 that I may just start it over after completing it to try to get the rest of the Book of Fables entries.
I, personally, want to find the "lobstah" and "chowdah" buttons.
Wonder if anyone near me does a good roll for lunch ...
The Lobster Roll truck in our area has a Twitter account, @Elvenshae. Maybe it's rolling near you today?
EDIT: Here it is. Rosslyn and Tyson's today? I've never waited in the lines for it myself, although it's supposed to be good. I've heard that the $8 shrimp roll is the stealth value choice.
Hey, for anyone who backed the aspirational Magic-killer, HEX and hasn't logged into their account (probably because they were waiting for un- or partially fulfilled kickstarter promises to materialize, some things you should know:
1) They transferred services to a German company that has privacy restrictions requiring you to accept their terms and conditions within a certain timeframe or they have to delete accounts. As a result, despite some (perhaps lackluster) attempt to contact account holders, many people were surprised recently by notice that their account was deleted.
2) BUT! They heard the wailings of the people and have reinstated accounts for a little longer. German law being what it is, though, you need to go log in even if you don't plan to play right away.
3) HEX is now on Steam, so this is Steam thread relevant, and it makes it easy for you to do said logging in.
4) If you were waiting for the promised PVE campaign, the first Act has deployed and it is actually pretty fun. You start with a very restricted deck based on the race/class combo you choose, and then tromp about the land catching quests and fighting card battles, acquiring more cards and equipment as you go. There's more to come, but the first entry is actually quite solid.
BONUS 5) There's lots of HEX to be had for free if you never backed it. It's not quite a world-beater yet, but it is pretty stable and does have a lot of fun mechanics that leverage it being an online on CCG. For example, some cards give your bear a temporary boost, a la Giant Growth in Magic. But lots of cards give a permanent attack/toughness boost, even if the card get bounced to your hand, put into your graveyard, or shuffled back into your deck. This opens up some cool gameplay opportunities, like the Coyotles who have prophecy that adds benefits to the next creature in your deck when played.
I'm coming up to the end of Assassin's Creed Unity and while it is enjoyable in places it's definitely the worst I've played so far. I already own Rogue so I'll be playing that at some point and hope it's better. Is Syndicate any good or am I better off just writing Assassin's Creed off from now?
I'm nearing the end of AC: Syndicate myself (though on PS4 because I'm a dirty console heathen), and it's my favorite entry in the series after ACII. The differences between player characters aren't massive, but it's nice that Evie is more stealth-focused while Jacob is more combat-focused. I like being able to drive carriages around London (but not racing them, that's the one thing in here I don't really like), and the combat has just enough Batman in it to feel good but not so much of a focus on countering to feel stupid difficult like Unity does.
that's good to hear, I'll pick Syndicate up in a sale after I've played Rogue
They've actually come out to near my office a few times, but it's been months and months since the last visit.
Maybe I need to swing by Tysons today ...
Also, Hex is great fun. I'm part of the way into the campaign (which is totally free, BTW; I think they're hoping it turns into a gateway drug). It reminds me a lot of the old Magic: The Gathering game with better health mechanics.
I, personally, want to find the "lobstah" and "chowdah" buttons.

They once stopped near my previous office location one day but that seems to be the only time they've stopped anywhere near me. That said for the prices places charge for a lobster roll here I can usually buy a whole lobster and eat the whole lobster instead of small bits of it so the rolls never really have much appeal.

This talk of CCGs makes me wonder: has there ever been a CCG where instead of competing head-to-head (to-head-to-head), you co-op fight against a random deck of bad things? Like, two or more people with decks fighting against a specific deck of hazards?

Once it became Free-to-Play (or try, as I refer to them) I gave Tree of Savior a shot when it opened up to us dirty Murricans. Wasn't my cup-o-tea. My Steam playtime is way down, I've been playing a lot of Hearthstone as a game is quick & easy & I'm always trying to get new cards. Plus they just had Standard start a couple of weeks ago & a new set came out.
I also moved, from Indiana to Michigan, so I was getting situated in a new city, with new internet & all the headache that goes along with that hoopla. Don't really play Trove or Marvel Heroes anymore. I did login to try out the Civil War Crossbones stuff in Marvel & meh... it was like a 5gb download and I played for maybe an hour.
I need to give Steam some love but not really feelin' anything lately. I still love games & gaming but ever since I discovered streams, I find myself having a lot of fun watching other people play games too, not just always playing something myself.
Hope all is well for everyone else.

There's lots of LCGs like that. As well as the old Warcraft one; that had some co-op dungeon decks

Been mentioned but check out Sentinels of the Multiverse. The decks are pre-made, but you're a team of superheroes against a villain and his/her hideout. Each hero, the villain, and the environment are all controlled by decks of cards. And once you try that out buy the physical one, too, because the physical game it's based on is super good, too.
Huh, The Darkest Dungeon's the weekend deal, probably for the Town Events update.
I've got... complicated feelings about The Darkest Dungeon. Aesthetically, I think it's absolutely amazing and one of the best usages of a narrator in gaming (take that, Bastion). Individual dungeon runs are always tense, and you always feel like you have something to lose. The various quirks and traits and RNG factors frequently come together in a way that makes it easy to create a compelling narrative.
But something about it lost me somewhere along the way. It winds up feeling very grindy - you keep having to go back to the same dungeons and fighting the same bosses in order to progress, and God forbid your recruits get too experienced because then they'll refuse to go to low level dungeons so you'll have to train up a new batch. I haven't ventured to the titular Darkest Dungeon yet, but everything I've heard about it makes it sound like the developers have even managed to make the finale grindy.
So... I think I'd recommend it. Probably at this price, definitely at a lower one. Just beware that you're probably going to burn out on it long before the end.

Sentinals isn't a CCG.

Hence me adding the caveat that the decks are pre-made.

Lots of CCGs have pre-made decks.
Basically, the important thing about Sentinels is you can't alter the deck composition in any way.

Thus far XenoShyft is the most like what I was wondering about. Not that I feel the need to buy such a game right at the moment. More getting a feel for how rare customizable co-op card games (XenoShyft was apparently a physical game first) exist, as well as their digital versions.

And since it appears I can only giveaway 4 games at a time, here's the code for Dead Island: GOTY edition.

Grabbed that Dead Island key. Thank you so much!! Always wanted to try it (especially since Pixie goes nuts every time it's mentioned)!
Has anyone tried Tadpole Treble? I bought it when it released on steam and haven't regretted it. It's made by the guy who did the Brawl in the Family comic! The game is about a tadpole that has to move up and down a music scale dodging notes of the song playing (which are spikey and must be avoided) and collecting doodads to increase your score. It's kinda easy and short, easily beaten in a day, but it's got a lot of charm to it. Every song has it's own theme and set pieces like frogs hanging out in the background or enemies to be avoided. I don't want to talk about it too much for risk of spoiling all the little things. I'd even advise skipping the second trailer if you check it out, as it spoils the best song in the game imo. I really think it's worth a look if you like musically inclined games.
Or just enter my giveaway (and buy the game if you lose! Or just buy it!) .
Here's something else that I have extra to give away.

In the physical space, probably the biggest one I can think of in the CCG-PreBuild-a-Deck vein is the Lord of the Rings Card Game. Doesn't have a digital version, though.

That's actually pretty spiffy! Most CCGs/LCGs/Deckbuilding games seem to be based on vs modes, so it's nice to at least know co-op options exist.
Do you like Lord of the Rings? Because the recent Lord of the Rings card game is in fact fully customizable and fully co-op. And it's an LCG, which is better than a CCG for the wallet.
Is there a way to add a collection to flag me when it gets on sale?
Do you mean a multi-game package? If so, sadly I don't think so. Like the Blood Bowl franchise package right now can't be added to your wishlist. Ditto the X-Com complete pack. Usually the component games get a sale when a bundle does, so maybe put the games on your list and take a peek when you get a notification.
Individual game + DLC will often get a standalone store page and be wishlistable, but that doesn't sound like what you're asking about?
But yes, I wanted to be able to put the doom package and the quake package on wishlist for sale. I have the games on, and am trying out is there a deal.

Knocked a Steam game off my backlog! It's the first Steam game I've beaten since March. The game was Anodyne. It was weird and OK and kind of didn't always control well with a 360 controller since I prefer using the D-pad on 2D games like this and, like many indie games I've played in the past, it only allows you to use the analog stick.
I'm not going to bother trying to 100% the game, but I enjoyed it.
Special thanks to @HeirTransparent, who gifted it to me during the Steam autumn sale back in 2013. He hasn't been around here lately.
