I was hoping to avoid the different flavors of Goku, but if they can make them different enough it won't be to bad. If Goku is Ryu hopefully SSB Goku is more Oni than Ken.
Has arcsys ever made actual costumes for the newer games? My understanding was that they only did colors because doing a costume would be the same as making an entirely new model.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

I thought so. Thats the only thing that makes me doubt that leak.

Basically, even though Guilty Gear uses 3D models, they still have to go over the whole thing every single frame and manually paint shadows and lighting to give it the proper anime look they're going for. If they try to use the built-in lighting system it tends to break and not look great.
So yeah, they could in theory make new costumes but it would still be a bunch of work.
If the leak is true, I find it more likely that different versions of a character would actually play differently instead of just being a costume. But you never know.
a bit of info about the story mode is new. they 3v3 online(!) tag battles isn't new, but it is pretty cool and another jab after Capcom just announced the modes for mvci and team tag battles are not included.
Didnt dbz also say they were going to have 34 characters at launch compared to mvci's 30? Though i guess 4 characters for like 6 months earlier is a trade i could make. Especially since i dont really have a negative opinion of the mvci roster. All i remember of watching evo is that there were like 5 out of all the characters in mvc3 that were actually used, with drdoom and magneto on like 90% of teams.
Man, the Goku statue in the FighterZ collector's edition looks awesome. $140 is a steep price though, especially since I don't know if the game will have enough SP modes to appeal to me. I'm worried they're going to lean too heavily into esports junk like SFV =/

I can't imagine an Arcsys game having light SP content, let alone the game that will pretty comfortably have the most broad appeal of anything they've done before. I could be wrong, obviously. And every fighting game dev but NRS could've suddenly gone utterly insane but I'd definitely bet on at least as much sp content as you get in their other games.
So I'm probably going to get a ps4 for when mvci (and eventually dbfz) comes out. Should I get the ps4 pro or just the regular? I dont have a 4k tv and honestly dont give 2 shits about how strong the bloom effects are. But would the pro reduce frame drops or make them worse? I remember reading the pro version does some bad things with injustice2 and sf5 with lagging and the like. Anyone have any input?
I have a pro and haven't noticed any problems with Injustice 2. I don't play online though, so I dunno. Overall the pro isn't entirely worth it I think. Boost mode is cool and all, but any real differences are only slightly noticeable. If you get a good deal on a pro, go for it, otherwise a regular PS4 should be fine.

I don't think a vehicle has ever been a top-tier fighter in any game. Not sure that Hornet even ranked that high.

Trying to work all of Goku's popular stuff into one movelist probably sucks.
An adult Gohan makes sense. They're not even the same size.
Thirtyfour seems like a decent number.
Nope.

I really hope I wasn't the only one that read this in the My Brother, My Brother, and Me intro cadence.

I never watched or read the original DB. Maybe one day.

He wanted to be called "SuperVolt". Black Lightning was Aquaman's idea so he was like "So why don't we call you Whitefish?"
