FGC blows my mind. Hopefully people take a liking to mvci after it gets released like they have to menat. Dont want it to be a dead game, there's quite a bit of time between september and whenever dbz gets released.
Also, apparently Fantasy Strike is getting a steam release sometime in september as well.

If ARC is playing for keeps they'll do the Overwatch/Battleborn thing and put out a demo or beta right around MvC:I's release to murder any potential momentum.
Complaining about bad shit and praising good shit in the same property is called not being a fanboy.
Is there anyone here that doesn't want SFV/MvCI to be good?
I kinda want capcom to go bankrupt and sell all their old IP's to companies that aren't actively on fire.
But barring that pipedream I just want them to hit rock bottom and rebound
Its just so weird that capcom is crushing it with monster hunter but everyone has such hate for the fighting games. Im like the last person who fanboys over whatever, im just more excited for mvc than dbz

That's exactly what they're doing
The DBFZ beta is running for the 3 days before MVCI's release date

Though for what it's worth, Battleborn fucked itself more than Blizz ever could have in regards to its release date. It was originally slated to release in March, I remember because I was actively following and played in the beta. Then they moved their release date to May, two weeks before OW and at that moment I knew they had no chance. No idea why they pushed it back, either. Demo/beta was really solid and just needed some balance tweaks.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

It was also a totally different style of game so I'm not sure what happened.
Battleborn was a MOBA. It was a first person shooter version of League of Legends/DOTA. Overwatch is a team based shooter that was the next level of Team Fortress 2, with more characters.
How the hell did Overwatch steal Battleborn's market?
IMO it was marketed like a hero shooter, not a MOBA shooter. I honestly went in expecting a hero shooter, then realized it was basically an FPS MOBA. Which was fine, game was fun and pretty sound mechanically. Just the marketing really pushed the "crazy hero archetype" part of it.

Isn't "crazy hero archetype" pretty core to MOBA games? Not asking rhetorically.

Honestly, to me it seemed like a hero shooter in the vein of OW. I genuinely thought it was gonna be a similar product in mechanics. The minions and stuff like that, in the buildup to getting into the beta, I didn't really give much thought to. I just wanted to play the plant dwarf guy and hit things with my big stick. I personally do not recall at any point official advertising mentioning that it was a "MOBA". Single-player and coop campaign, yes. Larger than life heroes, yes. Minion waves and economy and building shit, no.
E: Sample blurb from official website: Story Mode is a narrative experience. Choose to fight alone or along-side friends. Team-based competitive multiplayer action that can be experienced by up to 10 players online in 5v5 matches, and includes three distinct multiplayer modes.
Vague enough to be a lot of things, and doesn't mention MOBA elements.

- The Magician à la Zatanna from DC Comics.
- Witch costume(s). Either classic witch or magical girl. Likely both.
- Warzard's Tessa.
- Apprentice wizard like Harry Potter. I picture her with thick glasses and a scarf.
Her walk animation is reminiscent of Darkstalker's Lilith.
The PC mods are gonna be ridiculous.
Next character has to be Zeku. It's gonna be him talking to Menat about a "void" like Rose and Guy did in Alpha 2.

So Fantasy Strike looks like it will be out on Steam as an Early Access game in a week! I really hope they have the ability to play against friends at launch!

Fantasy Strike is live on Steam. You can challenge people on your friends list. Quickmatch is good - after an initial desynch, I had a very stable connection with no noticeable lag to Japan.
Steam ID is mysticjuicer, if anyone is picking up the game and wants to play matches or learn the game, let me know.
