I saw this was asked earlier but did not see a response (Got overshadowed by the release of "Omen" trailer)
Is their some form of log or "PokeDex" in the game so that you can go and review all the Mirages you have encountered/imprisoned? I looked and could not find anything and I would really like to go and read the flavor text for the many mirages I have taken to do my bidding.

It's called the Mirage Manual and it's located in the bedroom.
More new gameplay with some new weapons and stuff.
I have not watched it but have been told ~8:40 to ~9:05 has some spoilers in a conversation so skip past that if you don't want story info.
There's a super minor story-line type thing around 3:00, that doesn't really give anything away but might be no good for zero-info folks. It's mostly fighting with more weapon varieties than previous videos. Combat related achievements are popping as well.
Just got to the point you mention and there's some world-building info which could be considered spoiler yeah.
so if you go in the secret area near the boss zone (you have to have Smash and Flutter to get there)
Its a much higher level zone (you should probably be around 14 or so to survive easier), so its a great spot to grind levels (25ish is easily attainable)
BUT the cool thing is that Bablizz, Zapt, and Fritt all are rare spawns here. so you can grab the other ones you missed from the boss fight! Im actually trying to get a couple of each, so I can keep a set in the smaller form for using their map abilities.

Oh, now I have to go back there.
I did this literally minutes after my earlier post. Gained about 8 levels in 40 mins, and grabbed one of the guys - I'm still missing one, however.
I'm loading it up now, and I'm tempted to do a restack, as I'm still running some starter guys, even though I have better ones that need levelling. I think I'll push the main story tonight, and go back tomorrow for some grinding.
I'm totally okay with Noct. Makes sense to me as a friendly shortening.
It does sound better in Japanese, though. "Noct" is not a particularly comfortable syllable to pronounce in English, whereas the casual "Noct" with the hint of an "o" at the end sounds natural from the JP voice actors.

So went to the area in Nether Nebula behind the rock you have to Smash. Crazy EXP! Went from 14-20. No sign of the rare spawns though.

They are stupid rare.
I found the one I picked probably 5 or 6 times before a different one finally showed up, and this was at the end of roughly 3 hours.
Then 5 minutes later the third one showed up and I booked it out of there around lvl 27 or so. I'm now at the point where I've subbed in less leveled mirages so I don't one shot everything in the story for a bit...
Of course using my newfound power I went and grabbed the secret ones on the ice stage and the forest stage.

So I made it to the first real minigame in Woff, and uuuh
How do I do this cactuar conductor minigame? Is it like...a pattern recognition thing? Am I just really off on my timing? I literally have no idea how to play this minigame. And of COURSE it's mandatory.
so I guess I am the proud owner of a FFXV Ult. Collectors edition now. Just got my payment email.

So I'm still in the secret area in nether Nebula. I've found plenty of fire and lightning mirages, but only one ice. Unfortunately, I was swapping between Chibi and Jiant forms, and my Chibi forms had no ice attacks, so I couldn't catch the Ice mirage. That was four hours ago. Fuck me to death.
E: Finally found and caught one. Level 14-33. I guess the game will be trivial now. Hrmm.

For the folks that it applies to:
The Amazon/FFXV tie in promotion site is now live and lets you do those mini games

For a bit, anyways. You can always bring lower leveled mirages to make it harder.
Did you not have any ice attack items? I've been buying a couple of each just for imprism triggers. The worst is "heal lots of HP at once" though. I don't have access to Curaga, Cura wasn't cutting it...
So is there any way to switch stacks while in a battle or to re-stack? Because if there isn't that is annoying as hell.
Switch out stacks, no. You can unstack and restack at will (So if you want to separate the stack to fight individually, or recombine after being knocked down, etc.)
But you're stuck with the mirages you start the fight with.

Someone is seriously going to have to make a spreadsheet to tally up all the DLC released through these dumb promotions/preorders/whatever.
I got the Amazon road trip thing, the Cindymobile from Square's Carbuncle Surprise (yes I'm going to redeem it and try it on at least once), the Gold Regalia from Amazon, the contents of the Deluxe Edition....probably already forgetting a bunch of other stuff.
I just need to know when I can get my hands on the Behemoth jacket, because that needs to be Noctis' default outfit.

Switch out stacks, no. You can unstack and restack at will.
So you can't switch between Jiant and Lillifuck or whatever? That may make me dump this honestly; I'm really sick of try fight, lose, re-jigger, try again.

No, not once the fight starts.
It's... not really been a problem for me? I've been able to brute force a lot of stuff with magic (I have a mirage I used blank spaces on to give it multiple attack elements, and it's already strong at magic).
If you're dying to murkrifts, or the fights in hidden areas... you're not really expected to beat those first time through the area. Mostly.

Nah, it's just the constant repetition that's a personal annoyance. I can beat stuff but if I want to catch it you need some really specific stuff; same for bosses. And there's SO MANY one fight and that's it critters; to challenge them again you have to go all the way back through the dungeon.
Oh, yeah. The capture conditions. There's a lot of things with those I've just killed for now...
About half the hidden area fights, and several random encounters that have "inflict X condition" requirements.
Hidden areas do respawn, btw - I was able to refight the black chocochick after killing it the first time (not that I care, I just used my existing chocochick to transfig to it)

This is where the items from the shop come in handy, so you always have something to cause the specific effect you need.

Stack a cat on your head? Sure, why not!
No, I mean I can't even get the light to show up at all. It's just physical attacks, yes?
My first hope for the sequel is that they go the Disgaea route and have literal towers of monsters stacked high up into the heavens.

You heal it to make the light show up.
But the Libra said to do physical attacks.
Huh. I think I'm mis-remembering then.
E: I'd try healing it when it's at full health anyway.

It drives me nuts that I have to go all the way back there to read it. It really should have just been in the menu.
There's only one bed in there. Are they those kind of twins?
No, Lann sleeps on the couch. He wakes up there in the first scene.

~11:30 to 14:00 or so has quest-related spoilers.
Baaaasically, view at your own risk!
Noctis is a really cool name, don't ruin this by trying to give him a cute nickname.

It really is a great area for that.

As well as a few amusingly-stupid Trophy names.
