Been on a win one, lose one grind at rank 10. Lots of Legendary card backs too. Is it just that time of the season?
Yes. People are still experimenting with a lot of different decks so I wouldn't be surprised to see legend players at lower ranks than typical. Plus, it's only the 5th.
Also, I think a LOT of people who had stopped playing are back for WotOG, so ladder is both more crowded and more competitive than it's been in a very long time.
GvG had to be the low-point for Zoo in Hearthstone's lifetime, right? People had to go demonlock, with Voidcallers, and played a more mid-range Zoo with Implosion and Imp Gang Boss. Dark Peddler's introduction tipped it a bit in Zoo's favour, and then they printed a whole bunch of low-mana Warlock cards to bring back the aggro zoo. But even if these cards got nerfed, Warlocks could go back to the mid-range demon zoo, whose cards are mostly classic.

I know I'm weird :P and I spend my dust willy nilly and all, and I'm weird about my collection and my decks all lining up nice and whatnot
but still that sucks. at least I can disenchant them for a bunch of dust now if I want since they aren't impossible to get anymore. small reward but still overall a waste.
edit - I like having gold cards but I don't care about anything not in standard, unless of course it can't be crafted. but now it can:pop:
I've crafted golds of the druid and pally legendary for this edition because they look awesome and I think they'll be relevant almost constantly til they cycle out. I only cared about the 2 collectables because they couldn't be crafted, other than that there is nothing compelling me to have/keep them at all, let alone in gold.

You don't need Xaril for Miracle. You need Preps and Thalnos way more.

Lost 3 in a row tonight, 2 of which were total bullshit. Mage vs Shaman mirror, constant board trades and back and forth match. I clear his board and take control eventually getting a full board. In hand I've got Bloodlust for lethal, but at 8 hp. He pings my 1/1 and drops Rag. Of course it ignores the other 6 minions and kills me.
Another Mage, this time Freeze. I play correctly, not overextending but filling the board. With a full board and 29 hp, I pop his Ice Block and clear his Emperor. Get this shit, he drops:
Deja fucking vu. It would be super fucking cool if I could get a non-retarded Brawl matchup already. Two out of three games so far were a fucking repeat (different classes, same bullshit). Opponent has slight board advantage, then gets an Acidmaw from a Webspinner and proceeds to dominate the game with it.
Oh, I just opened my last 5 charity WotOG packs. Literally the last card in the last pack of 13 I opened was the first legendary I got from the new packs. And it was golden! And... it was Shifter Zerus. Could have been worse, I suppose.

Opened a classic pack, King Krush. Hit the pity timer on those so opened an OG pack, Fandral Staghelm. Almost enough to make me want to switch to TGT! (But not really.)

I'm finally making progress on the ladder by altering Loyans shaman deck into something more Crusher like.
Removing some of the early aggro drops, adding some fat in the form of elementals.
Sadly Earth Elemental is suicide in this meta (since prime C'thun counters work just fine on Crusher. As does a whole range of other stall gear, like Sap). So it's all about his cheaper/more flexible brethren.

Is it? The Webspinners are basically your card draw in this game. I feel like I'd be fine running my Webspinners into my opponent's wolves. About turn 3 is when I start cashing them in anyways.
but if you're trading right it'll take two, possibly three, turns for them to break through the wolves with 1/1s and you can snowball the board from there
I'm having a lot of fun with Call of the Wild Hunter.
It's like playing pre-nerf druid, only instead of being totally broken, it's just really good against zoo and shaman.
Also your grand slam combo is on turn 8, and it's one card, and it hits for 5 +1 per guy on board and gives you a taunt.
Just lost a close game against c'thuntrol warrior; he ended at 2 life, 2 armor. with a 15/15 c'thun on board, which had lived for 6 turns.
And a hero power from Justicar. ...I completed a Beat Down quest from 30, so at least 70 damage was dealt?

Zoo is how Blizz wants the game to be played. They want minion combat to be the primary play method.
