Once you realise it only takes a few seconds to find and kill the poison rocks the mines are trivial.
Also screw this blacksmith requests trophy. Just have to get it and wait for the right twilight mission to come around and that's the platinum done. Guys Nioh is a pretty good video game.
Nice Mere_Immortal, I just finished all the missions on hard. Need to do the twilight missions, spas (is there a way to track the ones you've missed?), and then figure out what materials I'm missing for the cheevo.
Then get all the titles. Damn this game is good. And once this is wrapped up Horizons is out. Perfect timing.

I know Sloth talisman is totally busted but lightning weapon buff is almost as effective. I usually have one of those running, so big Yokai go down pretty easy.
I think I must be approaching the end of this game. I've only got about 1/3 of kodama at this point. I should probably backtrack for those. I really want to get to NG+ for fun gear times.
I haven't even tried coop yet. There's so much to do in this game.
Using a Small spirit stone while your living weapon is active will recharge the gauge. Not as good as it used to be after the patch but it still works in a pinch

Also, anything that generates spirit gauge will slow or reverse the gauge loss over time; the big thing is the phoenix spirit: if you get knocked to the "activate spirit instead of dying" mode it drains like 1/3rd as fast outside of attacks or being hit. So I recommend not using an elixer (which still heals you) until near the end of the gauge.
Having a hell of a time with the optional fight with the dude and lady combo. Any tips?
I managed success by running around a lot and shooting dude in the head whenever he stopped moving. Try to keep the two of them as far apart as possible, which is relatively easy with how hard dude pursues you. And kill him first, he makes it easy to do so, what with the constantly jumping at you.

Before you engage, buff up and headshot the guy. Go for an easy critical hit, then just kite him around - he'll dash you at so pluck a few hits here and there. Preferably with something that hits Ki hard, he goes down pretty easily. Just avoid the occasional projectile from the other one.
when i walked in, i would pre-buff paralysis on my weapon, soon as they spawn. hit tengu with a sloth, switch to the girl, hit her with a sloth and armor debuff, then run behind her and whale hard on her back. keep an eye on the tengu, but you want the girl dead first cause she casts sloth on you if shes alive. once shes gone, fights not hard, you just need to sloth the tengu, and do the circle behind and combo his back attack. If hes flying try to get a quick bowshot or two off. Dont get greedy with the combo lengths on the tengu, even slothed they can kick your ass if you drain your ki doing combos and he gets one quick hit in putting you on the ground for follow up attacks.

Not the tengu fight.
Also how do you make items go beyond 150? I know it's a thing, just not how.
I worked hard to finally hit new game+ this past weekend before the Switch and Horizon comes out. so satisfying.
Dang.
I was trying really hard and I thought I was making good progress. Then I checked how far I was... and nope. No way I can get through to the end by Friday.
I'll admit to having used some co-op help on a few bosses in the middle levels, but honestly I was surprised cause the last few levels I managed to beat the human bosses solo.
Yeah, I was hoping to progress further before Zelda but there is no chance I'll finish it before then. Or possibly ever since my lack of skill seems to keep getting in the way.
Okay I have defeated the first boss and I am deeply in love with the single katana. The single katana in mid stance, most of the time. With shurikens to draw attention of enemies.
Also what is the deal with the (H), (M), or (L) next to armor? Heavy/Medium/Light?
yes Heavy/Med/Light
Probably just to let you know at a glance that your agility is going to take a hit.

I am not going to finish this before Horizon Zero Dawn releases tonight...and Zelda will be here Friday. Then Mass Effect...what the fuck beginning of 2017. How can there be this many good games in such a short time frame?
Thanks for that. Also curious about what you guys do with the extra armor you're picking up. So far I've been sacrificing them all for amrita. Is there something better to do with it?

In the early game, offering extra gear is typically the correct decision.
Mid-game is when you'll probably start want to sell gear to afford various blacksmith services.
Late-game, you'll be doing a mixture of selling and disassembling gear to obtain better gear through forging/soul-matching.
I unlocked the teahouse and purchased the ninja guys skin but I have no idea how to apply it to my character. The gear my guy is wearing right now is basically pajamas with pom poms attached and I'd like him to look a tad cooler.

You do it through the Tea House menu. I forget which submenu it is, but you definitely purchase and transform through there.
Fighting Tengu is hit and run, IMO. Best to be conservative.
I usually don't get hit. I do low stance katana, dash in and attack two or three times, dash out immediately as he's going to do his spin attack and then dash back in during his recovery animation. They're very predictable as they will always spin attack or do the combo into spin attack if you're close by.
If I'm feeling saucy I'll use the ghost step to dodge through his spin and stay on him the whole time, slashing away.

and i didn't even use sloth once
even on these oh boy post-game submissions

like, no fuck you. fuck you. no
they are surprisingly doable tho. i had more trouble with the tengu/ribbon chick fight than with these
I rushed the ribbon woman. She has low up and big time stagger. I hate the tengu and still don't have a great strategy for them.
The don't seem to stagger or use any stamina. I try and get a few hits behind them, but that is still tough to do.

Carnage talisman and power pellets or whatever those things are called. Add fire.

It's a random (small) occurrence from forging that also seems to be bugged.
This game is long though and is gonna need to go on hiatus when Zelda comes out which is a shame.
Dang.
