I'm thinking of power leveling an alt just so I can keep them in Draenor so I can pop in, farm like crazy, and then do stuff on my main as needed. So far Furs are my money makers.

I just realized how disappointing the patch is going to be for me. I am not all that concerned with appearence things, and with the invasions not starting for who knows how long there really is nothing to gain from it. I have tried all the new classes to death at this point, so nothing exciting there. Mostly just losing a lot of stuff. I just have to hope the ability to gear up with invasions starts sooner rather than later.

Well I guess the cheapest you can get fur for is 8 from now on. Torn between stocking up on fur and getting gold.
Also thinking of swapping everybody to tailoring. Jewlecrafting and Enscription seem to have gone massively downhill in usefulness.

I saw a SS that had the resource prices actually 4x the originals (putting the cheapest at 16). Was that like, an old version, or did they update it to be that way? I never checked, but I think the prices actually might be higher than people think.
I would not consider the trading post a valid source of mats at all come this patch. It should be vastly easier to just farm the stuff.
Also, I still think it will be REALLY hard to sell any of these things as everyone and anyone is going to be looking for a new way at easy money since most of them are gone. Unless you fancy yourself somewhat adept at the AH, you likely either won't be selling anything or selling it for so little its almost worthless.
You think consumable glyphs won't be a moneymaker?
The minor glyphs that they decided to keep seem incredibly lackluster to me. At the very least, I don't think people will be changing them terribly often, once they've found their preference.

Yeah, if they went whole hog with it and added a great deal more glyphs per class/spec, then their idea of having them be consumable would have some degree of merit. As is, it's very poorly implemented unfortunately. Hopefully they'll focus more on them in the coming months.

I think most people who even care about them will not be changing them at all. Most of the time it is really easy to pick one because the differences between them are pretty stark.
It was very VERY clearly kind of a passing way to leave glyphs in the game in some form but with no effort whatsoever. Maybe they just did it because they weren't sure they would have any other way to even keep inscription around. They came up with those boss buff things though, so maybe they should trash the minor glyphs too. I have a feeling that might happen by the next expansion, instead of putting in a small amount of effort to expanding on the customizing of skills.

My plan is to see if the trading post vendor today has fur for 4 resources per. If not, I'm just getting gold.
whats the advantage of holding onto salvage crates/bags for post patch? ive been seeing a lot of people saying that they've been stockpiling. (mind you, ive only just come back after hitting cap when WOD originally released)
This premium cosmetic item is not permanent. It fades out for a whole minute and then fades in. Rinse/repeat. So it doesn't stay on your face and is constantly cycling itself. Which of course they do not show in the video or mention.
So, like why do they do stuff like this? It's specifically a cosmetic item and someone thinks removing it from your face every minute is a good idea? I just... I honestly don't know why something like this was designed this way.
Originally there was a 32 slot bag in Legion, but it seems to have been removed. So yeah, having a healthy supply of fur and hexweave will probably be a decent moneymaker.
Set up a level 3 barn for maximum furs, and use any spare garrison resources to buy the instant work order completion items.
Or just straight up buy the fur.
There's no plan, there's no race to be run
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
I'm sitting on 100+ hexweave bags for Legion and beyond. 30 slot is pretty great and we won't really be needing a ton more anytime soon - I don't think.
I think everyone else is too so I don't expect to make a ton off them.
Can't wait to try out unholy death knight changes...more of a focus on pets and disease management gets two thumbs up from me.
Hopefully the event items are fairly easy to get...I really hate the anxious feeling of needing to go full on to get these event items, it really takes away from actually enjoying the damn things.

is it for chance at transmogs?
Yeah, as far as I know it's for transmogs. This way they don't have to dedicate an item slot to every item until patch day. Of course, if they were planning on vendoring the follower upgrade items they'll be losing money on that.

This seems like something that really should have been a "On Use" effect, but I guess that wouldn't work for Transmog.
On another note, does anyone know what happens if I start a Follower Gold mission today? When I pick up the completed version tomorrow, will it still be Gold since it was started before the change, or will it be Garrison Resources? (ie. Are they updating the current Mission IDs, or just discontinuing them and replacing them with new ones that award the Resources instead of gold?)
If it uses the same conversion that copying your characters to beta use for existing missions going into Legion, you automatically fail all active missions.

Wow glad they found a method that was worse than anything I could imagine.

I'm glad you mentioned that about follower upgrades. I didn't realize they're reducing the sell price of them and for whatever reason I have a ton of them in my bank. Time to clear up some bag space!
Blizzard's approach to micotransaction is kinda shit (Hearthstone being a weird abberation) so I'm not looking forward to a free-to-play WoW
WoW's going free to play? Whatnow?
It'll happen eventually. Not any time soon, but they have the infrastructure to make the switch once WoW has sub numbers like normal MMOs in 2030 or whenever.

That's super lame. Hopefully it doesn't cause any ships to get destroyed in the shipyard.
You also just know that there are people out there that had one of the super rare missions pop today like an heirloom ring or the Blingtron mission who are going to be pissed tomorrow.
If that happens, then if someone gets the heirloom ring mission today, then (unless they use one of those instant-complete items on it) it most likely won't finish until after the patch tomorrow, which means it automatically fails and they have to wait for it to show up again.

Yeah those ring ones are tough, and they last for like, 20 days so people have time to prepare an optimal team for it. It's entirely possible someone has it sitting there and triggers it before the patch.

So what's happening to the Proving Grounds? From what I've read, they're being updated to lv 110, but they're no longer required to queue for content, right?

Supposedly. Hopefully they will reward an artifact skin or something at least.

Personally, I just want another crack at the Proven Assailant title. For some reason, I've always had trouble doing the DPS endless.
So I played pretty much solo through Pandaria/Cataclysm/WoD... Just thinking about resubbing, even just to see the new content.
I've been checking around reddit to see what's up and I saw this in the new patch notes
Equalized PvP Gear
•Gear has been normalized in PvP combat. Characters entering a Skirmish Arena, Battleground, Rated Arena, Rated Battleground, or Ashran now receive an aura called Principles of War.
•Principles of War removes all stats gained from gear (Strength, Stamina, Haste, etc.), disables gear related bonuses (like trinket effects and set bonuses), and gives the character stats based on their specializations, and increases based on overall item level. The goal is to provide a much more finely tuned and balanced PvP experience.

Why is Blizzard so odd sometimes.

I was referring to the auto-fail part.
