Jeff is probably the guy who is the most "negative" about the game on the staff, but he also fully admits that he broke the game for himself by listening to the chat and buying all those lootboxes on UPF, removing what little carrot there was for him in the first place.
You will get a response within forty-eight (48) hours after your request is submitted and your refund within seven (7) to ten (10) days if you meet the Great Game Guarantee refund requirements.
Thought that said I'd get a Refund within 48 hours. I'm going to miss this sale
I'm guessing you can't buy stuff as gifts and then send them to yourself on Origin.
EDIT: EA's support service blows. I have no idea if I'm actually in a queue, and apparently plugins and adblockers can fuck with it. Can't e-mail and can't call.

Yeah, but if the thing that kept you playing was its Skinner box then that's not really a positive for the game.

It's more that Jeff is real big on Skinner boxes, so it may've been the difference between him playing it for 5-10 hours and 30-40 hours, which could be the difference between him being willing to tout it for the deliberations.
Well, they couldn't cancel my refund, but they WERE able to push it through immediately so I was actually able to go through with my original plan of refunding then rebuying the game with the discount code.

I put negative in quotes cause Jeff did seem to be enjoying it for a little bit. Maybe not so much now, now that time has passed, but there was a time.

Yea his biggest beef with the game was the Meta. It just coincided with that UPF where he bought all the boxes.
I never played the real game, only the web game jam thing, but I assume they did the same thing in the real game.
If so, it has to be the intro. The full screen, one word prompts in that thing were such a good moment. Time Moves Only When You Move, Take Him Down, Take His Gun, Kill Them All.

They (and this is not an uncommon sentiment) bring up fast unlocks and shallow progression flows in multiplayer games as a negative because you no longer have anything to work for when you play, and I'm like awesome I'm a fucking adult now and I don't want to play this thing eight hours a day to unlock grenade launcher mark iv 6.0 super mega so I can be competitive in this shit. Screw multiplayer unlocks and progression systems man.
I guess this applies much less to Overwatch since the unlocks are entirely cosmetic afaik. But still, if you're playing just so you can unlock more skins and taunts or whatever the heck else as opposed to, you know, enjoying the actual game then idk man that just sounds like a personal hell.

Yeah, ditto. I used to be heavily into competitive arena shooters, but the whole unlock and account progression has soured the big name examples in the genre for me for years. I've done that shit for League of Legends years ago, I'm not doing it for any game ever again.
People see "I get to unlock new stuff every time I play!", I see "they locked away all the shit I already paid for and are holding it ransom for my spare time".
That's one of the reasons I liked Doom's MP... all of the progression stuff was cosmetic, so while I was unlocking stuff constantly, I was never locked out of a gun or a power because of my level, but was constantly getting new stuff to dress up my Doom marine with.
'course then they had to go ruin that with weapons and demons you needed to buy the DLC to get.
I think there's some merit in the argument that forcing players to use a limited toolset at the start, and then unlocking new options that they can try, ultimately leads to players trying options they wouldn't normally have tried and finding that they enjoy them. It's just staggeringly difficult to get the pace of that unlocking correct for all people.

I like Rorie always being accidentally offensive, bordering on racist, and clearly no one has talked to him about maybe not doing that.
Also, every podcast he is in is the worst. Seriously. People want to talk about how Jason interrupts? Rorie is far worse. Farrrrrr worse.

What are some examples of this?
The most recent example? "My girlfriend is Mexican, she has like 34 cousins."
It's not so much overt as it is a casually accidental association. There's a few more comments that made me cringe at the need to point out identifiers lately, but I've noticed it kind of throughout the years. It's why I don't entirely call it racism, but I feel it's bucking up close in some places without an actual intent to be one.
I'm not a Rorie fan but luckily he's barely on anything I see or listen to
If he were around more frequently it would probably be enough to get me to stop listening

Rorie isn't my favorite, but I can tolerate him because I know I'd probably talk a lot like him if I were on the podcast. My mind wanders and I go off track and in circles a lot when I'm blabbing. It drives my wife crazy.
When he's not running the chat he's a lot easier to handle. Any time he is, expect to hear "sorry, I wasn't paying attention" at least a dozen times throughout.

Huh, I didn't actually know that was a racist term referring to Romani. Makes sense when you stop and think about it, really.

He regularly refers to things as "a gyp" which is a racist term referring to Gypsies / the Romani.
huh, I did not ever put that together. I bet most people haven't, it's a pretty common slang term for "costs too much" but that's crazy
This. While I'm aware that it's derogatory, and would love for it to fall out of use, I feel like 99 percent of people who say it have no idea.

Yeah, my dad has used "gypped" for a long time and I've found it challenging to remove it from my vocabulary. People in the US probably don't realize it's a slur due to the lack of Romani in most of the country. I'm assuming they exist somewhere here in the states.

A family of gypsys were actually frequent customers at the Blockbuster I worked at (and before that I ran into one or two of the family members at another store I worked at). They were all pretty nice, really. I remember that they all had very slightly off accents that I couldn't place at all, just knew they were not from Texas. I didn't realize why until some of them came in with their grandfather, who was the one who told me they were gypsys. When I mentioned the accent thing he said that was common.
Since I had to check their IDs a lot when renting videos and stuff, I also found out they all had the exact same name. When I looked that up later, I found out that was apparently a somewhat common thing they do. So there were like eight guys named John Smith in there one time.
Gypsies definitely exist and I've noticed Rorie do that before. I don't think any of his mildly offensive things are purposeful but I don't know if anyone's pointed them out to him either.
I definitely think he isn't the best when he's relaying info to the others as he often adds or forgoes important information. Rorie seems like a nice guy but he's very frustrating to listen to sometimes in a way the others are not. At least to me.
Also on the Beastcast Alex mixed up Live Free and Die Hard and the 5th one, but I can't fault anyone too much for that. I thought the 4th movie was kinda fun if pretty bad overall.

This definitely bothers me, except for that one time during UPF when he wasn't paying attention to everyone reading the recipes in IDARB and then asked to see the recipes as soon as they were done. That was amusing.
Also I don't like how he'll never miss a chance to mention how he hates Apple products. I don't care for Apple either, but the smug/lame Android warrior jokes are really played out at this point.
