Well, they're the same size I guess if that's what you mean by "close".
You don't think guessing the correct animals for each type is pretty close?
We knew what animals they would be
the trademarks from last month were for a grass owl, fire cat, water seal, lunar wing (some people were translating as bird, some as bat), and sun lion (though admittedly, I first thought Solgaleo was sun + Galileo, until someone pointed out leo as in lion)
The only trademarks that are left are a Pokemon called Marshadow (romanized like the legendaries, not Japanese like the starters) and a feature or something called Gigareki (possibly the new Mega Evolution/Primal Reversion equivalent)
Think that's bad? Let me talk to you about Volcarona.
Let me talk to you about learning Fiery Dance prior to X and Y.
Haha, Volcarona's X and Y learnset is hilarious with how many moves they added to its level 1 loadout.

Worst thing about gen 5 hands down was these overinflated evolution levels. Half the dex is like "Oh you're almost at the elite 4? I GUESS I can evolve now."

Third game is some sort of merging of the first two: Pokemon Eclipse.
Also I'm gonna place my bet now that we get no remakes in Gen VII, much like V.
I really think nonpaired versions are done
Which I realize is only true until it isn't, but still
My prediction is that Sun and Moon are actually the only games this gen as it's sort of an anniversary gen
and then we get gen 8 on the next handheld in 2018
watch me be wrong, I'm probably wrong
That's basically my thought as well. There's no way they're gonna push out a full 3-ish-year generation on 3DS this late into its lifespan and it would be even weirder for the generation to jump platforms halfway through.
I'm restarting through X to fill out the poketron in Red and maybe pick up a magical bird, and after seeing Civil War I've decided to name everything I pick up after obscure marvel comics villains.
As it turns out this is not anywhere near difficult, I've just been thinking of suitable names, googling and...yep the avengers fought some weirdo named that in 1980.
Last time we had two generations on a single system, the second generation eschewed remakes. That combined with the increasingly more narrow distinction between generations at this point makes me think they'll probably wait on Gen IV remakes until well into the lifecycle of whatever the next handheld is.
Mega stones and the concept of Mega Evolution is a main point of the plot, yes. But you don't actually have to do anything with that, it's just a bunch of people talking about it. You can just beat up everyone's Megas with your Chestnaut or whatever because combat in the main story is not particularly challenging.
gen 1 remakes took 8 years
gen 2 remakes took 10 years
gen 3 remakes took 12 years
gen 4 remakes take 14 years for 2020??
but if we assume sinnoh remakes for 3ds for holiday 2017, they would be sooner in the life of the nx (only 6 months) than bw2 were in the life of the 3ds (over a year)

huh, i guess this is another gen four situation where i only like the grass starter. weird.
better than a gen 3 hating all of them. also those cover art legendaries, i really don't like them. i can't wait to stuff them into a box, and then never think about them again. but, bring on the gen 2 megas.

Weird, I thought Gen IV was the only "modern" game to have no bad starters, personally.

i really like gen 6 starters. that was the first time since 2 that i actually liked all of them. gen five is the first gen where i wanted to like all of them, but they actually all needed to be better.

Some form of Dawn/Dusk kind of deal, maybe?
Hell, that could make a decent pair like Latios and Latias.
I'm not sure if Shadow or Mars is what we should be looking at here
both, I guess
Unless they changed the names since they registered the trademarks, but yeah, probably

Or stars/space
You can ignore them entirely outside of the fight that introduces them.
