that's a good question, Theholyest! If only we had seen his notching act in the talent show, and somehow witnessed the magnitude of his awesome skills, maybe then we could know how Braden can notch so high...
I wonder if we'll ever have a series of strips (3-5 comics) told through the eyes of Malachai Jr. Low to the ground perspective and all. I'd love to see that!
my guesstimate as the answer to the unasked: How many notches could a notcher notch, if a notcher could notch notches?
If someone feels motivated enough to actually count... putting the answer in a 'spoiler' tag would be keen.

divided the 'wall' into sixths, approximately 40 groups of 5 notches in a sixth (40x5)x6= +1200
notice the bottom right corner is not well populated yet, guess at it being -40
Braden has only three in his current group, so +3
p.s. going 'spoiler' heavy on this post to see if:
1. the spoiler tag is still broken on the comics webpage
2. line breaks inside the spoiler do anything untoward
edit: and yes, the spoiler tag is indeed inoperative on the webpage side of the comic
As a happy result of today's comic, I'm researching unary numeral systems. I thought Roman Numerals were automatically unary, though it appears that they may only be a very specific kind of unary.

How will I know it's Tuesday now?
It's one of those magic eye things, you've got to cross your eyes and look.
