As a console player tf2 never caught on. I played it a bit and the movement skills and general feel of the characters seems way more fun in this. Plus I think it'll be huge on console compared to tf2.

Its TF2 with Ults and waifus, if you try to make it more than what it is, you will be dissapointed.
That's exactly what I was expecting and was very happy with the result. There's only so many thousands of hours I can play TF2 before I just can't anymore.
They know they have a winner, not just as a game but possibly an IP that can perform in other mediums as well. There is probably devs on the team that want to see this get its own Universal Studios theme park.

So this game was somehow not at all on my radar until like 3 days ago, and I guess the hype train reached a large enough critical mass to reach me under my rock.

...then the PC community proceeded to die down pretty damned quickly.
