Dear useless Widowmaker bitching about our lack of tank:
Want a tank? Pick a tank.
Yes. Fuck anyone who demands someone else plays a tank or healer. Well, unless they just spent the previous couple matches doing so. I've been in that position.

Unless I am the tank or healer. Asking for a healer when I'm fumbling around on reinhardt since we didn't have a tank and I get flamed to switch myself.
Well, I mean, this doesn't solve the problem even a little.

At this point, I feel like people who are complaining about objectionism and sexism and the "male gaze" are just looking for attention.
You have skin tight outfits where it makes sense, for both sexes (genji, widowmaker, tracer)
And you have bulkier outfits and larger builds where it marks sense, for both sexes (Reinhardt, Zarya, Mei)
And since when is a skin tight outfit on a female character all about the male sexual gaze? You can find the female form beautiful in aesthetics, sexually, or both. And from the perspective of both sexes.
I think that argument is weak at best with Overwatch, where there is a very clear effort to provide a wide spectrum of body types, genders, and species. We've come a long fucking way in the past decade, I think it's time to celebrate those taking strides in this space, instead of finding offence where there is none.
I don't mind Roadhog because he's so big and fat that once you instinctually know the range of his hook you can just stand outside of it and plink away at him pretty easily. Just keep track of when his hook is on cooldown and you can push him around pretty easily.
my problem with that is like... most of the maps are in pretty tight corridors. There's always going to be a situation where you have to take a blind corner, and Roadhog is basically the only character other than Bastion who can just instakill you from the other side of the corner without some form of wallhacks (McCree can if he's close but hog can be standing in a safer spot). And there's the fact that like... there's no one hero that really counters the Hog, except sorta maybe McCree? 76 doesn't DPS him fast enough, reaper dies to combo when he tries to get close, Pharah needs directs to outdamage his heal (and he can hop out of the way of directs if she's far enough away to avoid the hook), Genji just sort of loses unless he's really good at long range shuriken headshots, and tracer needs to be able to dodge the hook which is beyond the ability of a lot of players.
And you can be like oh that's all well and good, he's just charging up your ult! But then he's also murderizing your team while you try and plink him down. He can whither to sustained fire from a team very quickly, yes, but in pubs--or even in PA groups--it can be rough having the coordination to get that off when he also has a team behind him doing things, especially if we just turned a corner and immediately lost someone to the hook.
I've lost a bunch of games to really good roadhogs the past few days, didn't really matter what their team was doing as long as it was something, because that could split our attention just enough for the Roadhog to just go unanswered the entire game. Which is why I've been trying to work on my McCree because drilling midrange headshots and fan are the only real ways for a person to solo a roadhog.
I've never lost on numbani in less than 2 minutes, but we just found a way. I don't think the cart stopped from the very beginning of the match. Was playing toblerone and I finished in first on damage with 3k, and kills with 2. Matchmaking is the best.

I think Reaper might be my most unliked char right now. Not because of his abilities, but because of the type of player it attracts.
Secrets, lies, and tragedy. The trifecta.

Accusing people of making complaints just for attention is a pretty shitty and disingenuous thing to do. People making jokes about Genji's butt doesn't balance out the crazy wedgies on half the female cast.
Widowmaker destroys us whole game on Anubis, desperatly ask our widowmaker to shoot theirs since she's under no pressure, i get flamed for losing the game with all gold medals because i suck apparently. This game has maybe the worst community of any shooter i've ever played.
Reaper can also explode Roadhog with a few meat shots.
Yea I've been playing roadhog a lot the last couple days. I like him, but I feel that the hate is supremely over exaggerated. I get shredded plenty because I'm huge and slow. But I also specifically aim for squishies to hook or to pull the big threats away from their support and into my teams killing zone. It's what he does but make no mistake, he dies a lot because he's a super obvious target to fire on. Now add a mercy to my back and ahahahhabah I really do feel like a one man apocalypse.
I'm pretty sure there's a list of reasons why Nascar drivers and such wear body suits over regular clothing including protection.
DVA's suits seem pretty similar.
Why can't it look something like this then?
Because the staps might get caught on her mech when she's trying to eject for a self-destruct. Similarly, you can't jump into the mech that quickly in baggy clothes.
I'm not really sure that D.Va needs a skintight suit tbh.
I can't picture her in something like Mei's outfight while in that mech. Same deal with Samus. It fits.
I think the idea is it doesn't have to be skintight. It certainly can't be bulky, but I don't see why normal pants/shirt wouldn't work.
You don't want "normal" clothes being caught in moving parts in the heat of battle.
Honestly she should also have her head shaved or be wearing a helmet. But some things are there for stylistic choices for the game more than functionality, like how WH40k games have the main characters frequently going without helmets. The body suit is also a direct reference to Evangelion more than anything.
Actually it's more than half, Pharah and Zarya are the only lady characters without meticulously rendered spandex butt cracks. There's definitely a point where you're like, come on, are all these butts necessary? Do you really honestly need all of these butts?

This. Even the men in most Mech based anime I think of off the top of my head tend to be wearing tight bodysuits.

Tight, practical clothing is not, can't be, never was, and never will be vacuum sealed.
It's just not safe or logical and its a trope I eagerly await the death of.
Exactly. Tight materials don't magically adhere to the recesses of your buttcrack and cleavage. Quit drawing them that way professional artists! Knock it off!

A good Zarya can counter a roadhog. I've ran into a few that make really good use of their shield. If I hook them and they shield, I run.
I'm glad that I purchased the Origins edition because the default Reaper skin is entirely too much edge for me to stomach.

Have you read any sci-fi at all?! Those mechs are dangerous! Of course she needs such a suit!

The moment I got my El Blanco outfit in a loot box I was instantly at ease with playing more Reaper. Those white leather gloves are just so classy.

Well there is her scavenger skin which aside from some protective padding is exactly that.
Because the staps might get caught on her mech when she's trying to eject for a self-destruct. Similarly, you can't jump into the mech that quickly in baggy clothes.

It's done for stylistic/aesthetic reasons!
You aesthetics are shit and you're a bad person!
