Hey, Icy. Thanks for all your hard work. I dunno if you hear that enough.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

I really cooled off on Blizzard this past like... ... decade. But fuck if Overwatch isn't making me think about how much I enjoyed earlier Team Fortress 2...

Reactions are hit-or-miss. Sometimes they are immediate. Sometimes they delay with error messages.

They cleared out before I hit the print screen button but, one was something on the order of a small, simplistic, 'whoops!' message and the other one was the usual "There was an error performing your request. Please try again." message that I've seen in prior times.

e: (I couldn't remember the latter message, so I toggled the agree button on one of the posts here until it showed up...)

Watching Jesse play Uncharted 4, the only game that I really want on PS4 but I don't have a PS4. Holy shit it is adorable with the married stuff and such.

I'm having trouble finding habitable worlds in Stellaris. The USSE needs room to expand, yet all we find are barren worlds, where not even the power of socialism can take root. I probably need to start building some frontier markers and claiming territory for resources, then try and locate potential expansion points.

Side note: is there a UI thing I've missed which tells me where habitable worlds are in my explored territory, or do I have to just jump around systems until I find one

There is a button on the bottom of the UI that permanently shows every habitable world.

Gotta use the Detailed View checkbox at the bottom right.

Also yeah definitely just Frontier Outpost it up early if you're having trouble finding habitable worlds. Unfortunately terraforming is really frustrating, but getting a couple 60%-world colonization techs helps out a ton. There are usually at least those near you, if not 80% ones.

I got to deal with a strange conversation yesterday. We were handing out achievement awards at school, and one of the administrators didn't want to give an award to an exchange student that had earned it, but to one of our American students instead.

Why? Because being in America should be reward enough.

Whole foods had grass fed bone in rib steak for 13 bucks a pound.

I bought two, and cooked one tonight using a cast iron skillet and my salamander style broiler.

The cook took less time than the tenting and it came out a brilliant medium rare.

I paired it with mushrooms and onions that were sautéed with red wine and wurstershire sauce

To finish it off, a small amount of truffle oil Mac and cheese with a Carmeliized cheese top.

    Angels wept.

My broil/oven cast iron style cooking is just perfect every time almost. I did filets last week.
