Jack Donaghy's plotline this season is he's dating an NYPD officer, and he's attempting to fight back against all the bad press the police have gotten lately through Stockholm Syndrome, holding America captive by making all shows about cops

That sounds like an amazing train wreck. Is Fagin Twist's police captain?
Jack Dawkins will be Twist's partner probably. He'll probably dive out of the way of getting shot in the first episode so the whole squad calls him "The Artful Dodger"
They need to hire someone really different to reboot some classic, serious cop shows as something completely different.
Like Law & Order & Tim & Eric.
Or Wes Anderson presents The Wire starring Bill Murray and Owen Wilson.

My biggest concern about S2 of Stranger Things is that it will be 9 episodes. The first season was already a couple episodes longer than it should have been.

Hey is Billy Eichner's Hulu show supposed to be good
Because the bits that have popped up on the periphery on Twitter and FB make it look really funny but I've never seen Sepinwall or anyone here talk about it
The drama, which has received a script commitment, is described as a modern take on Dickens' second novel that was originally published as a serial in the 1830s. Twist's logline is as follows: A sexy contemporary take on Oliver Twist with a struggling 20-something female (Twist) who finally finds a true sense of family in a strange group of talented outcasts who use their unique skills to take down wealthy criminals.
this actually sounds like Leverage, if Parker were the main character
I don't see anything in the article saying that the show has anything to do with cops

Take all this with a grain of salt, comedy is majorly subjective
Difficult People is, to me, very... Writery. Like, the jokes are (mostly) so crafted as to be obvious and showy. It often feels like reading a bunch of comedians' Tweets.
That said.
There are some very, very good performances/characters. There's a trans gal who is an over the top 9/11 truther who is one of the funniest sitcom characters I've ever seen. She steals scenes like whoa. James Urbaniak puts in some perfect work as a thankless partner to Julie Klausner's titular difficult person. The cameos are almost always fun and good.
So it's a mixed bag, for me, but I can certainly see it hitting folks harder than it hit me

You just described Happy Endings, which I do like
Also kinda describes 30 Rock, which I'm more iffy on. But my issue with 30 Rock is less the humor and more the lack of emotional resonance
I'm watching some stuff right now, but I might give it a shot later on. Might try to see if Van Der Werff or anyone has any reviews
"I'm telling you, I didn't kill her! I wasn't even there!"
"Goddammit, we have eye-witnesses! We have you on tape! Look at the photos. If that isn't you, who was it?"
"Technically, that's my LARP character."

Mostly preaching to the choir here but man as far as three episodes in Stranger Things is wonderful. I love that bar the effects it just feels like somebody buried it in the 80s and just dug it up for broadcast now, it's fantastic.

He's either Dickie or that weird horse boy from Hannibal to me
