Was musing over this, but this feels way more like real-ass FF gameplay to me than the almost puzzle-y style that FFRK has going where you have to kill everything as fast as possible while taking no damage to get a good rank.
I'd even like to see a console release of it like how Puzzles and Dragons had.
So, I've yet to start this. I've heard about rerolling in the beginning and all that, so couple things.
Could someone link the "how to" reroll instructions again?
And who should I be aiming to get during all this rerolling?
Please and thank you!

So that event that they are talking about, does this simply add them to the pool, or is it one of those things where they are more likely to appear than others?

Create a dummy Facebook account
Start the game, play up through when they show you how to summon so you can go into the menu, claim your tickets, and summon
Then log into your dummy Facebook account if you didn't get what you want
What you want, mainly, are characters that are lined up to get 6* awakenings in the foreseeable future
Which is Exdeath, Cloud of Darkness, Bartz, Cecil, Firion, Vaan in the current pool (And Chizuru starting on the 8th)

Point of confusion: What does logging into the dummy account accomplish?
It links that save data to the account. He missed a step where after you log into it, you log out. That returns you to the title screen with a fresh New Game save.
On the second reroll onward, when you log into the dummy FB account, it'll overwrite the current save data with the original save data you linked to the account. Then you just log out like before to get a fresh chunk of data.

The first time you log into a Facebook account, it links that account t to the Facebook account. Logging out clears the data so you can start over.
So the first time you log into the dummy account, it'll link your first pulls. Then you log out to restart. Then when you don't like your second set of rolls, you log back into the dummy account to retrieve your original data, then log back out again to clear it.
and honestly, this game doesn't seem so awfully grindy so that you absolutely, positively NEED that 6 star character right now
Also true, there are plenty of mid-high tier characters that have or get 5* upgrades that are perfectly good. My reason for rolling until I got a few 6* is that I felt like I may as well do it while the pool is relatively small.
Also when it comes down to it, all three of the story characters are great in their own right and amongst the best characters in the game.
Vaan gets Full Break eventually which suppossedly is game breaking.
Effect: Physical damage (1.6x) and reduce ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR (30%) for 3 turns to one enemy

As far as I know currently nothing is immune to that type of debuff, it always applies unless you miss due to being blinded, and doesn't suffer from increasing status effect resistance when trying to reapply it after it fades or gets cleansed.
In short it lets you take on bosses you have no business fighting under normal conditions, and makes bosses your level a joke.
There is the premium gacha, where you pull (the imaginary lever of the slot machine) using the premium in-game currency Lapis or tickets (which can be purchased using lapis or given away as part of events), and there is the friend gacha, which you pull using points earned daily by having people on your friends list and using their characters when entering dungeons as well as when they use yours.
I love Exdeath, but I hate Exdeath's gear options right now. He has butts for options that raise his magic. I'm sure things improve later, but seeing people with 220+ attack on Cyans/Laswells and at best, Exdeath can cap around 170 or so is a joke.

There is a max level Exdeath on my list that I think is 220+, I know 200+ Mag for sure. I'm guessing a max level shiva and two hero rings are involved, so is bio blaster, but I forget what else might be. His spells are doing 7-8000+ damage for me and it's pretty satisfying to use.
Aww, I was hoping Locke would be in there with Kefka. Definitely gonna pull for Kefka and Golbez, might wait for the second set though depending if there a rate up or not.

Yeah, he's a little butts until he's almost maxed with a decent Shiva.
I've seen people talking about waiting until this friends banner is over to pull, any reason behind that?
I have no idea. I'd think you'd want to pull on the banner when you can get Gil Snappers and Cactuars instead of just trashy butt units.
I'm sitting at just under 600k gil, so snappers have little draw for me. Cactuars would be nice, since I could level up the units I want to enhance. But I'm guessing the people saying that are in a similar position to the one I'm in.
And "trashy butt units" still have some half decent trust masteries, and since the characters are common, you can combine them to get those abilities.
I got Bartz, Cecil, Vivi, Krile, Maria, two Russells, two Galufs, and Bedile.

I would potentially keep that one
Granted that Bartz and Cecil are sort of late bloomers (as is Maria), Krile is really good also. Vivi, Russel, Galuf, and Bedile are all mediocre to bad. But it's not like you need a full spread of super powerful units.

Does their rank in stars have nothing to do with how powerful they become later? Just wondering as I think Cecil showed up as a 4-star, and Bartz as 3.
* Rank just means a higher number is saving you having to farm the materials to rank them up later. A time saver, mostly. A 4 or 5* unit will also have all of their skills available to you sooner, as even the "good" units, save for maybe Shantotto or Krile have mediocre access to their ability pool at 3*, but really bloom at a higher rank.
The rarity of the unit is not in the * you acquire them at, but the character themselves. Bartz and Cecil are both just shy of 1% chance to pull.

Exdeath does gain 23 MAG going from 4* max > 5* max, as well as gaining his +30% MAG passive at 5* level 20. So he seems backloaded in terms of his MAG growth.
There's also an Ice Rod you can get from the early stages of INT Colosseum that'll give the highest MAG from weapons.
Lassy, Sabin/Rain/Cyan, Kain, Fina, Shantotto and save Celes for when you want to start worrying about your 5* team and Rain for when you want to worry about 6*.

Why wouldn't I just make one party and level Celes and Rain with everyone else? Is there a strategy to leveling 5* and 6* characters?
It's more that they will feel underwhelming compared to other party members who are early bloomers. Later on you'll be able to do things like solo ADV XP vortex with a strong friend and catch them up.

Which means, once you get pulls you're happy with, you log into your real (or whatever you're using for gaming) account. Is this correct?
He's the only one with Full Break until Rain gets his 6*
Basically yes, you never actually have to log into FB, it's an optional thing to link your account so you can retrieve it
He's still rated highly right now because of Full Break until Rain gets 6* later

It's -30% to all enemy stats for three turns.
It's pretty boss.
He's also one of two characters (Celes is the other) who has access to Focus right now, a full party +40% Mag/Res buff.
And he can steal.
Basically, best support character available who provides major benefit to mage parties, but is extremely powerful in physical parties too.
Pulling friends? Wat?
There is some helpful info in the OP posts, there is this reddit guide, and there is the Exvius wiki starting guide as well.

Heal (400/600/800HP, + 1.2x/1.4x/1.6x - 1.65x/2.1x/2.55x) and cure poison, blind, sleep, silence, paralyze, confuse to all allies
Looks like it doesn't cover freeze or petrify.

Saw on the first post that Cloud of Darkness is one to aim for. Thoughts? I have 1000 lapis left.

Not great, I'd keep going if you can.

That said, there's eventually a mace that is almost as good anyway

My current party is Rain, Laswell, Sabin, Cyan, and Rydia.
Any suggestions for who to pick? I'm fine with using Rain, Laswell, and Fina when I get her.
