I mean, I'm not expecting anything incredible from the movie. The reviews i've read so far, the ones that dislike are all for the reasons every action movie gets mediocre reviews. The ones that like it are the same. So it's probably just OK. But I'm OK with that, and they were gonna get my money even if it was shit anyways so.

I don't know if the movie is good or bad but it's definitely not a movie where I'm going to read the opinions of a bunch of pretentious movie reviewers.

A flawed but likable adventure that I would happily go on again, preferably as a double feature with The Beastmaster, Legend or Ladyhawke.
Okay like
I don't know if that makes me excited to see Warcraft? But if that's the company its in, that seems like a solid time
A weird throwback to old corny fantasy
Though if that really is the company its in, they probably feel real bad about spending a hundred and fifty million dollars on it when half that probably would have done the job...
Ten years after game maker Blizzard Entertainment announced its intention to take the megahit multimedia property Warcraft to the big screen, it arrives in a striking blend of pricey practical and digital effects. As with many “high fantasy” epics, once you get past the costumes and lingo, the abracadabra and inevitable elves, the movie’s story is as simple as its visuals are elaborate. Beneath the richly textured layers of motion capture, animation and 3D modeling lie the basics: conflict, survival, family, loyalty.
While the enormity of the undertaking is evident in every frame of the sci-fi medieval-ish action saga, director Duncan Jones manages, for the most part, to keep it from lumbering. With an emphasis on craft over war, the characters are front and center, and those that are partly digital creations are among its most memorable. They have heart.
This is basically exactly what I would want out of a Warcraft flick

I was thinking about this the other week and I don't care about the quality of the rest of it I would love it forever if they included a Warcraft 1/2 line.

This sounds like a movie I will netflix and chill with at one point.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
now munkus do you mean that literally or do you mean that warcraft is a movie that you will stop watching fifteen minutes in so that you can have sex during the rest of it

Just Munkus on the couch, the Warcraft disc next to him. 2 glasses of white zin on the table, a low fire going...
Like I wasn't expecting 95% RT Score Smashing Critical Darling
But most of the negative reviews I see complain about how it is generic fantasy adventure and doesn't do anything new or exciting and
Well
I'm totally down for a fun standard fantasy action blockbuster
Yeah, it's not like we're getting yearly Lord of the Rings movie or anything. It's not at terribly crowded field right now.

I mean that I'm not gonna watch it in theaters and I'll probably end up watching it on netflix once it pops up there, or I might even put it in my DVD queue and forget about it until it arrives.
I had not planned on fucking the movie.

...clever girl.

Both in Bourne and Mission Impossible they set it up where he was going to be the star and then the original main stars are like "naw we'll keep doing this"
So now he's contractually obligated to keep doing these really minor bits in them
it was a weird choice to set him up as the new face of those franchises anyways, considering he's only eight years younger than tom cruise and he's...the same age as matt damon
you'd figure that if they wanted to maybe build a franchise around a new dude, they'd go significantly younger (and they'd also go for someone with more star power than jeremy renner)
hey since I'm already behind the current conversation, let me pop in and say that scott pilgrim is my favorite edgar wright movie, followed probably by hot fuzz

I think that since Hot Fuzz was the first of edgar wright's stuff, it stuck with me the most.
When I saw shaun of the dead a few years later, it felt exactly like the hot fuzz, and kinda lacked a lot of the freshness. And I'd imagine that for people who experienced them the other way, it'd vice versa.

Sometimes you just want some dumb standard fantasy
Yeah whatever alliance scum.
Oh good I'm not the only one
Orcs are way more interesting than the Humans
yeah this is absolutely a positive
Yeah it seems weird to expect anything more than that from a Warcraft movie of all things

It's not faithful to the source material if it doesn't favor the Alliance.
I just figured he was New Dude in the team
Yeah.
i mean all the names attached to it are totally respectable, it should definitely wind up being at least nothing offensive rather than bad
this is a 007 I wanna see
