Hey guys, this is an extension of something that got brought up in slack a week or so back. We were chatting about organising a Melbourne (Aus) meet up soon.

Anyone up for this? Was thinking that the Queen's birthday weekend might make it easier for people to attend (11th - 13th June), but dates aren't set.

Also, I feel a bit weird organising as I haven't actually attended one of these, so if someone else wants to take the reins feel free, otherwise I'll do my best .

Post here with dates you might be able to make it and we'll go from there!

Hey folks that said they could come Monday (@vonhist @Capt%20Wasabi so far) - any chance you could do Saturday night so @drusus82 can make it too? If not, it's looking like the Monday (13th June) is a winner.

Two more questions:

1. Time? Dinner or Lunch
2. Location? Melbourne CBD, North, South, East, West? Do people have cars or do we need to be near public transport?

I could do either but I prefer PT if we're doing the city.

I can do Sat Dinner, (Cant to lunch, I have a classes to attended during the day on Sat&Sun believe it or not )
But if lunch works please don't change anything on my account.

Hokay, well it's looking like Saturday dinner is gonna be the best bet for the most people. Maybe we can do late arvo meetup and then have dinner to accomodate people that need to leave early?

Also sounding like the Melbourne CBD might be the most accessible location for everyone, but give us a shout out if that's not true for you. If we're all good with the city, I have a few options to start us off - I don't know what you guys have done before so feel free add to these:

Hey guys, so it sounds like Hofbrauhaus is the popular choice (so far). If everyone is cool with that I'll go ahead and make a booking for the 11th. I just need to confirm numbers and a time that suits. @misskass I know you were going to have to leave early, what kind of time would suit you? I was thinking 6:30ish?

So can you guys let me know if you're coming, with whom, and time preference that'd be sweet. Tentative numbers are fine .

6:30 should be fine. I would prefer to leave around 8:30 - 9, just 'cause PT back to where I'll be staying that night is about an hour, though that should be plenty of time for me to awkwardly sit in the corner and make conversation with some people. :biggrin:

Hokay peeps, I have a booking for 6:15 in the beer hall upstairs for 10 people. I'm sure I can adjust the numbers as needed, but thought it was worth putting an initial booking through to ensure they have room.
