I was hoping to have better than normal performance with the patch notes that frame rates were improved for all modes but nope. Everything was very, bad... even in AI games.
Normally I'd make fun of your laptop, but in my first game last night I had horrible stuttering. I looked on the blizzard forums and someone suggesting reducing sound quality and turning off reverb. The rest of my games last night were smooth and perfect. My frame rate in the stuttery game was 90-100, too, so it wasn't an fps problem.
So I went to medium sound and no reverb. Give that a shot. I suspect the reverb was the cause.
Anta mentioned the sound channel and I was at the lowest already (32) but I didn't check reverb.
Will do so tonight!
ed: I did notice that my sound bytes were delayed a good bit whereas they had never been like that before when it was laggy. Lag was mostly just visual but the audi did feel an additional level of lag so maybe this whole audio thing is true.
And I've lost 5 out of 5 games with Chromie. She's trash!!!!
Well, actually I've just had trash teammates. I mean, there was one game that I know the point we lost. We were winning team fights through the whole game. Got our boss and it did tons of work, then went to them and caught them doing their boss and killed 4 of them, and 2 of us went down (including me). So our remaining 3 decided to do boss. Then their half-health Auriel came by and started poking them and they dropped the boss to go chase her to her base where 2 other of their guys had rezzed and they died.
Finally I got sick of QM and went to unranked and had a quality game. I think, at least for hero release weeks, I'm done with QM. I don't want to flip the coin and hope that I get on the team that has less of the idiots who don't understand how the game works.
I love Greymane, but it would be really nice if they did something that made Marked for the Kill better. Does anyone know what a good ranged poke build is for GM (if it exists)?

Auriel seems to ramp up quite a bit as the game progresses. Early on she's kind of a non-entity, as she barely heals and can't even clear waves. But once you start getting talents then she can spec into some ridiculous stuff.
The more I watch her the more I feel like I'd like playing her, but I think I'll just wait until she drops to 10k.

they've nerfed his q like five billions times to the point where it's not really all that usable anymore, so if you're going ranged you just gotta do a raynor impersonation
BTW Grubby decided Auriel is tier 1, so take that for whatever it's worth.
Do you know what build he was using? I'd love to be wrong and for her to be great.
I don't remember his build, but I've watched him the past couple of days and Auriel is incredibly powerful in his hands. Great heals, Blinds, and knockback. She seems fantastic at controlling space and saving allies.
So at this point I'd say Auriel is 100% a legit second support. She's got good utilty and good damage for a support and brings the heals in tight spots too. Really solid imo.
As a solo support I'm less sure. I think the main issues are that she's very comp dependent and feels very swingy. Sometimes it feels great, other times it's frustrating and you contribute little and it all depends on alot of factors not under your control in something like QM.
I think she really needs a nice tank and some high damage dealers to work her magic. People who can quickly generate alot of energy and who have some peel and some survivability to last through the droughts. The best games I've had as a solo healer with her are backing up a Chen or a Johanna or something. And a Kael or Greymane in the background helps alot there too.
The other thing I've found is because of how her energy works, she can be really frustrating to play and doesn't do well in many situations. Any time you are trying to disengage or poke or your team is taking damage but not dealing it, you are in shitloads of trouble. You can't do anything if you DPS aren't laying into their team. This also tends to mean she's kinda of a win-more support. If your team is doing well in fights, you will keep them up forever. If they aren't, you won't be able to heal at all. This gives you some wonky scoreboard stats between good and bad games too.
And just in general, given how much she depends on energy to do her thing, she's very dependent on your teammates to generate that energy for you so you can heal them. If they can't, there's literally nothing you can do to help them. I think this is very unique in terms of what any hero in this game is like. It's like extreme Morales, where you depend on your team to do alot because you can't do much but heal on your own. Except Auriel can't even heal on her own. It's a fun and interesting playstyle for sure but it's definitely another in their continued pattern these last many months of making more niche comp-dependent heroes.

Yeah, I think Auriel can easily solo-heal if you have the right heroes, which means Draft mode she'd be fine. QM it's a little more risky.
But I put a halo on Li-Ming one game, and I was healing at 80% energy on my W cooldown, almost, Li Ming is just so bursty.
Yeah, that's what I mean by a recent heroes being high skill ceiling and thus having low win rates because most people can't use them to anywhere near their full potential.

Yeah, moving her D around is absolutely essential to making her do real work. This also means that you need a decent understanding of every hero, because you need to know when they are going to drop their damage or when they are just not going to be doing much of anything. People will want to treat it as a fire-and-forget thing and it just can't be used that way outside of a few sustain heroes like Raynor, and even then you lose a ton of potential healing because you aren't taking advantage of the burst damage from your other teammates.
Our team was first pick/first ban on Spider Queen, I banned Xul, enemy team bans Zagara. Okay, sure. Our pubby picks Kael, they pick Kerrigan. Oof. Antaeus is like "screw you guys i'm going Artanis" and I'm like "OKAY." Then I'm like "hmmm which tank is a really good counter to Kerrigan?" and I think it was Ducks who said Diablo, so that was it man. I was in there.
Boy Diablo is a good counter to Kerrigan. Like, hardest fucking hard counter that ever was. She tries to go in? Lol nope, you gettin' flipped guuuurl. And then it's just like, Diablo+Artanis means whoever gets flipped/swapped is fucking dead.
Diablo's a great Kerrigan counter, for sure. I think double-tank is really strong against her, as well. Kerrigan's absolutely a top hero right now, but if she can't force picks with her combo every 12 seconds or so, she's in a bad spot. Diablo makes her really nervous about going in, because he can Overpower her out of position. And beefing up the front line with a second warrior is, I feel, absolutely the way to play against her. You want to try and keep your back line as safe as possible from her dives. I grabbed Falstad so we had a pocket Gust in case Kerri did manage to get hold of Li Li or Kael. Seemed to work pretty well, as neither of them died all game.
I had several disconnects tonight and one weird situation where it thought I was holding down alt or something because all I could do was ping with my mouse. Not sure if it's the game or the Windows 10 Anniversary Upgrade that supposedly has network issues and which installed itself today.

Ended up managing to win (barely!) due to a crazy team wipe post 20.
Shout-out to Tyrael's Sanctification savings some squishies and Holy Ground trapping Cho'Gall behind enemy lines. 8-)

The game really wants you to play with Gul'dan. And it really seems like only you. :P
16
point
7
percent
guldan has no movement abilities and no self peel, therefore relies on his tank to keep him alive
you like playing chen, whom has terrible peel until the very late game (at which point gul'dan finally picks up his own escape)
there's probably a correlation there
on the reverse my win rate against him is 80%
none of them take cleanse
nice
Streaming 8PST on weeknights
Gul'dan has a better winrate then like 4 or 5 other heroes. He's even above 45%. He's far from the worst.
dumb question but: have you tried deleting the Heroes folder and reinstalling the game
