! @TeeMan hit me with Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc! Thanks, man! Been interested in playing this series and I believe that's the first game in the series, so it should be a great place to start! Looks delightfully weird and interesting! Thanks again!
@Big Classy just sent me No Man's Sky and the Witcher 3 Season Pass! Holy crap, dude! Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! Can't wait to play both of them!

I just realized I am so close to hitting the 1K games mark.
So, I decided to make a full graph of my backlog evolution thorough the years using the info provided by the "licenses and product key activations" in Steam.
It was a bit inaccurate since it also included games DLCs and free Steam games I have played, but it was still terrifying:
It took me 5 years to reach 500 games.
Then, it took me only 3 years to reach almost 1k games.
Maybe it is time to slow down on game bundles for a while...
Age of Barbarian: This looks cheesy as fuck in a gloriously 80s kind of way. Also terrible. But fun.
I take a couple of weeks off the thread and I come back to this.
That looks... I can't decide if it looks awesome in a terrible sort of way, or terrible in an awesome sort of way. Either way, wishlisted so damn hard.
To celebrate a year of us playing ARK together and the launch of the new server (Which I have taken the liberty of hosting), I'm hosting a giveaway! This should be done just in time to start playing with us on Sunday.
You'll note I have also posted the first game event for the server, so now is the perfect time to organize in the ARK thread about who will be in what tribe/team.
ADDITIONALLY
There is a structure on our new map currently known as 'Skull Island'. This seems boring to me. It needs a new name. It needs an ORIGIN.
From now until Monday at 8pm (PST) I am accepting submissions for an origin story for this stony creature/god. Send it to me via PM and Monday night I will post them all, along with the top 3 entries that amuse or entertain me the most. The top three entrants will ALSO win a copy of ARK.
I look forward to your submissions.
Reminder! About to head to the airport to come home from vacation, doing the final work to set up the new server when I get home!
There's no plan, there's no race to be run

Hey, have they optimised ark any more? I tried it out on a free weekend, and it was cool but it ran like butts.
In subnautica news, the battery charger and water purifier are both as awesome as I dreamed. Combined with the first aid kit maker, that's so much grind reduction. I've got to find parts for the seamoth, then I can just start exploring.

I actually have and beat the Conan game on 360. This reminded me of it- probably why it ended up on my wishlist. It was an okay game, but more grindy near the end- that and there just wasn't a lot of heavy fantasy games for 360 at the time besides Oblivion so I had to be happy with what I could find. Though there's also the Age of Conan MMO, if you're on that much of a kick...
Bit Trip Runner
Braid
Broken Sword: Director's Cut
FTL: Advanced Edition
Project Zomboid
Saints Row 2
Shadowrun Returns
To The Moon
Trine: Enhanced Edition
VVVVVV
Xenonauts
Not too shabby. I already had a couple of others on both services that would've qualified, like UT GOTY and The Witcher (like most of you, I'd guess). Still, very cool feature of them to offer.

It's clear that @Antoshka thinks that there's nothing like "too many games" and that "slowing down" is not an option.
It's also clear that he will never stop being a (classy) monster.
Thank you very much for Cities:Skylines!

Age of Barbarian made me think of a lot of old 8/16-bit games, from Rastan Saga to Golden Axe by way of (obviously) Barbarian.
I never did play Golden Axe: Beast Rider on the 360, though. I heard it was terrible, but every so often I find myself wondering. I could probably get that for pennies now...
I find it amusing Two Worlds is on GOG Connect given the sequel had some of the most ridiculous DRM on the planet. That game asked me for my damned phone number.

Wow, I've been on Steam for 12 years and I'm only 3 away from 300. I get hung up on not wanting too many if I don't get to play them I guess. At least I have a plan of attack this time.

The gameplay reminds me of Wizards and Warriors after a fashion. (I rented it once, long, long, LONG ago.) I just hope the gameplay is actually somewhat decent and this isn't just a T&A game. Reviews are saying plenty of crash-to-desktop bugs and untranslated things, too. Might want to wait on this one.

I hit the 1000 mark sometime last year. I'm pretty sure I can blame bundles for it too. This is a backlog that will never be conquerable for me.

I'm, what- six days out from my second year badge?- and sitting at 297, myself. My goal is to get my backlog below 200 games before the year is out- to stop it from becoming a mountain instead of a molehill. Or a steadily melting puddle of ice cream instead of that twenty-one scoop monstrosity we tried to tackle yesterday afternoon...
My GOG Connect haul:
[...]
Not too shabby. I already had a couple of others on both services that would've qualified, like UT GOTY and The Witcher (like most of you, I'd guess). Still, very cool feature of them to offer.
I just tried connecting my accounts too. Initially I got 5 games (The Witcher EE, Trine Enchanted Edition, VVVVVV, Project Zomboid, BIT.TRIP Runner and Braid) but I noticed that I own some of the games you got which did not get added to my account. Then, I tried connecting a second time, using the refresh button, and got another 6 games added to my account (To the Moon, FTL: Advanced Edition, Surgeon Simulator 2013, Shadowrun Returns and Saints Row 2).
In something that everybody but a cat could see coming: I really should keep my goals to myself. Especially when @Pixelated Pixie happens to be listening.
Thanks for "Midnight's Blessing"! I've been on a bit of an RPG kick- been tackling some console stuff and putting together some things for my sister's birthday, lately.
This puts my backlog out to... hmmm... 235 games. Still managable, I imagine.
I've had steam since half life 2 came out and I've got 231 games. I still feel like that's an absurdly high number. How you guys have over 1000 is boggling to me.

Yeah, that happened to me too. I got seven games initially, then four more when I retried after noticing some of the bigger names (SR2, UT, etc) weren't there.

Thought about having 1000 games one day is just bananas.
For some reason, I want to listen to Manowar all of a sudden.
