Looking over my wishlist, there are a bunch of big games in the $25-$40 range. I've decided to only get one of these and then spend the rest of my funds on smaller games.
Just Cause 3
Metal Gear Solid 5
Rise of The Tomb Raider
Farcry 4
Grand Theft Auto 5
Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Steam Link
Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass (Origin)
I've played and enjoyed the previous games in their respective series, I'm just stuck on figuring out which one to get for now. Any recommendations would help me narrow them down.
Oh man, right after @TeeMan sends me a copy of Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments! I've heard great things about it and I've always wanted to get into the Sherlock Holmes pc games. Seems like a great place to start! Thanks, can't wait to play it!
I have a rough idea of how well birds and cats get along. Fortunately, when @JaysonFour asked me to watch some birds for him I had no problem accepting. They'll be safe here since since birds and hedgehogs tend to leave each other the hell alone.

Steam keeps freezing on me while I try to make my big steam sale purchase. I can access my library but the purchase screen freezes up and I can't go back to the store. I've signed out and back in a bunch of times and still get the same result.
Is this normal due to high traffic, or do I have a problem?
Not sure if it's worth jumping on Doom for $35 or waiting it out to see if anything else happens with it. But my understand is that daily deals are no longer a thing?
So, Dungeonmans or Sproggiwood? Both are at the same price, both are rogueli(t/k)es, both seem fairly interesting.
I haven't played Dungeonmans, but Sproggiwood is pretty much my favorite smartphone roguelike. It has discrete unlockable levels and permanent gear purchases, but it compensates by getting really, properly difficult. Even on the easier difficulty, enemies will eventually start flanking and teleporting and all sorts of insanity.

I know I'm late to the party, so I'm sorry if someone else already pointed this out, but man a lot of the games on sale are more expensive now than they have been in past Steam sales. It's a bummer when you see a game you're interested in buying, and its been cheaper previously.
Edit- Yeah, sales have definitely been better. Even last year's had the clicker game that kept me occupied for a little bit.
I was happy when I discovered that I could ban the VR tag from discovery queue.
I have 80 things on my wish list, and maybe 10% of them have been discounted down to 75% off. We're just now matching GreenManGaming's preorder price for some things.

I'd say probably MGS or GTA 5. JC3 and FC4 are pretty much just more of the previous entries to their series

So whatare the buying rules? There used to be an image in the OP.
It was very similar to Planetarian in some ways; both have a super broken military guy who falls for a painfully naive girl at the end of the world. eden* is a little less post apocalyptic, mind, and not quite as depressing. It does go STRAIGHT for the feels on several occasions though so mind that you don't play it if you're already feeling down.
The art is gorgeous throughout and the music is just the right level of melancholy.
It turns out that a Windows tablet IS just about the perfect thing to have around for visual novels - on a 10" screen, the comparatively low-resolution graphics still look pretty sharp in a way that they don't on a 24" screen. So that was a birthday gift that is going to get a ton of use after all.
To point out the one complaint I did have - it feels like it may have initially been sold in pieces that got welded together for the Steam release; it has a few too many bits that feel like "endings" and could sorely have benefited from chapter titles to let you know good places to stop for a bit. This is particularly an issue because it's a straight-up kinetic novel so your only interaction is to hit the mouse button over and over again. As good as it was, it was a 10+ hour read and I think it may have stretched the limits of my patience.
No idea what's up next. Something with explosions probably.
Looks like I might not be getting my badge for this sale. Every time I try to click through my discovery queue, I get two or three pages in and I'm signed out again. I haven't even bought anything yet since I doubt I'll be able to actually complete a purchase. It's happening on both Firefox and Edge on two different computers. Maybe I'll give Chrome a shot tomorrow.

Had some good games of Overwatch and Witcher 3 and started to go to bed when greeted by a green envelope:
Thanks @TeeMan for Invisible Inc! I know I've been so-so on xcom gameplay lately, but a stealthier version may be exactly what I need to change that up.
Now let's see, is @Heatwave getting me back for something or piling on in hope that I give up? Ctrl-F... huh, looks like a new player has entered the game. That's alright, as I learned watching the first half of a WWII documentary, it never hurts to battle on many fronts.
Thanks a lot Heatwave. I'm really looking forward to visiting Neptunia again.

Thanks, @Heatwave ! And that's what I get for accidentally putting the third of a series on my wishlist instead of the first, eh? :V God this thing looks crazy.
That means you can make some pretty rad tunes with it.
EXAMPLES i made:
Between these and your avatar series you make me wish I were more creative. Very nicely done.
Wanna know my secret?
I'm always creative.
But seriously, wanna know my real secret?
Most of my creative projects come from a place of avoidance. i avoid thinking about how depressed i am or how messed up my life is when i'm drawing or composing music. And it's not easy. I still hate about 80% of what i produce, but i push myself to show it anyway and get constructive criticisms and grow as an artist.
Really, the biggest secret to my talent is that i just do. Like Yoda said, y'know "Live free or prosper, there is no die."
EDIT: Those two tracks are the first two synth tracks i ever composed. It's incredibly easy with FRACT OSC to have cool-sounding tracks. I suggest you try it out and have fun.

When did steam implement this cooldown on purchases? This timer is taking forever.
Also, ever since I replaced my internal drives, I still haven't gotten around to reinstalling steam and my game saves. I should probably remedy that, but find it too amusing that I'm purchasing games without being able to actually play them yet.
Next level steam sale technique!
@Karoz Damn you! And right when I'm on the steam purchase cool down!
Ugh I'm so torn on what to buy. I really only have enough money for 1 AAA title or a few smaller titles - I'm tempted to go for the newer, shinier AAA title simply because I got a new graphics card but I don't think that's necessarily prudent since the deals aren't great.
So a couple of weeks ago, a little tipsy after a baby shower/tailgate party I posted about how excited I was to be playing for the #2 trophy in my sportball league. About my clever plan to shut down our opposition. While I probably shouldn't have been posting so far off topic, I really appreciated the encouragement of the Steam Thread. As it turned out, my clever plan failed and we lost. Well, the plan itself worked fairly well, but we lost anyway.
You might be wondering why I'm bringing this up. It's because @TeeMan decided to rub it in using the classiest possible method.
Are you an Eels fan? I'm going to start watching NRL just so I can send you messages after they lose an important game :P
Seriously though, Hacknet looks amazing. Thanks so much for sending it my way!

There are no flash sales and what not.
They did away with daily deals and flash sales and such. For the most part what you see is what you get now.

Sale prices don't change anymore, so the new rule is: If you want it, buy it.
I'm ashamed to admit I have no idea what that means.
