Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer shooter with objective based modes which pits two teams of 6 players against each other. Backstory -

Welcome to Overwatch™ Soldiers. Scientists. Adventurers. Oddities. In a time of global crisis, an international task force of heroes banded together to restore peace to a war-torn world: OVERWATCH.

It ended the crisis and helped to maintain peace in the decades that followed, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery. But after many years, Overwatch's influence waned, and it was eventually disbanded. Overwatch is gone… but the world still needs heroes.

ULTIMATE ABILITY: TACTICAL VISOR - Soldier: 76’s pinpoint targeting visor “locks” his aim on the threat closest to his crosshairs. If an enemy leaves his line of sight, Soldier: 76 can quickly switch to another target.

    Orb of Discord - Attaching the orb of discord to an opponent amplifies the amount of damage they receive for as long as Zenyatta lives. Only one opponent can suffer the orb's effects at a time.
    ULTIMATE ABILITY: TRANSCENDENCE - Zenyatta enters a state of heightened existence for a short period of time. While transcendent, Zenyatta cannot use abilities or weapons, but is immune to damage and automatically restores his health and that of nearby allies.

    So I've spent this week learning lucio, roadhog, symmetra, and torbjorn. I really liked symmetra and got pretty good with her. Did ok with lucio but always forgetting to wallslide. D.va is up next. I really like how it takes a bit to settle in with each hero but once you do, you really start to get efficient and feel pretty powerful. I've also seen how some heroes have lessened over the week like widowmaker.

    I'd like to see a Domination-type game mode for this game later on. The CoD variant, where there are three points on a single map, and you accrue points by holding more points at one time than your opponent. It was pretty fun in Destiny also, and pushes you to various spots in the map to attack or defend.

    However the game would probably need totally new maps to support this if it ever became a thing. I don't think any of the current maps could support three spread out capture points. Well, maybe King's Row or Numbani would work.

    Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

    So apparently according to that website the only characters I'm any good with are D.va at 20-12 and Soldier at 10-4.

    Pharah is 14-14, and Mercy is 16-19 (which given my initial 10% winrate on her, is a pretty big improvement). Everyone else is ~30% winrates or worse, which feels right.

    Also I enjoy that it cares about your K/D on Mercy. .5 so sad.

    Yeah. A lot of HL-Counterstrike and Bad Company 2 here. Hundreds of hours in both. At least...that's what I tell myself. Maybe I'm just old and useless now :)

    Oh you can't go by winrates. That's too team dependant. In fact, really the only thing you can do with this is improve yourself because so much of it can tank if your team blows. I've been really fortunate by playing with PA folks so we don't lose too often, but when we do it's usually hilarious.

    Haven't mastered the boop yet on Lucio, but I am good at being in the middle of scrums. My TF2 Spy experience has definitely been useful on Genji, even if there's not a stealth or disguise mechanic, flanking and harassing with shuriken and unexpected angles is so much fun.

    played one game with @Griswold where I was Roadhog. I did 46% of the team's damage. We, uhh... we did not win.

    I'm not sure how well that would work because other shooters have everyone moving at the same general pace with comparable lethality. This allows people to move freely and attack points as needed. Also regenerating health allows people to stay mobile and fighting.

    In Overwatch only a few characters will really be able to go with the round's ebb and flow properly. The game is built around MOBAish team fights and roaming concepts. The modes we do have intentionally keep people fighting over a centralized location to enforce that dynamic with choke points to funnel the action. It's why even the multi-cap modes are done in stages.
