Am I the only one that got a huge boner playing Halo 2? I mean, not to be totally disgusting, but come on? It was possibly the most beautiful thing I saw this weekend (aside from the frag dollz and the girl getting her boobs signed by the minibosses). I just wanted to know that I wasn't alone.
Well, I thought that was just assumed? Now, the frag dollz and the chick with her boobs out for the minibosses, that was not so metaphorically, but I don't feel a cardboard box should be privvy to that kind of information, even if he was interested.
i sold all my consoles a while ago, becaues i never really play them anymore and i really needed the money. right now all i have is a GBASP which i am quite please with. i keep thinking i'll get an xbox again when halo 2 comes out, but then i think 'why would i do such a silly thing when i can just go to someone's house and play it for free?' i'd rather get something cool like a dreamcast for 20 bucks.

Meh. I played it for nearly an hour at my brothers house and it felt just like a shinier version of Halo. Sure, it was fun, but it was just Halo.

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.
Well, the closest friend that has an xbox is like an hour away, so I think I'll just buy my own and play over live. as for dreamcast? hell yeahs. That game is freakin awesome. I'm actually really pissed at one of the fragdolls. the bitch wouldn't let me play splinter cell. I waited for like 20 minutes, she wouldn't give up the controller, so I just took some pictures of the game instead.
You also kind of have to take into account that I just discovered the first Halo not even 3 months ago. Never played an xbox, didn't know anyone that owned one, and didn't live around any place that I could check one out. That, and the Nintendo fan boy in me kept me from even wanting to support it. So, this game that people have been fawning over for the last 3 years is brand new to me, so while it's just a shinier version of Halo to most, it's a golden nugget the size of my head to me.

i noticed they seemed to be hogging those consoles when i was walking around the hall
I just wanted to slap her around all like "Bitch, I don't need you showing me all the shit YOU know how to do. You work for fuckin UBI, so I'd expect you to know that shit. Now give me the fucking controller before I go metal on your ass". But I'm a geek, and I'm scared of girls, so I didn't say shit and went and played Forza instead. God, I wish I had something to burn that game out of my head, besides Matrix and Conker.

yeah, everyone seemed surprised that they were really good at BA or something...but, they work for Ubi.

If your huge boner was the most beautiful thing you saw this weekend, then yes, there is something wrong.
Ok, I think I may have worded that way incorrectly for this crowd. Oh well. Shit, I STILL haven't been to sleep. I couldn't sleep on the plane, and the cold I got this weekend kept me up all night long. So, I've been up since 8:30 Saturday morning, and I'm about to die, but I can't sleep again, for whatever reasons.
I was one of the people doing the betatest for HALO 2. Now that the beta is over, I find myself anxiously pacing the house, trying to decide if I should pick up some other game just to tide me over until 9 November.
The game will be good, and I miss it before the darn thing is released. :x

That's pretty much what I thought it would be like.
In fact, when I was watching The Wizard, my friend called me.
"Dude, they're showing Halo 2, where are you?"
"I'm in the theater."
"Don't you want to see Halo 2?"
"No."
"Oh, okay. Bye."
i decided to not even try seeing that I have a few months packed with games coming up where I won't even have time to pause and wait for the game to come out
You guys didn't notice that Splinter Cell wasn't being played by ANYBODY other than the frag dolls and the ubi guy? That's because when I actually asked the guy (the UBI guy) he said it wasn't playable by the public. In fact, I noticed that part of it was being drivin by the laptop between to two debug xboxes they had for it. None of the menus etc even worked n the game, he controlled everything like that from various batch files on the laptop. The only reason the Frag Dolls were allowed to play is because, you know...UBI wanted them to.
So no need to fret over it, nobody got to play the new Splinter Cell but them and the UBI guy. However, it was awesome to see it in action and it will totally kick ass when it comes out next year.
Edit: He even said that it was a very specific path and certain things that could be done in their showable demo. Lots of rooms if you were to walk into them would have NPCs just standing there not doing anything etc. Lots of stuff not implemented and/or functional. He said unless you knew exactly where to go and what to do it wouldn't look very good Hey, that's just what he said, lies or truth unknown.

It is true that Splinter Cell 3 was a controlled demo. The SC3 associate producer was the cool guy with the accent who was demoing one of the machines for both days. Ubisoft employees and Frag Dolls rotated in to help on the other station as needed. There was never a random person playing it, because we did have to follow certain paths and try to demonstrate certain moves for the people watching.
I didn't see anything during the Halo 2 demo which impressed me more than:
a) Half-Life 2 trailer
b) Unreal 3 trailer
c) Five minutes with Doom 3.
Maybe you have to have read the Halo novels or something to get excited about Halo 2, but I've felt like Halo has been overhyped since the beginning - it's a good game, but so is Serious Sam.
I agree with Borface that the Frag Dolls shouldn't be fawned over. Just because they're girls doesn't mean they should be patted on the back everytime they don't suck. They should be treated like other gamers, and in the case of the Black Arrow tournament I think that means they deserve props. I also think they deserve respect. Borface treats them like they're some sort of trap or illusion, but these girls weren't grown in tanks in a basement beneath Ubisoft. They're sponsored GAMERS with minds of their own. In dismissing the Frag Dolls because they're sponsored gamer girls, Boreface is only proving that he doesn't respect girls as gamers. In my opinion, people like Boreface are why we need the Frag Dolls, because they'll hopefully prove that girls are good gamers, and silence the sexist bastards that seem to pervade videogame culture.
Borfase, I just want to clarify that I wasn't calling you a liar or anything. Most of the Ubisoft guys just weren't dressed up or anything and looked like normal convention-goers, so I was just saying that those normal-looking guys were probably Ubisoft people.
Anyway, don't get too worked up over it, Belacua. I know Borfase doesn't have a thing against girl gamers because he gets along great with MulysaSempronius, who is a girl gamer. It's more the perception that we're brainless girly girls, and while some of us are undeniably girly, only time will show him whether we're brainless or not.
We really don't need to be fawned over and told we're doing well when we're not. As a girl, I get that all the time on LIVE and I have to wreak some havoc to get the other players to even try to kill me. It's best just to be treated fairly and get a chance to prove ourselves against players who are cool with going against us and who will try their damnedest to win. That way, when we do something noteworthy, we deserve the credit we get.

you're right, i shouldn't be such an asshole to you guys. the thing that annoys me though is just how (no offense to your group or anything) guys automatically start fawning over girls that play games, and that's what it sort of seems like to me.
i was being an asshole earlier, you guys seem like a swell bunch.
Fawning or not, it's kind of funny to me that guys are still willing to disembowel each other over them.
Although we can't help if we "appreciacte" the Frag Dolls on a certain level, everybody here knows that at the end of the day they're just gamers. At least I assume everybody here knows this because it's also been demonstrated that Ubisoft didn't just go out and recruit some girls who look good holding a controller. I wasn't there but I understand they really cleaned up in the tournaments.
No sorry. I seriously know where you're coming from. We *do* get a lot of attention for being girls... hopefully we get it more for being good, though. Either way, if we do what we're trying to do and show girls they don't have to be intimidated by the "male" genres there will be so many girls playing that no one will think twice about fawning over one just because she's a total rarity. Then prepare for girls fawning over boys because they're so rare! j/k
If you guys weren't good and weren't whooping people left and right I would have thought you were just booth babes, a lame gimmick even if you played games for fun, and would hold the same attitude as Borface here. I would basically look at you guys the same way I look at G4TV and Gphoria with their special hosts of Anna Nichole Smith and Jenna Jameson who have nothing to do with gaming and are an insult to me personally as a gamer not to mention I wouldn't touch those women with a 10 foot pole if someone else was holding it.
That's the kind of crap I can't stand in the game industry when it comes to attractive girls. If they can't play games don't even insult my intelligence. Gamers while in a lot of cases anti-social and not always the first to attract the attention of women aren't so desperate as to watch a bad game award show because they put a has been playboy model in cosplay outfits for characters that look nothing like her body type. It might have worked to get other people to watch it who have not interest in games but it made me change the channel and it only took me 6 seconds to change the channel when I ran across that crap. Now they got Bloody Rayne in Playboy which is a further insult to the gaming industry and gamers and what they think will sell games, with this new "forget legitimate gameplay, more boobies" philosophy. It doesn't mean female characters shouldn't be attractive, but dang it if she's in an RPG and as a warrior what in the world is with the bare midriff and leather shorts. BRA does not stand for battle-ready armor, sure she looks hot in it, but what woman, especially a warrior worried about not having her entrails spilled out on the ground by something sharp, would wear something like that while adventuring. She should be wearing armor just like the guy, maybe lighter, of course custom to a more feminine shape and it can be attractive in a feminine sort of way but don't have me believe her adomenen and thighs are nigh invulnerable. I understand its primarily a male audience and a guy would rather have to look an attractive female figure then an unattractive one in game(I imagine same goes for the girls towards guys) but flaunting it to the unrealistic measures they do things now is idiotic and does not influence my decision to by a game. I buy for the gameplay, I played Prince of Persia: SOT because it was the best translation of the classic ones and had awesome gameplay, not because Farah is hawt and walks around in harem garb. Same goes for 007: Everything or Nothing, great game, I could care less if Shannon Elizabeth or whoever is a Bond girl in it. The list goes on.
I loathe G4TV and what they did to TechTV, Morgan Webb is the only respectable female on there so far that I've seen and thats cause I know she is genuinely a gamer and not some porn industry reject the rest of the staff seems to be. I remember she was on the Screen Savers and would bring up gaming all the time and talk about her favorite games randomly, so the natural choice for TechTV was to move her to X-play, and then she got all the flack the Frag Dolls are getting now because she thought she was just some hot girl for gamers to lust after and get them to watch the show ignoring the fact she had legitimate credentials and not knowing anything about her background having not watched the show. There's a good roll model for the Frag Dolls (except the Maxim shoot I lost respect for her for that).
I was really surprised that she did a Maxim shoot. Did any of the TechTV girls end up doing that Playboy spread I heard about a while ago? ... interesting trend.
Perhaps it's a mark of how jaded I've become about female gamers posing for such publications, but I didn't lose any respect for her after that. All I remember thinking when I heard about it was "Well, at least it wasn't Playboy like Stevie Case."
edit: I actually just looked through a bunch of those guy mags, and Maxim was the most respecable, so kudos to her for choosing that one. She could have done much worse.

I say it regaurdless, but shit...thats some funny stuff.
gamers or not...if they arent there, ill hire hookers.
