In grade school (I was 10 ish?) I had this friend who invited me over to watch "the Power Rangers Cartoon" as he called it
"Power Rangers is live-action"
"Yeah I know but they made it into a cartoon and it's so much better"
So I go and he turns it on
And it was Voltron, Defender of the Universe
From what I've heard, the design of the original Megazord(aka: Daizyujin from the Zyuranger sentai series) was partially based on Golion, so that'd be why so many people find the two mechs similar, I wager.
I'm 36, so pretty much the perfect age for Voltron. I don't think I ever saw it on Saturday mornings, though. It always seemed to be an afternoon, after school cartoon where I lived.
FUCKING BASTARDS OH MY GOD YOU COCKTEASE SONS OF BITCHES HOW FUCKING LONG IS IT GOING TO BE BEFORE SEASON TWO HOW DARE YOU DO THAT YOU MOTHERFUCKING AMAZING STORYTELLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is the show gonna be available anywhere besides Netflix eventually, or is that the only place it'll ever be? I don't know what the standard operating procedure is for Netflix shows.
Some Netflix shows have a DVD/blue ray release, but that's about it.
Having exclusive access to the shows is kind of the whole point in making their own shows.
With Hulu and Amazon, and more networks putting their shows on their own streaming sites now, Netflix isn't quite the monopoly it used to be, which is probably part of the reason they started making Netflix exclusives.
So, does anyone find it odd that Allura wears her armor when she's manning the bridge in a fight? I don't really see a point to infantry armor in that situation.
I'm wonder whether it's just supposed to look cool for the viewers or if there's supposed to be a practical purpose to it.

You'll notice that it changes from the dress to armour between scenes when there is no opportunity to change in between. I'm pretty sure that the dress and the armour are the same outfit, it just changes to match the situation.
Considering the bayards change to match the user, Hunks suit clearly expands to fit him (he's even confused about this in a great visual joke) and what we learn later, I'm pretty sure that transforming outfits clothing and weaponry is the norm for Alteans.
Especially when we learn they can shapeshift, and black paladin Bayard is possibly the best example of this.

I probably misremembered it.
It's been decades since I watched it on TV.
(Dear God, it's been decades)
To quote myself from the D&D chat a week ago...
*ahem*
There may be a reason I'm stalking this thread.
Yeah. They skipped the first episode, and then chopped up the next few like crazy to try and edit out the violence.
And then gave up I guess, cause that show starts out violent and ends up VIOLENT.
I'm of the camp they do. others may not agree (which is fine!), but even from the first episode there's a lot of stuff pointing forward.
Nope
nope
canistream.it says it's on Xfinity On Demand and that's it
Satans..... hints.....
just checked, it is not
Really good first season though
Sure hope they actually get to make more episodes.
Ah yep
That's the ticket
but then I realized I don't think I've ever seen GG change his avatar so that would probably be sacrilegious
I could be mistaken, though.
Nope, I'm on my phone right now, when I get back to my comp I'll pm you

I'm thinking maybe Coran

Oh hey there CD. Sweet AV/sig you got there.

I made it myself!

should we try and form Voltron
