Hi, everyone! My inbox is currently melting its face off, but I wanted to pop in and just say thank you for all the kind words, and of course for just being the most amazing community to be a part of.
Although I often get credit for keeping the forums alive, Tube, the admins of yore, and the team of amazing mods did all of the planning... execution... uh... I guess they did everything. I just sort of paid for it and waved my hands around. Anyway, I wanted to say thank you for the last 14 years. It's been amazing, and I'm sure I'll catch many of you around. You're the best, and we couldn't have done all the things we did without you.
Good luck, Khoo! I'm glad I got the chance to touch your butt.

I wonder what Mr Khoo is moving on to now? There's plenty of companies out there that need a shot in the arm! Hewlett Packard? Target? Fiat Chrysler? Comcast? Microsoft?

I've spoken with Khoo twice - once at the Prime group photo last year, and briefly over the phone as he invited me to be an Omeganaut at South. The first was really nice, and the second was goddamn terrifying.
I appreciate all the work you've done to build this community, and wish you all the best on your future endeavours Khoo!

At the PAXAUS photo in 2014 he planted his butt squarely up against my groin (before shifting over to have @cuzza share his weight too)
It was not an unpleasant experience. Not at all...
Thanks for all the hard work you've put in to make this community a great place, Khoo, and for everything you've done to make PAX as good as it is. I hope your next endeavour is just as rewarding, and that I might see you at another PAX sometime in civvies!
I'm not always a particularly sentimental person, but Penny Arcade has been a very important constant to me for the last 17 years. The strip, PATV, and all the things under the PA umbrella, well, they get me through sometimes. A lot of times. I can't think of any other thing that's inspired me or given me more joy for this long. So thank you, Robert, for helping build this company and community to be what it is. And if I may extend my gratitude to everyone else at PA who has and will continue to create, do great things, and be there.

Hey Robert,
Thanks for all you've done for Penny Arcade. I've been here for over 14 years now and because you helped hold this place together, I've made my best friends in life through this forum.
I've had immeasurable fun at PAX because you made PAX happen so I got to meet those best friends. I still remember when I met you at the first one.
Thank you for putting together Child's Play for the insane amount of good the charity has done and also for the opportunity to feel like a bigwig once in my life in a tux at a fancy charity dinner.
Thank you so much for the couple of times you've helped me personally or have taken the time to answer emails.
Even though I came off as such a dope during it, I still treasure the time you let me and my cohost come to your old office to be interviewed for my little podcast when you and PA were already so clearly way above our rinky dink operation.
I wish I had gotten the opportunity to get to know you better and be lucky enough to call you a friend like some others here have because you seem like such a great guy and not for fanboy reasons. (ok, at least a bit for fanboy reasons)
I wish I had been able to work with you more when I was still at Valve.
I'd wish you good luck in whatever you do next, but you clearly don't need it.
Take a big long break, because you've earned it. And don't be a stranger now, y'hear?
I met Robert at New York Comic Con back in 2008 (I think) and the man was gracious enough to respond to my by name (which he knew without having to stop and think because he's the Illuminati). VisionofClarity and I were on the escalator hoping we weren't going to be late to his panel with Scott Kurtz on the business of webcomics when I noticed he was right behind us. Later I took a photo with him.
I didn't know at the time but they PA crew was planning on bringing a PAX convention to Boston at that time and so I got to attend a few meetings with other forumers while that was being planned for 2010.
Khoo has always been one of those guys that makes you feel like you're the most important person in the room when he speaks with you.
At this point I think I would actually be disappointed if he wasn't bringing his talents elsewhere. I feel like he's done just about everything one can do with some random 3-panel comic on the web about guys who sit on a couch and play video games.
What I'm saying is, I guess, I am very excited to cast my vote for him in November.

Thank you, @Robert Khoo for contributing hugely to the place where I built friendships that will last a lifetime, including meeting my husband. Even if you don't maintain the forums, you're a huge part of the reason why I even knew PA was a thing that existed, and you would've been instrumental in giving us a PAX in Australia that's become an annual event for connecting many of us Aussie forumers.
A measure of success is to build something that doesn't need you any more, and very few people get to reach that level of achievement. We have always admired how you give this job your all and still had time to pop out to join us for things like a PAX photo or sort out a pass or even just hang out chatting. All the best to you and your future; we'll definitely miss seeing you around at PAX!

Thanks for everything you've done, Khoo.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
We only met once at a PAX East in 2011, you took a photo and sat down and tried to eat lunch with a bunch of us forumer folk (I think you got called away on urgent business). You were super kind and in your mild interactions on these forums you've always been great. Thank you for making a place that I've been able to call myself apart of these last 12 or so years. It has meant more to me, and I am sure many others, then I can properly express. Thank you, good speed, and I would say good luck but from what I can tell, you don't need luck, you have skill.
I've been reading PA since it was a thing. I've been lurking in the forums since God knows when. Even so, Khoo is the reason I have my own business, in a really hard but worthwhile industry. That man taught me that you can do something well and do something right. Something that holds people together. Never met the man, but he's always got an open tab in my little grassroots music venue.
Man Khoo, as an [E]nforcer (... though I missed the re-app deadline this year. In my defense, I was dealing with a lot of stuff), I just... you would show up with your backpack and just... bring calm to stormy seas. It was cool. You were cool. I hope you do good.
Many years ago, at Pax Prime Prime, my girl and I found ourselves without bracelets for the Minibosses concert. She saw someone official looking walking around carrying a few, so she raced away and made puppy dog eyes at the poor soul until he handed over two of them.
Thanks, Robert, for brightening our day and for dragging Gabe and Tycho kicking and screaming into success. The Penny Arcade community is the best part of the internet, and you've been a major part of making it that way.

Khoo bought us alcohol at the last charity golf tournament, while we were playing.
Now I won't claim that this was all a clever plan to take us out of the running, but I will say that I came in dead last on the leaderboards...
it was such a little gesture, but it meant a lot to me
