LWT won the Emmy it obviously deserved as soon as Full Frontal wasn't nominated. Probably deserved it regardless, but a harder choice with Bee in the field.
Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.

There's a lot of comedy on in Toronto right now (JFL42 festival). A friend of mine saw Trevor Noah - said he was good but didn't really expand on that, so...
As far as Daily Show people goes, on Friday I saw Ronny Chieng and Hasan Minhaj. Chieng was good, pretty standard stand-up with some good jokes but a fair amount of low hanging fruit. Minhaj was outstanding. If you get a chance to see him I'd recommend it. Very funny, goes to some poignant places. There were a couple times where he'd tell a joke in... I assume Hindi, but maybe Urdu or Punjabi? I don't know Indian languages. Anyway, some setup where he'd say it and then pause before repeating in English in a way that felt tailored for, well, a not Toronto audience where half the crowd could speak... let's go with Hindi. It was kind of fun. Laughter in waves.
Probably. I was going to just write Punjabi, as that's the Indian language I've actually heard of, but did a quick wiki check and saw that Hindi is most spoken, and Urdu most among Muslims... I was basically trying to come off as least ignorant as possible.
Edit: though checking the wiki for Toronto instead of India, it's Punjabi 2.8%, Urdu 2.0%, Tamil 1.9%, Gujarati 1.1%, and Hindi doesn't crack the top twenty. California seems to be Hindi 0.38% and Punjabi 0.31%. So probably Punjabi... unless the languages have a lot of similarities to the point where one speaker can roughly understand another. (Like "Brea, bûter en griene tsiis is goed Ingelsk en goed Frysk" being Frisian for "Bread, butter and green cheese is good English and good Fries".)
Oatmeal raisin cookies just make me with it was hot oatmeal and re-plumped raisins
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.
.Jordan Klepper's "man on the street" type segment the other night was pretty great;
Where they start off with the joke of "Ha ha, no one knows anything about the VP candidates and they're basically the same", and then a few people actually are informed, and drive home how awful Pence is. Then they reveal that those people are actually qualified people they brought in to interview, and that they did it that way because viewers are more likely to watch random people on the street saying dumb things.

Oatmeal cookies are my raisin d'etre
I once wrote a very short, snarky story I made up called Cookie Quest.
In it, the evil Raisin King was trying to ruin all cookies forever and it was up to Chocolate Chip and Thin Mint to save the Cookie Kingdom.
Cause fuck raisins.

Hillary is like having a couple of raisins in your cookie.
Trump is like having it be more rat turds than dough.
MWO: Adamski
Oatmeal cookies are awesome.
When made with chocolate chips.

The whole show last night was amazing but that segment would have made me weep for humanity had I not stopped caring about us a long time ago.
The new cast really seems to have come into their own. It's been really good through this stretch.
Yep, it has really hit its stride, and I'm starting to see some genuine anger in Trevor.
