Saw ST Beyond this weekend. It was generally fun. For good and bad the movie could've been a short arc on a Star Trek TV show.
CGI and Set quality was all over the place. Everything in Space was fine I think, while on the ground much of it had TV quality.
Most of the fight scenes were not shot very well. Like the only one where it was easy to follow the action was
Jaylah versus the right hand bad guy.
Question:
It wasn't explained how Krall got enough people to crew the thousand upon thousand drones that attacked Yorktown, right? Especially when on the planet it seemed he had maybe a couple of dozens of soldiers.
All in all it's a movie that mostly relies on its main characters to cover up its other deficiencies, which worked for me most of the time. It doesn't rech the highs of TFA but also doesn't have flaws as grating as some in TFA .
Has anyone caught Hillary's America? IMDB 6/10 RT 4% critics there must be some type of liberal agenda keeping it down amirite? I was recommended this as a decent docudrama by a bud and the reviews at first glance are all over the place.

Answer:
I believe the guys piloting the ships are also part and parcel of the drone workforce he mentions
We never see them display any autonomy

I think any of the bad guys without helmets, that had faces and such, were people they'd captured and turned into the vampire things with the planet's tech magic. The ones in the glowy helmets were drones. The lieutenant bad guy and the bait scientist seemed to be the other two original Starfleet survivors.
Speed Racer saw it with his dad. He said that even his ultra conservative dad found it heavy handed. (I couldn't find the original post so I'm paraphrasing)

welp
my dad is literally begging me to take him to the new dnesh dsouza movie
it is the first time he's wanted to leave the house in
i don't even know how long
my options are to be a terrible son or two expose myself to two full hours of intellectually bankrupt hate-filled nonsense
just
fuckin' great
any way you can tell him you're taking him to that movie and then just bring him to, like, Ghostbusters?
the man watches fox news like some people watch their favorite sports teams
he listens to talk radio like some people listen to music
this movie is a bigger deal to him than Star Wars was to 95% of the general public
and in spite of all this
this man, who flips between reading breitbart and watching fox news while binge listening to rush limbaugh
thought the movie was excessively heavy-handed and presented bad arguments
biggest laugh of the film is a tie between:
"Democrats like to frame the civil war as a battle between the North and the South, but really it was a battle between Republicans and Democrats"
and a sequence that implied that the Democrats used John Wilkes Booth to murder Abraham Lincoln
basically the entire movie hinged on the desperate, desperate hope that you've never heard of The Southern Strategy

i watched xXx again a couple months ago
it holds up! every aspect of it. go watch it everyone
i was sold on the xXx movie when he drove a motorcycle on the water and like, up waves, like that isn't a completely insane what is even happening moment??? also he skies through the branches of a forest?
i assume at one point he wingsuits underwater (actually this sounds rad, what if he wore like jet boots or a jet backpack or something dumb oh shit i need this now)
Well he's not really the funnest "fun" actor, he just kind of reads lines in flat infrasound tones while knitting his brow, he's not Nick Caging around the screen or anything

That analogy wasn't the best... It's the shark in me though.
I saw Jason Bourne today. It's definitely...fourth best, out of the Damon Bourne movies, and it spends most of the movie looking for a reason to exist.
They kill Julia Stiles in the first big chase sequence of the movie, and then completely forget about her, and they fully don't give a shit about the woman from the first movie, which is super unfortunate. And then they take the guy who killed Julia Stiles and have him be the one who also killed Jason Bourne's dad, which is a story beat we only learn about in this movie that...I dunno, is supposed to be a reason Bourne is doing anything? But he doesn't really seem to give a shit about it?
It's a better belated, unnecessary sequel than Independence Day 2, given that the Bourne series can at least plumb some relevance from current events (they name drop Snowden like, six times), but nobody involved seems to care that much about it, and there's really nobody in this movie that I really care enough about to ratchet up the tension the way this series can when it's firing on all cylinders.
I dunno. I didn't hate it, because that would take more effort than anyone involved seemed to put into making it. Kind of a bummer.
This is just more of Hollywood allowing their male actors to age but not letting their females actresses age.

I don't even remember him in it.
Though to be fair I think I was twelve the last time I saw it.
I have only seen Guardians of the Galaxy. And I thought it was ok.

But I've never like, been excited that Vin Diesel is in a movie
He's kind of just one of those bland boys who shows up in action movies to me
Guardians of the Galaxy?
vin diesel has more charisma in his pinky than worthington has in his whole body
He evolved into Jai Courtney.
He seems to doing ok somehow

Sounds like movie jail to me.
