Fun F2P beat'em up style mobile game featuring Marvel characters. Play through and farm various heroes to beat different modes and fight with and against other people's characters.
Quick and Dirty "Who do I choose" for new players:
For new players, you get a Journey of Growth questline that gives you some Biometric Selectors and Rank-Up Tickets to get one character to max rank in your first week. One of the Selectors you get gives you access to any of the characters in the game. It's recommended that you take Carnage from this since otherwise he's locked behind a Biometric Subscription and he's one of the strongest characters in the game(excluding the ultra end-game World Boss characters, Carnage is great for farming them).
Other than that you want to farm up/rank up Loki and get his costume from the shop(when they present you with the discounted costume option) ASAP as he's pretty much the strongest character in the game and can carry you through every game mode. He's only farmable from Dimension Rifts which are dependent on the ones found by you, your Alliance members, and people in your friend list. So it's not a terrible idea to use your first week rank up tickets on him, so you can start maxing him out quickly.
Basically you'll want to try to put priority to farming Loki Rifts so you can unlock him and use Rank-Up tickets on him.
I believe you get a second selector to unlock a character at 4* as well. I'm not sure who's in that one, but I hear people usually recommend Kingpin for it.
Game modes Overview:
Defeat a stage with 3 Stars(no one dies) to unlock Autoplay+. Regular Autoplay only autoattacks and doesn't use your character's abilities.Story Mode:
Beat up some mooks through the level and defeat the boss for a chance to get a character's Biometric to drop.
Special Mission:
Like Story mode, but has exclusive characters to their stages. You can normally play two stages a day along with a 30 minute unlimited mode.
Daily:
Your main place to farm ISO-8 to equip on characters for stat and ISO set bonuses(don't worry about it until you get a level 55+ character). Pretty nice chunk of gold as well.
Villain Seige:
Fight a boss on each stage. Very worth it to use at least some of the recommended characters of the day to get bonus loot. They don't need to do anything and can be carried by one of your stronger characters. Gives you Chaos Tokens to spend in the shop(recommended to get Ant-man first, Elsa second)
World Boss:
The end-game, the most difficult and challenging stages the game offers. You'll need a stable of decently buffed up 6* heroes and card set to do this. Also some practice to learn each boss' pattern.
Timeline Battle:
Fight against the AI of other player's teams and awards Honor Tokens. You can reroll your opponent at the cost of gold to increasingly high point valued teams or if you don't think you can win; you'll probably drop plenty of matches starting out so don't waste too much gold.
Co-op Play:
Pretty nice for farming up a bit of extra gold and Dimension Debris. Unfortunately not too useful for VIP1.
Battleworld:
Limited time open 5v5 battle 2 characters at a time between you and your opponents team either Live or AI. Not too bad to make some extra gold just from participation and perhaps grab a couple of the harder to get biometrics.
Alliance Battle:
Will pretty much fuel your account once you level up your Loki, and farm some Ronan to lead him(Agent 13 lead on Female only days). Mon-Thurs you can use Loki to carry you through eventually to the end. If you can complete it you'll net ~850k Gold, 25 random Biometrics, and 25-45 Clear Tickets and Dimension Debris.
Remember to max out your Loki Shield so it can absorb the maximum number of hits.
Quick Tier list of Characters for World Boss: Doesn't include Black Order/Thanos
Not an end all be all list, just good characters to keep in mind for who to farm/rank up
Leadership: Ronan, Star Lord, She Hulk, War Machine, Elsa, Black Bolt, Ms Marvel etc(looking for at least 30% bonus damage for your carries) or Cooldown characters(Iron Man, Agent 13
Buffs: Daisy Johnson, Warwolf
Damage Carries: Loki, Silk, Sister Grimm, Carnage, Coulson(so I hear), Iron Fist, Angela, Elsa, Hulkbuster, Kingpin, Ultron, Hyperion, Wasp, Antman(her damage is a bit low unless you have a lot of bonus damage from cards, ISO as well as Star Lord or She Hulk).
Strikers: Elsa, Rocket, War Machine, Captain America, Sister Grimm, Hulkbuster, Punisher, Hyperion, Giant Man, Black Bolt, She Hulk.
You'll need Mockingbird, Deathlok, Black Widow, Sharon Carter, (Optionally Daisy with Quake Uniform) to defeat Corvus Glaive

Strikers - that's just when a party member hops on screen to shoot off some abilities then buggers off, right?

Change type changes the upgrades yo your gear. The upgrades are random and their point value is also random (between certain values). You don't havento worry about this till way down the line, because it is some serious min/max stuff that costs tons of gold. Its like Legendary items in Diablo3.
I've spent most of my time/stamina so far going through the JoG for Kingpin, which has had me slowly grinding him up to level 40 for the past day or so. Maybe I'm missing something, but I really wish there was an easier way to level up people. I appreciate that the inactive team members you bring still get exp, it should make catching other people up not as bad, but leveling up your highest level character seems like a bit of a slog.
Should I be focusing on something else this early? Like I said, I'm currently just grinding story missions to slowly level up Kingpin with daily excursions into the necessary other mission types to complete the daily achievements.
Kingpin is one of the strongest characters with his uniform on (also changes his type from combat (red) to blaster (blue) which is nice for events that require specific types). Its just that he is pretty easy to farm by yourself.
Generally for gear you'll want:
Gear 1: Main ATK stat or All Attack,
Gear 2: All Defense
Gear 3: HP or Dodge
Gear 4: Usually Skill Cooldown until you can get a decent amount on your cards. But Crit Damage and sometimes Crit Rate is fine too.
Sounds like you're doing just fine. The Carnage thing was just for if someone wanted to do completely f2p.
Early focus would just be to get Loki(or whoever you like) to 60, completing stages as far as you can get. For leveling they have bonus gold and XP times somewhat frequently typically around 9-12 EST AM and PM. If you click the little gray speaker icon in the upper middle portion of the screen it'll show you a list of all the various scheduled events. But mainly you'll need to stop and grind a bit here and there until you can take on higher level stages. First characters will be a bit slow.

There are some odd limits on who is available and who isn't. Currently running through with Silk and Starlord at 3 stars, and a two star Captain America. Got a 4 star Vision, but I prefer Starlord.

Reddit.com/r/Future_Fight is a great resource, by the way.
Red Skull will be 6* tomorrow, Ronan within a couple days
And then I've still got a 5* ticket, a 6* ticket, and a 6* mega ticket
Really need to get to the point where I can start clearing at least one World boss regularly
Striker List
Whichever ones of the guys that give physical/energy/boss damage are going to be the most useful. But I think they're not even strictly necessary for the Loki win once he's nice and geared up with Ronan.
Oh, I've got some friendlist spots open too, add me up as dElementalor if anyone wants.

Ah, never mind. Confused "Hero's Journey" with "Journey of Growth." Chose Kingpin for Hero's Journey.

The Cap event:

Sharon Rodgers seems strong, the rest kind of ...decent I guess, nothing special.
Definitely try to do all 3 stages of the event everyday for the T2 ticket. I think you need a maxed out T1 character to use it, unlike the other type.

I do have a pair of 6* mega tickets (rank and mastery) that I still haven't used.

Also Sharon is pretty great. Best blast I've played.
With that I can probably have my Thanos done by the time the event is over.

It seems like it's tuned with his T2 in mind, which is a real fucking bummer

And then pretty much his entire TD is devoted to fixing that one skill. It basically raises them to 60% stats, and 9s duration
Most of the upgrades so far aren't really worth the T1->2 in my opinion. I think in this batch only Agent 13 is marginal, just for speed AB day.

The best super hero.

Other notable feature is a revamp of dimension rifts: you can now open them without getting lucky during a random Story Question and you can reroll the rift so you can do one that awards the right biometrics or comic cards for you.
