Oh, there's the rotation and feel I was missing from Ret this time around. Extremely tempted to main WW and Fire mage this time around.
It's really probably one of the most well done melee classes now.
I played a lot of SWTOR, and one of the nice things there was that there always was a button to press. Even if you ran out of your class resource there was a weak no cooldown attack that gave you more rage/focus/whatever.
Right now of the melee style classes (and I consider hunter to be more of a melee style class than a caster) only really marksman and windwalker have this kind of mechanic, and in most other melee classes I have tried there's a significant sit and wait component where you are out of a resource or holding off on using abilites to avoid running out or save up for an ability which makes those rotations seem disjointed to me.
Your preference really bewilders me. What kind of content are you doing?
I leveled a shadow priest, thinking that the madness mechanics would be interesting. But it turned out that my hands would ache after a couple of dungeon runs. You're pressing Mindblast, Mind Flay, Void bolt, or another ability what feels like every second. Thirty minutes of that in a dungeon run is exhausting. I remember doing a Mythic dungeon with @Sepah and @Corp.Shephard and like, doing a round of combat while playing a shadow priest feels gave me the same feeling as getting up from doing a set at the gym.
I really don't understand how someone would find that pleasurable for more than an hour, at most.

I look forward to reading about the DDOS woes from my desk at work tomorrow.
IF I CAN'T BE HOME PLAYING YOU ALL MUST SUFFER.
Not really though. I hope things go well and I mean that with 0 sarcasm.
Just logged off on the EU side, got my Ashbringer and made some way into Stormheim quest line. Only had one disconnect and there seemed to be a bit of an input lag in Dalaran during the intro quests. Other than, smooth launch so far.

Man, they have got to do something about profession leveling 1-cap. When the cap was 375 it was fine, but at more than double that we're talking some serious grinding to get it capped off. They keep flirting with catch-up mechanics and even have some for things like Cooking thanks to Pandaria, but for the main professions there seems to be jack all save for the little Darkmoon Faire boosts you can get once a month.

Every single profession in Draenor had items that could be made using Draenor resources starting at lvl 1. I am fairly certain Legion will have something similar.

WoD did add catchup mechanics for all crafting professions, where you can do a simple recipe from 1-600. Also, Legion crafting professions only require level 300 for the quests.

You'd think that, but I definitely did *not* see any Tailoring ones while I was in beta.
I assume it's going to be "just make the current stuff to skill up and blow it up later for Obliterium." Or maybe head to Draenor and use the Garrison to skill up off of.

I may have missed it in the Legion beta but I didn't see anything like that for the gathering professions at least. It was pretty much one gather per skill point which, at 800 for a cap, is somewhat daunting.

I can't do the Druid artifact quests because I'm hostile with the Cenarion Circle. Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem won't speak to me. Can you guys turn him into a neutral faction NPC please? I know this is karma for the hours spent murdering Moonglade Guards but this is literally barring me entry from WoW Legion. I'm pretty sad right now. : (

Oh screw that guy. There are only two kinds of pvp that could have happened enough there to anger the guards that much.
Killing people there for the Lunar Festival.
Kill lowbie druids teleporting there at lvl 10 to go learn bear form. OTHER DRUIDS, the monster.
I hope they make him grind it out.

Circle member: My lord, the Druid I spoke of will be arriving shortly
Hamuul: Good. With the Legion storming our gates, we will have great need of his power. He might just be our last hope to deliver us from damnatio-
Druarr: Oi, how's it going? Where's my scythe?
Hamuul: ...
Druarr: What is it?
Hamuul: Get out

Geez, the new Dalaran ring costs 250,000 g? And the spider mount is 2 million? I know, they aren't necessary, but I'd like to think that I could afford them someday.
I suppose those prices make sense, with people exploiting the garrison for tons of gold. But it really kinda sucks for people who are coming back.
Yeah, I came back a month ago, never played WoD and the gold inflation is ridiculous. I've got maybe ten thousand across a dozen toons after a month so those prices may as well be infinite.
I have been looking forward to buying my spider for months.
Going to be amazing until halfway into Legion - Blizzard releases a patch with the Spider riding desert gnomes of middlefingertothefacetopia who offer a fancier better looking spider for 500g and a happy slap on the bum at exalted.

There was some inflation in Guild Wars 1. The developers added such blatant gold sinks as paying to stand in circles on the ground to slowly grind out a title. Also readily available chests with neat stuff in them that could only be opened with rare, expensive keys. Blizzard is marginally more subtle.
Whelp, my hope of trying to get the heirloom from the STV pvp chest failed when it was me vs a team of two people who apparently had the same idea. Oh well, I'll never get it now.

we don't play on any one realm. for best results join our collective Discord. Everything important is cross-realm now anyway.

You can do pretty much anything that way, if grouped.
There might be a few exceptions, but I forget what they are.

That is about it.
And only temporarily. I think HFC Mythic became cross server in like, March or something. Maybe even earlier.
The balance quest had some nice call backs to vanilla and while the resto artifact quest was shorter it was pretty nice and funny.
Good times.

it's just hard to remember when a mount that cost 20k was a huge deal, now that we're where we are
