Making a montage!

My meetup group is about to turn 7 years old, which is pretty crazy to me, so I wanted to make a cheesy montage video with the photos from different events/group outings over the years.

What's the easiest (ie free) way to do this. I only have a Chromebook, so no fancy editing tools.

Also, recommend appropriately cheesy montage music.

If that video doesn't have Joe Cocker rambling through "With a Little Help From my Friends", then it's not cheesy enough.

YouTube video editor? These people have an Internet connection, right?

You might have to give some more background on the group, since cheesy music comes in many varieties -- one of the free options provided by YouTube is "Farmer in the Dell," which is probably not the brand of cheesy you're looking for.

Any digital photo album worth its disk space should have a slideshow option built in.

Hardest part will probably be getting all the photos in one place.

As for cheesy montage music, Vitamin C Graduation Day, Green Day Time of Your Life, and something you choose yourself that had special significance to the group.

Would the slideshow option allow me to edit music in?

And luckily all the pictures are in the meetup group's site, so it'll just be a time consuming process to go through the events and pick some good ones out, but it'll be easy enough.

Youtube probably won't let you drop that kind of music in unless it is public domain

I know you can pick your own slideshow background music from your iTunes on an iPad because I just tested it out. Just one song though.

Google Photos does this. If you have all the photos in one place it can even make a video montage for you, automatically picking the photos to use, the transitions and the music. You can also edit the video on your own but the tools are pretty basic.

Google photos makes REALLY COOL/CHEESEY montages automatically. Load it up in there.
