My one big complaint about the Anima Questline is that it ruined the lv 60 roulette. ARF is just the most efficient way to get the Tomes you need. And I used to love that place but whenever I hear that music I just get bad memories nowadays.
I can't stand the research facility. It may give any more tomes than anything else in the same roulette, but it is super long and boring, and you don't even get loot to turn in for points.

Papalymo and Yda's buddy comedy routine doesn't do anything for me to be honest.
If they need to kill off somebody in the lead up to Stormblood, Papalymo is probably the safest character to do it with. He's always been the one scion thats just...there.

Hotfixes to old anima steps coming on Thursday with further changes in 3.55 sometime in February.
Uh no. There aren't any adjustments in the queue or any that have been announced in patch notes or any other form of communication.
There are likely to be adjustments with 3.55 as if they do what they did with 2.55 and remove the weekly limitations on gear drops plus raise the limit on the tomestones, it would hardly make sense to continue to throttle the previous relic stages. But this week? On Thursday? Nope. They make Crafting/Gathering adjustments on Thursdays to prevent anyone from missing out due to the 2 day difference between the standard weekly reset and the red scrip cycle. Not DoW/DoM. Before 3.55? Not likely
It's been about 7 months since the Umbrite stage was released. If you did just a single expert roulette once a day, and that's it as far as gameplay goes so not even a single weekly VA/WC run, you'll have gained enough tomestones to purchase about 85 umbrites or 10 more than you actually likely need.
That's not to say that ~75 x 300 lore for the umbrite doesn't suck. It does, but that total is not anywhere near as insurmountable as the five digit counter would suggest if you actually want to get the relic.
To be honest, no idea. But presumably it's to space things out a little bit otherwise Tuesday would be a crazy dash to get stuff done. In any case, it allows them some warning time before they drop economy shifting stuff.

They couldn't get some stuff in for the patch so they're being included as hotfixes on Thursday.
My mistake then. That's really brand new info and it's only for the Allagan Oils. Most likely the tomestone cost for them will be reduced only.
And the patch reading mentions that the changes were planned for 3.55 however they're pushing it earlier because people wanted it earlier. And it'll likely be next tuesday or thursday after the patch

I'd speculate that it's in reasoning crystal drops. Cutting the 40 items in half to 20 and maybe reducing the aether oil from 5 to 2-3.
I don't know if they'll touch umbrite until February.
