I wasn't expecting the 270 weapons would glow. But there is still hope for a much more cooler sparkly shiny particle effects on the dull ones. I don't think the weapon base will change but the 275 Anima+ (zeta?) might change that...
Zurvan's theme isn't quite as catchy as Sephirot and Sophia, but the second part jams a fair bit. Spoilered because the video shows the fight (his ult is so cool).
I had planned on not bothering with the anima weapons at this point and just picking up whatever they introduce in 4.0, but boy does that dragoon one look cool...

And yes, pressing recommended gear makes it so easy to keep everything up to date. Sometimes makes questionable decisions in some edge cases (or at least it's not really clear why it values one stat over another on near-identical gear)

I know it prefers your highest-damage weapon (like my 25 damage sword over the 24 damage one with Parry +3) and higher-quality gear (pink chest piece over green one that has +40 more defense and identical stats). So at least on my PLD, I've had to scrutinize the suggestions.
It always recommends DoW/DoM accessories for the unfilled slots on my Hand/Land classes. I ignore it, assuming the system is just trying to fill up empty slots.
There's no use in filling those with non CP/GP gear, right?

General comments:
I'm disappointed they got rid of Ilberd so quickly. I'm also disappointed that Raubahn and him didn't have any closure. I hope that means that there's a chance he comes back, but I doubt it.
I guess I'm supposed to feel sad about Papalymo, but I don't. I started as a GLD, so my only interaction with him was when he was annoying in East Shroud way back when I had to first deal with the Sylphs. I don't know anything about him other than he's a Lala and kind of an asshole. So, meh.

This has definitely helped me decide to put DRK on the shelf for now.
