Escape Goat 2 is such a fun, fun game. Bite-sized puzzle-platforming levels that start almost insultingly easy but end up pretty goddamn hard. And you get to play as a magical goat that has a mousie friend that can use multiple magic items that include an adorable wizard hat, a Necromouser staff, a tiny thor hammer, and so on.
Only 2 more achievements left in Kingdom Rush: Frontiers. I have to find some alien hunters in various levels and get assassins to steal 10,000 gold cumulatively. There's no in-game counter so I have no idea how close I am, but I suspect that will be the last one I grab. I liked the first Kingdom Rush quite a bit (enough to buy the second on release day), but this one has grabbed me way harder than the first one did.
It helps that my hero unit is a space alien who sometimes calls his ship to abduct enemies and remove them from the battlefield, too.
@jclast, how did you get the 'sandworm doesn't get your dudes' one? I took a solid swing at that one and just couldn't pull it off.
I used just 1 barracks and my hero and only called reinforcements immediately after the worm attacked. Also, there is a sound cue when the worm is going to attack so I was listening for that as well. Also, keep, your hero out of the middle of your soldiers so you only have 1 thing to move when the worm is coming.
Also, also, since I was concentrating on that achievement, I didn't lose my cool when I let a few enemies through. Same with the dwarf one later to have a single unit recover 500 health.
So I got into the closed beta for "For Honor" which looked interesting but I figured wouldn't play well.
But HOLY CRAP this went from "meh" to "day 1 purchase" for me after a little time with the beta. Most fun melee dueling system I think I've played in a game.
The 5v5 matches I think I'll enjoy the most. They have 10 players plus an AI 'army' sort of like in Titanfall or MOBAs, along with point capturing. It gets pretty hectic and you form some pretty specifical rivalries again enemy players, which is fun.
I ended the night with some 2 on 2 battles which were a blast.
Here's a little sample of how it plays (I have a bad connection so it's a little chunky). I'd also been playing the knight and this was my first round with the samurai so I didn't know his moves well and was too aggressive and didn't block enough. But you can watch the viking I fought to see how some good defending can really change the playing field. https://www.twitch.tv/vamenn/v/89581344
Good stuff. Highly recommended to check out if the setting and that type of gameplay is up your alley at all. There are a lot of subtitles to the combat too (which are very much not shown in my playing) so I think it will be a pretty deep and satisfying multiplayer game.
I got in as well but cant figure out how to actually play it. It said I got accepted, logged into the site, but cant find any key or anything to actually play the game.
How I did it was;
I got the invite, clicked on it then logged in with my current Uplay account. Then after I filled that small bit of info out, I went into the Uplay app and the game showed up to download. Just downloaded it and I was good to go.

ok there probably are, but man I'm such a huge fan of R&C...I would love the entire series to come out on PC. I have all of them already, granted, but across like 4 platforms. I would pay top dolla to have them do a big collection for PC, especially Insomniac having recently remastered the original game... which was excellent.

I spent a lot of memorable time with Ratchet and Clank but fell off somewhere during the PS3 era and miss the action and style.

As a fan. How was the movie?
Ah that's a shame. The PS3 games were fantastic, though I didn't get to play the most recent PS3 one because I'd moved to PS4 at the time and sold my PS3. But if you ever get a chance to play them, I very much recommend. The first two PS3 were great and I'm sure the one I didn't get to play yet was as well.
I haven't gotten around to seeing the movie yet though...I did just play the remake and it reminded me that R&C1 probably had the weakest story of the series that I can recall, so I'm not super excited to see the movie, but I still will.

Unless the movie is less than an hour long, you read wrong.
Leave for work this morning. Car no start. Well phooey. Call friend: "come jump me please, and not in that way!" Try to jump car, car no start. Not surprised because battery terminals had inches of corrosion built up on them (in my defense, it's a PT Cruiser and the battery is hidden under the air filter box so I never saw it building up corrosion). Get ride from friend, buy new battery, go home to install battery. Friend leaves for work. Battery terminals fall apart in my hand. EPIC SIGH. Call friend back. "Plz help, kthx!" Back to store, buy new terminals. Replace terminals. Curse a few times. Install battery. Car start! Woo! Get to work 2 hours late.
Friday, why you gotta be this way?
On the bright side, after today I have nine full days off work. Time to assess my now solitary house, rearrange furniture, maybe replace furniture that went away with Formerly Significant Other, put new things on now-blank walls, etc.
And video games. All the video games ever. I think I have one or two on Steam that I haven't started yet. Have to check to be sure.

Seems like your car just wanted to make it 10 days.
I can confirm the title of The Royal Trap definitely intends for the name to be a subtle hint, even if it's not the "usual" way. What a weird game.
In other games:
Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is an action platformer/Katamari Damacy mashup where you play as a blob eating things to grow and navigating through some puzzle/action sequences. Unfortunately, the polish/fun of the two aspects are a little skewed - the Katamari Damacy portions are quite fun, if simple, and manage to capture the fun of that original game but in a 2D plane. The puzzle platforming parts are quite good as well, but the action platforming....well, there's a number of "chase" sequences where you're running from lasers and stuff like that which just are more irritating than fun. That being said, this game is a good time start to finish, as is evidenced by the number of you I saw (and in many cases beat :V) on the leaderboard through to the end of the game. Worth a look!
And the soundtrack is pretty neat, to boot.
Yeah, I really liked it, although not enough to find the secret levels. They did a good job of keeping them secret.
If you enjoyed that one, it's worth checking out the original. The graphical style is far more pixel-y, and the soundtrack is more akin to that of a Sega Genesis soundtrack in quality, but it's pretty much more of the same type of game.
It looks like some generous soul over at Origin cottoned on to the fact that they were letting you buy Bioware points at 50% off.
That loophole has now been closed.
I guess I'll try again next year.
ETA: On th eother hand it looks like the Bioware site still nominally sells bioware points, at roughly 30% off
I tend to only buy games that don't require an incredibly byzantine manner of purchase. Also, since I am an adult, I prefer to buy my games with "dollars" instead of "points".
Maybe someday they'll do a GOTY style pack with all three Mass Effect games and all of the DLC (maybe with a crummy "remaster" coat of paint since that's what they do now) and then I'll probably buy it and see what I've been missing. Until then, ehh. There are plenty of other games to play. A person shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to give a company money.

Not that it helps NOW but if you have AAA one of their best things is battery service. They will come bring you a battery and put it in.

Freakin' work is taking sooooo long today.
Doesn't my boss know there are knights, vikings, and samurai that I need to be at home killing? THEY AREN'T GOING TO KILL THEMSELVES, SIR.
Ya well I just discovered that I'm out of milk and thus couldn't have cereal.
So there.
This was posted at 2:44pm my time, so you either live somewhere in the Yakutsk/Beijing area, or you got up WAY LATER than I did this morning. No sympathy.

Man, that's the worst. I hate running out of milk.
Running out of milk is a pain, but the worst is not realising the milk is bad until it is already in the bowl with the cereal. Or even worse, in your mouth.
Also, I had a rubbish day too, just to join the club. It involves a long, complicated and uninteresting story about ultraviolet LEDs and urine.

Now I want to force lightning ALL THE THINGS.

So there.
Man, that's the worst. I hate running out of milk.
Steam Support is the worst. Seriously, the worst
Not that it helps NOW but if you have AAA one of their best things is battery service. They will come bring you a battery and put it in.
Force lightning is the proper way to handle these sorts of problems.
Or really, any sorts of problems.
I have roadside assistance through my insurance that covers this, too, but it seems silly to call someone to do a thing I can do myself.
I didn't break any nails but I think I have blown a vein or two in my brain trying to kill a Google employee with my mind over the phone.
Doesn't my boss know there are knights, vikings, and samurai that I need to be at home killing? THEY AREN'T GOING TO KILL THEMSELVES, SIR.
This was posted at 2:44pm my time, so you either live somewhere in the Yakutsk/Beijing area, or you got up WAY LATER than I did this morning. No sympathy.
Cereal is the right food choice at ANY time of the day or night.
Well, the samurai might.
Point taken.

Maybe they will be better at lawsuits than making good games.
Now I want some Golden Grahams. That is the best cereal.
