Hmm, just read an important thing that's making me think of restarting on my US account. Online functionality will be paid. And I'm not sure I wanna pay double, so... yeah.
I'll miss the old super charge, but the tackle is really nice. It's going to be tough choosing between my 3 mains now. I think it'll come down to which weapon designs make it into the game, or what new armour skills they add.
The True Charge Attack seemed super finicky in that video though. The first part of it did piddling damage (~20, so basically just a regular swing), and it sends you FLYING forward. If you don't lodge yourself into the monster you're going to miss the real part of the attack, which is chunky, dealing almost twice as much damage (160, vs. 90) as the first level 3 charge.
He mentioned that it seemed ridiculously sensitive to moving the stick, though, so I get the feeling the intent is that you can use it to follow a monster after it does a step-forward attack past or away from you. Granted, this does mean you probably won't get to hit the weak spot, but dealing double damage makes up for that in most cases.
So, I don't think intentionally shoulderchecking to get to True Charge Attacks is going to be particularly effective. I think it's something that lets you either combo a double or triple charge attack while staying on target, or something to let you check your way through an attack and then hit the monster from behind.
I've used them instead of Play-Asia and vice versa depending on whichever one had a cheaper price back before I discovered I could buy them from Amazon JP.

Also I don't get what's up with these Japanese rooms. Have had issues twice now where people just take all the damn items instead of just their share from the box. When that happens I just straight up quit. Like I'm not gonna help out assholes with their quests.

I thought I didn't care about pins, but then I went to pax south. It's not like it's possible to get pax west tickets anyway, so I wouldn't be able to get the pins. But it would be nice to have them. I just wish XX would have got localized on the 3ds. Oh well, I'm getting a ps4 for marvel vs capcom and battlefront 2, so MHW on ps4 seems good to me too.
Also, maxing out the strider gear in gen takes sooooo many deviljho kills.
