Welcome to the pilot season full of new Acquisition Incorporated adventures, filmed on-location in an actual basement, delivered episodically for your amusement.Listen to the podcast.
Scott was being a real pain in that episode. If one of my players spent all sesh drawing and not paying attention, I'd be having words afterwards. And that DM disrespect was totally uncalled for.
Somebody needs to get that boy a snickers!
Also, d'you think we're actually gonna get Will in when his toon's revealed? I remember it was a falling out with Scott that had him leave in the first place...

That's just how he handles his idle time.
He's done it in literally every episode and even does it on stage.
Apparently you missed Jim(Mike) drawing during episode 9. You know, when he drew Binwin carying him in the Baby Bjorn.
All part of the "game" - And it can yield some great art and laughs.

The artists always doodle during the games and it's actually part of the fun. Whenever I used to play, anyone at the table who was an artist would spend their idle time drawing their character and the same thing happens here. Mike does it as well, so if you have a problem with scott doing it then you apparently also have a problem with mike doing it.
Scott is not ACTUALLY being a dick to the DM; he's just fucking around. It's kind of a running joke that Scott acts like Chris is giving everything cool to everyone else while giving him the shaft ever since that one time Chris told Mike he "didn't even have to roll" for a cool spell idea. I think you might be taking Scott's behavior (or this game?) more seriously than everyone else is. Everyone else (including Chris) seems aware that he's just fucking around.
I think the reason Wil left was because he was starting his own projects such as tabletop and such, or at least that was the official explanation, and it seems to check out well enough. But there does appear to have been some kind of falling out with Kurtz, but it's impossible to know what actually happened there. Maybe Kurtz really was shitty to him, or maybe Wil was just oversensitive about something, or something in between, we don't know. With all the psychological shit pent up inside of lifelong nerds, who the hell knows?
I don't really mind, though. I mean... I like Wil okay but he got a little... annoying sometimes? I feel like a jerk saying that, because he seems like the best guy, and I really do appreciate his work on tabletop and everything, and I hope he continues for a long time, but I'd be lying if I said there weren't a handful of times where I felt like the unscripted Wil was a little... eh... he strikes me as a person who sometimes gets a little TOO high on attention and then maybe doesn't know when to quit...? Like even maybe when other people are signaling as tactfully as they can via subtle non-vocal social cues that it is time to quit he either does not perceive those cues or else ignores them because he's high on attention right now? Whatever the reason, he just seemed to get a little too carried away sometimes and it could be a bit too much for me.
Anyway. I'm a huge Rothfuss fan and really enjoy Pat playing Viari a lot, so I'm not complaining at all.

I see your sarcasm meter has been undamaged and your funny bone is still intact. Thanks for clearing up that Wil rumor, that was a new one for me. I award you 1 double axe to the back and 2 acid pits
~edit: ice chandeliers? Let's see what's up with that!

I am so emotionally confused about these rewards!
Was anyone else able to see what the doodle was that Scott was passing around to Mike and Jerry? He appeared to hold it out for a minute so the camera could see, but the video was too blurry for me. I even tried to screenshot it and mess with the zoom/color/lighting and I couldn't get any sort of result. It appears to be a picture of a flamingo with something written above it....?
Is it a.... FLANKMINGO? (Probably not, but it was worth a shot.)

I was hoping to get a better shot of Scott's drawing, but the camera didn't stay on it long enough.
They should post their "doodles/sketches/drawings" after each season.
I would totally buy a shirt with Mike's "Baby Bjorn" drawing with maybe a TEAMWORK! splashed across it.
I wouldn't be surprised if at least part of Wil's departure was due to money. Acq Inc strikes me as kind of a "you want to be here" kind of engagement, and Wil seems to be pretty good at monetizing his presence on things if it isn't direct charity work.
Does anyone know where Chris gets his miniatures, or what brand/kind they are? We used to have a few local miniature/board game shops, but they're all closed.

I think some of them are WOTC official (they sell categories of blind boxes). In one of the early live shows Chris name-dropped Litko as a source, but they appear to sell things more along the lines of markers, tokens, bases, and other non-character pieces. I couldn't find much in the way of character minis on their site.
That's not how critical hits are done..
"When you score a critical hit, you get to roll extra dice for the attack’s damage against the target. Roll all of the attack’s damage dice twice and add them together. Then add any relevant modifiers as normal. To speed up play, you can roll all the damage dice at once.
For example, if you score a critical hit with a dagger, roll 2d4 for the damage, rather than 1d4, and then add your relevant ability modifier. If the attack involves other damage dice, such as from the rogue’s Sneak Attack feature, you roll those dice twice as well." - 5e Players Handbook
Not max damage + weapon die roll ... unless you're playing some home-brew version of 5e.

I am guessing it was an adjustment to make sure the group gets to the proper spot in the adventure in the time allowed so they can complete it at PAX.

Chris has never used the official Crit ruling for Acquisitions Inc. I think he does it because it is slightly faster/simpler.

ALL OF IT!!

*taps my nose
How did that become a thing for 'I think you're right'?

"You don't even have to roll."
Pretty sure that's not how rolls are done. ;-)
