After a few disappointing games with Li Li, I decided to switch it up to Valla. She's...different.
The earlier stuff from people about LiLi was probably a bit.. complex. Try this:
1: Gale Force
4: Mass Vortex
7: The Good Stuff
10: Jug of 1,000 Cups
13: Hindering Winds
16: Two for One
20: Kung Fu Hustle
Use your Q and E on cooldown. Never touch your W. Use R whenever multiple teammates are low in health, or whenever one person looks like they're taking a beating. Jug is an awesome burst heal if one person is getting focused. Run in circles at pretty much all times. Hearth or fountain whenever you get low on mana. That should help quite a bit. Heals is a very hard role, this combines a lot of prevention with a lot of healing plus some Slows to help the team out.

Good games today, friendos! I think I went like, 8-1, so that's pretty fucking great.
This game was deffo my favorite though:
Towarz of Doooom. Chen and I rocking that double-tank life, with Guldo and Lunara reppin' that POKE SQUAD. Brightwing in the back keepin' us all healthy. I went Prog Rock this game and capped it out PRETTY quickly, actually. Once I had that, like, no damage could be done to us. Between TealDeer's BW heals and my own Prog Rock heals, we had sustain FOR DAYS. Also went Stage Dive, cause ain't no getting a Mosh off with Sunder/Gust/Detainment Strike.
Now, these mothafuckas were BMing us all game. We'd get like a failed gank or something, and they'd start B-Stepping. Like assholes. Taunting us, "neener neener neener u can't kill us". Or so I would imagine.
BUT THEN I'D ROLL IN FROM THE SIDE AND STUN EM AND WE'D GET EM
B-STEP THAT, ASSHOLE

5 man groups are cancer and 3 mans just throw you at them constantly.
while i can see there may be a problem with this, i am not sure what the solution is. i can't imagine removing them from any game mode where they are currently allowed. it'd be nice if team league was the place for full groups but even if you banned them from all other modes i doubt the population would increase all that much. my expectation is that it would just cause people to group with 4.
4 stacks are worse than 5 stacks because it throws a pub under the bus, they're banned from certain modes in DotA and I think LoL because they're terrible for the matchmaker to work with

The only Heroes that have any real possibility of coming are the top 3 listed. Which is to say, Varian, Zul'jin, and Mengsk.
There's actual datamined info and Axolotl has backed it up.
Speaking of Axolotl, be wary when looking at his post history. Only posts with the tripcode (the bit with "!iLoVeYOUvM" after his name) are the real Axolotl, otherwise the more recent posts are just geese pretending to be him. Since, yknow, anyone can use any name on 4chan and all.
BUT, otherwise, yeah, those other Heroes listed? They're on the giant list of possibilities, but nothing actually concrete otherwise.
Also also, keep in mind that release schedules and even Hero kits can change from when they were first leaked. Axolotl said Samuro was coming after Gul'dan/Auriel, but that wasn't the case. My guess is Machines of War became a thing and they decided to push up Zarya/Alarak as a result.
BUT, Axolotl also has yet to be wrong. Everything that he has posted has come out, 100%. If he's to be believed, Varian should be... next-ish? Soon-ish?

mengsk is gonna be the weird different-playstyle hero they annually do for Blizzcon, right?
Deathwing seems like a good pick for an abathur style totally random hero, like, he's flying above the battlefield, and you only ever see a claw or breath of fire or whatever come down, and location is denoted by his shadow. or something.

Kinda?
Everything he's talked about has been in development but he hasn't been correct about alot of names and specifics and release times and such.
Honestly my impression is that he's in the art department or something. He's in the asset pipeline so he can throw out names of stuff but he has little idea what's really going on.

Hmm, yeah, maybe. I mean, timeline releases can always change (Machines of War with Zarya/Alarak coming before Samuro, for example), and sometimes Hero kits can change during development, right?
One way or another, though, he's been right about everything so far. Maybe not in the correct order, but he's been right. He said Lunara was gonna be a thing before anyone knew anything otherwise. Like, him putting out that name and mentioning it was a "random name given to an offensive caster Dryad" was met with derision. Things like "who the fuck is Lunara" and "Stop that. We neither know if there even is a Lunara nor which franchise she's from nor her race."
And yet, boom, he was right. He also called Cho'gall before Blizzcon and said it was a 2-person Hero. No one believed him then either.
Some really great games on Johanna and Xul with @shryke last night
Feeling good, started my first placement match annnnnnnnd got placed on a team of tomatoes where I got shunted until support which I'm awful at, and Uther because our own team banned Malfurion because the banner didn't realize it was his pick.
It went downhill from there, ugh. Our Jaina went 0-0-6. RIP
edit- oooo Shryke Tell em about our weird-ass draft game on Blackheart's where everyone turned out to be a pro.
I think we had Jo (me), Aba, Gaz, Shryke on Alarak. Rofflestomped em.
Our first draft was ... um, special:
You rarely get your hopes up when you team first picks Aba and then second picks Gaz. But the other guy picked Rehgar so it's not that bad we figure. We grab Jo cause they have Kerrigan and Sonya and I grab Alarak cause why not and also cause he's really good at fucking with heroes like Sonya and Kerrigan who jump in cause you can just shove them away and waste their engage.
Anyway we didn't really need to worry cause it turns out even though they knew how to draft pretty well they were kinda complete potatoes and we just fucking stomped them. At one point, right after we get their bot fort, we grab their giants. They went top and grabbed boss. Which ... ok, but it's really early so it's not gonna do much. I figure fuck it cause I need to B soon anyway so I grab our giants too and then B. Their team completely just ... doesn't notice this or something and the giants take the bot keep easily. And this is like less then 10 minutes in or something.
Anyway, ends like this:
And frankly the only reason we have that many deaths is cause by the end we were just kinda fucking around a bit.
There was this hilarious chase though between me and Sonya. I really should have won it but you can see the misclick on my W right at the end. Ahh well, still funny to watch: https://youtu.be/swZ5MYDUZN8
Then next game we grab another buddy of No-Quarter's and get a pretty good draft going.
I'm last pick and decide basically "They took Tyrande/Tassadar as their supports? Ok, sounds fun" and pick up Lunara. And then proceed to shit all over them.
This is basically the moment the game turned from in any way competitive to complete stomp: https://youtu.be/rAz3mm1c2NU
Jo just keeping them all nice and bogged down while I shit poison all over them.
It ended not that long after that:
I was actually further ahead before but I decided I wanted to win siege damage too. :P
Interesting gul'dan build over on gosugamers. Not a place I typically frequent, but I saw it mentioned on twitter:
Pursuit of flame
Improved life tap
Curse of exhaustion
Horrify
Fel armor
Dark bargain
Rampant hellfire
Haunt 2.0
Haven't gone through the entire video (I wish people would just write things up instead of a 20 minute video, especially when a lot of it is filler), but I have never been a huge fan of the Q build so I kinda want to try this out.
I know @milk ducks has been a big fan of gul'dan and @MMMig wanted to give him a try. Usually I am going for corruption buffing builds but maybe fel flame centric builds are worth a shot since it recently got buffed.
Edit
Since those leaks are around it got me thinking about what I'd like to see next. Personally I'd like to see more scourge enter the Nexus. There are a number of warriors (arthas anub'arak) , a specialist (although only part-time scourge) and another warrior if you use a certain skin (vrykul leoric). They need a support and some DPS.
Assassins are relatively easy there are tons of mages, warlocks, and other options. Kel'thuzad, drakuru (also a troll!), and marrowgar would be cool. Skarvald and Dalronn from upgrade keep, or falric and marwyn from halls if reflection. Plus obviously tons of others.
I think supports are where things get tricky but there are some options. The val'kyr are an easy choice, they do the whole resurrection thing, and although a necromancer or banshee could work as an offensive support I don't think we'll see those. Also the san'laeyn would be interesting. They could have mini bloodlust-like abilities and emphasize drain life effects.
The zerg also need one more hero to have a complete 5 stacks (ignoring skins). Abathur, Dehaka, kerrigan, and zagara still need a support as well. There are some options here but they would make more sense as specialists I think unless you delve into the feral zerg. Stukov for example would be interesting but most zerg units that come to mind as supports would be queens (already have zagara), investors, defilers, that sort of thing. If cerebrates and the overmind could be included they could work or the leviathan connected character whose name escapes me...but then you have a team with suuuper low map presence which seems odd for the zerg. I guess if part of the support kit it spawned lots of units. I dunno.
Protoss are in a similar boat. I'd love to have Fenix or Karax to accompany Artanis, zeratul, alarak, and tassadar. I am not sure whether they need a warrior or support more. While I think tassadar can solo support it csn be tough against certain heroes, and similarly Artanis can't always hold the front lines. At least for the protoss there are obvious established characters for choices.
Also want a tuskarr, wolvarr, and furbolg hero but those will probably show up right around year 10...
Sadly Artanis does the Zealot role pretty well, so if Fenix comes up he should show up as a Dragoon.
I mean, Dragoons are cool and all but I remember Fenix more as a Zealot because that's how you first meet him.
Dragoon sound bytes are legit cool and recognizable though.
Also, Protoss Sentry would totes be a support unit.
AOE shields and those annoying-as-hell energy walls.

I think tassadar got the wall from the sentry. Also I vaguely recall Fenix being mentioned as a zealot/dragoon (immortal now?) in an interview or something and they shelved the design since leoric and other cheat-death heroes had just released
Something that grows slowly across the map on the ground.
Sort of like creep spreading, but this would be more like the cerebrates or overmind. You can maybe choose a starting spawn location and from there you grow out towards a direction with certain abilities to slow enemies or speed up allies, maybe do a bit of damage.
Your enemies would be able to kill tumors to push you back, and if they kill your starting tumor / cerebrate mind, you die.
To avoid being broken the spreading is slow, so you can't just start behind a wall and secure a large amount of ground before an objective pops.
Maybe in order to spread around you use an ability that moves your cerebrate mind through a tumor at a time. That way you have to be close to the enemy to do damage, and you can also "run away" as long as you have tumors to chain back to. The enemy can chase you this way as well, knowing the path of tumors.
They can also pre-emptively kill your tumor escape route on the backline so you don't have an easy escape and would need to create a new path out during team fights.
Anyway we didn't really need to worry cause it turns out even though they knew how to draft pretty well they were kinda complete potatoes and we just fucking stomped them.
I am actually of the opinion that a sorta janky draft of a team's very fave characters that they know super well >>> a Totes Meta draft by a bunch of people who aren't actually good at those characters and only drafting them because they heard they were meta.
@Supagoat those are some CLUTCH BW plays, jeez. I think I'm slowly being sold on Emerald Wind. It really hurts losing the awesome mobility from Blink Heal, and I think I'll keep it for pubbies who get way out of my range or really divey comps where I know I'll need to juke out of the way (or stuff like Leoric & Entomb), but I think with groups who I know can reliably stick to me and protect me from stuff like that Emerald Wind is back to being pretty darn good again.
- It increases BW's healing way more than blink heal does because it adds a passive bonus to her healing.
- It functions better for half of the use of Blink heal - it's a better escape because she doesn't depend on someone being in range. Get jumped? Hit R and Alt-E and just run away.
- It can save more than just Brightwing's hide. If a fight is going south and your team needs to retreat, BAM.
- It's a play maker. Use it offensively by getting on the other side of an enemy and pushing them towards your team while simultaneously pushing the rest of their team away. This is especially fun when Stitches is on your team. I could have killed that Zeratul with 1 more Q, but as you saw I pushed him right into Alarak.
- It does good damage. It's a great finisher when people think they're going to get away.
My morning game was a disaster. Our Butcher ended with less hero damage than BW. Took me until about 14 minutes in to figure out what was going on, because it didn't make sense that we were getting slaughtered in every fight and never taking any merc camps or pushing or anything. Then I glanced at the stats screen and saw 4k hero damage on our Butcher.
He got super toxic when the rest of the team pointed this out, and I just apologized for not being able to carry him. That seemed to shut him down pretty well.

New Cerebrate Hero OP.

He got super toxic when the rest of the team pointed this out, and I just apologized for not being able to carry him. That seemed to shut him down pretty well.
